Kinda Like the Rotary Club Except We Wear Hoods
Y’all, just when you think Louie Gohmert might lose his Daily Louie status, along coms this news: Louie and his congressional friends meet weekly plotting to overthrow Obama.
No, seriously. And it appears they can all find the room on their own, although I cannot personally attest to that.
Last night speaking at the Republican Party in Marshall, Texas, Louie announced …
“Since May, there’s been a group of senators and about 10 or 12 House members, we’ve been meeting once a week trying to figure out what’s the strategy (to remedy the nation’s current financial and healthcare woes) and (Senator) Mike Lee took the lead on the strategy, and the strategy is to fund every part of government including some things some of us don’t care to fund and completely defund Obamacare,” he said, as reported by the Marshall News Messenger.
Senator Mike Lee wants to shut down the government over Obamacare.
But Louie says the wussies in the GOP are getting on his nerves.
On Tuesday, Gohmert told a tea party audience in Texas that GOP leadership was “scared to death” of laying it on the line for Obamacare.
“They think if we have a shutdown, or a big showdown, we may lose the majority(party status in the House),” he said, “and they will lose their leadership positions.”
Kinda like if Louie talks sane, he loses his Tea Party support. Same deal, you know.
Thanks to Bernard for the heads up and John for the Louie picture.
That picture is worth more than a thousand words. Just imagine what could be accomplished if these closet corn-spiritors used these meetings to figure out how to help the American people, pass immigration, fund food stamps, repeal sequestration or just how to get out of the way and let some progress be made.
1I was just going to send this HuffPo article to you and I see Bernard and John beat me to it!
Yup, the ole Gohm is still at it! And that Mike Lee from Utah … is that the same one taking cheesy self-portraits of himself in a sleazy motel and putting them out on the Internet a few months back?
Sweet Jesus … what a bunch?
2Wrong Mike Lee … the other one posting pics of himself was much younger … maybe from the East Coast rather then in Utah!!
3I don’t mind the Republican reps & senators setting out on a suicide mission while they attempt to defund the health care law. I just wish they would swerve into the ditch on the right side of the road, and drive head on into into a tree, or telephone pole at 3 AM. Instead, they seem intent on crossing the center line during rush hour traffic. It’s a cowards way out.
4I would laugh about this, if I didn’t have such an urge to cry. We need to turn Texas Blue for the sake of humanity.
5Be nice to produce a graph that charts their regression. Love to know just how low these idiots can actually get. Haven’t the foggiest idea where the baseline would start. Sub-basement level, perhaps.
6How did Louie become a judge? Vote or appointment?
7Really, he’s a judge? How can you be a judge when you have no judgment?
The picture’s perfect. Thank you John. TITO: Trash in trash out. Only, the vodka’s more fun.
Rick @4 “It’s a cowards way out”. LOL!
8Hmmm! Louie sounds like he’s not having any fun! Its them damn wussies! He hasn’t yet figured out that if he and his ilk shut down the government he doesn’t get paid. And some other people that are downright more important than he is – like doctors and nurses at the VA Hospitals and in the public clinics, forest rangers and ambulance drivers and shucks soldiers sailors and aviators – won’t get paid either. But what the hell. Louie and his posse want to teach somebody a lesson but I’m guessin’ its gonna be Louie at the sticky end of a teachable moment.
9According to Wiki,Gomer was elected to a judgeship and served for 10 years(re-elected 3 times) and was appointed by Guv Greaseball to Texas court of appeals for a six month term.
10The idea of representing your constituents (as opposed to just the idiots who voted for you) in an honorable way, seems to have gone by the wayside some time ago. I can’t imagine what Louie thinks he’s doing. Nor, his cohorts in the GOP who think their time is best spent on finding ways to impeach the President. Like, there aren’t other, more important, issues facing the country right at the moment.
11Rick — exactly so! Amen!
12Is Carnival Cruz one of those terror babies that Louie is so upset about?
13Rick — excellent comment! too bad they would be covered by insurance, though … unless of course they defunded that first.
BarbinDC — No offense to any of my many Texas friends, but ever since I moved to Texas 13 years ago it seems as though none of the TX folks representing me in DC seem to understand the concept of representing all of their constituents, not just the ones that elected them. You should see the responses I get from any of my Congressmen to emails I send them on one issue or another. Lamar Smith, John Cornyn, they at least reply (though with slow talk to the dumb “little gal” who thinks she’s smart enuf to understand). Teddy the Terrorist doesn’t even bother to reply. Speaking of which, letters to other Congressional leaders (ie McConnell, Boehner, Cantor) don’t even go thru — their websites state that in order to handle their own constituents’ issues, they cannot take letters from those not in their districts. Then they ask for your zip code.
14JuJuBee–I’ve been a Texas resident all my life but I haven’t been “represented” in most of the last 20 years. These guys don’t care about the people who live in their districts–including most of the ones who voted for them because they were too dumb to see through the veil. Welcome to the club.
15Unfortunately Mike Lee is my senator. I apologize to the rest of Juanita Jean’s customers. We have another politician up in UT that wants to abolish mandatory Public Education. Allan Osmond is his name. He is giving Louie a run for his money in my estimation.
