  1. She’s got my vote and support.

  2. Catherine D. says:

It also lets you interpret the sign language as “read between the lines, a-holes” …

    2
  3. I can think of a couple of hand gestures for the Abbott campaign.

  4. bud malone says:

Very good. It will work for left handers also.

  5. Marion (formerly known as MM) says:

Maybe it’s just me, but I find the blue hands kind of creepy.

  6. Marion (formerly known as MM) says:

Other than the blue hands, I like the graphic a lot.

  7. TexasEllen says:

Wendy’s campaign is going to be fun.

  8. Marcia in CO says:

Those a Blue Democrat Hands …

    8
  9. Marcia in CO says:

Those ARE Blue Democrat Hands … sorry about that … I was sure I typed “are” rather then just an “a” …

    9
  10. Oh, don’t be afraid of the blue hands. This isn’t the “two by two, hands of blue” from . This is a very effective use of simple graphic message.

    10
  11. Oh, gee, it took out the word I surrounded with the pointy things. I was referring to the sci fi classic show Firefly above.

    11
  12. Lots of potential Firefly references possible as long as the House Repubs continue to act like Reavers.

    12
  13. JAKvirginia says:

Easy as one, two three? Well, I guess Rick Perry won’t get it then. After two he fades.

    13
  14. Thanks for explaining the Firefly reference. The only Firefly I’m familiar with is Groucho Marx as Rufus T. Firefly in “Duck Soup.”

  15. Marge Wood says:

I’m celebrating Wendy’s announcement tomorrow with a friend at lunch. If you haven’t found a party somewhere, invite someone to lunch. Or dinner. Or over to watch TV at 4:30 or thereabouts. Will we be able to watch it live on the computer?

    15
  16. I’m glad that Sen Davis is running. And I dang sure hope that she wins. Though I, sorrowfully, no longer live in Houston, or even TX, and hence can’t vote in this, I would most definitely vote for Sen Davis for Governor. We haven’t had a governor with any brains since Miss Ann! I voted for her, in both elections. I really really want TX to have a Democratic governor, and a Democratic House and Senate as well. It sure would work a lot better than the rule of RWNJs that we have now!

    16
  17. Kath the Scrappy says:

Well, I won’t be able to vote for her. But I sure as HECK will be donating. Texas, you deserve a woman that cares about you’ll.

  18. gabberflasted says:

Hands of blue, sign of true.

Battleground Texas is going to use the Texas Tribune’s livestream…. http://www.texastribune.org

They have set up a new website, which I’m so heavily involved today with getting our big watch celebration in Abilene done I haven’t had time to look at it: http://www.wendyforthewin.com

I was on a conference call last night with the digital guru for Battleground Texas… they are anticipating way over 100,000 Tweets for the event, have 2 hashtags that will be operating simultaneously, dual screen. The one that Battleground is using is #TeamWendy which will be sharing real time feedback. If you would like to share a Tweet, here’s that hashtag: #WendyFTW (for the win). If you would like to post a picture for them to share, here’s that email address: Fact92Firm@photos.flicker.com. Be sure to label it, like Oldest Person at our event, youngest person at our event, Crowd at the XXX Watch Party… whatever. They also strongly encouraged us to post live pictures onto our individual and organization’s Facebook pages from the event. This campaign is going to be heavily utilizing social media, it seems.

Battleground Texas is strongly emphasizing “Telling the Story of Texas”, amplifying Wendy’s story and her message.

They anticipate that this announcement will bring not only a national audience, but also, because of the internet, could be watched around the world. The President of the Young Dems at ACU was in Europe this summer during Wendy’s filabuster. When people would find out that she was from Texas… that was all they wanted to talk with her about… a young woman, Democrat, from Texas… what do you think? Do you know Wendy? Will she run for Governor of Texas?

The live-stream, I think, begins at 4:30, with Wendy doing her speech at 5pm. http://www.texastribune.org

The event in Abilene is regional. The new county chair in Knox County is coming. His wife is from Abilene. They were in Austin at the Capitol the night of the filabuster, at midnight. Said it was one of the most incredible experiences in their lives… the crowd, the excitement. We have a movement, friends.

Happiness is a NEW GOVERNOR. It’s been a long dry spell since Ann Richards was in office….

Will be having long-planned lunch with two good, democratic friends, and the atmosphere should be very upbeat, to say the least. My quandary here is whether to wear my Come and Take Them t-shirt in burnt orange, the t-shirt I bought at Pike Place Market while in Seattle recently (also in burnt orange), or the t-shirt I just received yesterday saying “Trust Women Protect Choice” in deep purple for donating to the DCCC. I need a three-sided coin.

    20
  21. Blue or not, that is a repulsive graphic.

Why not just use hands with different skin tones? Real hands are much more attractive than those refuges from a sci-fi movie.
