People are Still Coming
Most of the people here – including me – are under the trees
they just shut down the public wifi.
Kirk Watson speaking. He’s the senator who spoke at the end to continue the filibuster. He’s introducing Leticia and Wendy. Good guy. Hope he runs for Lt Gov.
1:09. Wendy is speaking. The crowd goes nuts.

1Thank you gramiam, now we can be there in more than just spirit!
2I see a lot of orange. It sure is a pretty color.
3Wow! Proof positive that there exists lots of intelligence in the Great State of Texas. Now to cast out the demons who have invaded and cause fits that cause heads to twist around to kiss their own asses.
4Go Juanita! Yes! Women and Men of Texas – you can make a change.
No problem, Deb. I have twin granddaughters out there who live in Austin. They just turned 18 and are very much affected by this legislation. Happily for me, they take after me and their Dad! LOL!
5“shut down the public wifi”
That sounds very totali-scarian to me. Was it shut down to prevent you from organizing, or shut down due to being overwhelmed or what?
6This is Texas totalitarianism! now, what do you think?
7If it was done to prevent the public from organizing – well, shades of Iran.
8Senate apparently has just recessed until next week. On the abortion bill, House committee hearings will take place beginning mid-afternoon tomorrow. Notices of committee hearings must be posted 24 hours in advance. Official notice will be posted this afternoon.
9I suspect that the public WiFi is unable to cope with the volume of devices trying to connect. Same thing may be happening to mobile service. Here at the Snake Collich they add temporary extra “towers” around the stadium on game weekends to try to cope with the extra load. And I recall that Reliant Stadium had WiFi connectivity issues as well. But you ought to have some kind of Twitter hashtag that can be accessed via SMS.
10Okay. House is adjourned until 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9. Senate stands in recess until 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9. Committee hearing on abortion bill to be posted soon for mid-afternoon tomorrow. Online applications for testimony will be taken, and hopefully be handled in a more orderly manner than a couple weeks ago.
11I watched Wendy’s speech online. Teared me up!
12The Lege is supposed to be in session for 30 days. Do the members of the Lege get paid for all of that time even when they are in recess? Or is their compensation pro-rated for the empty time?
13Every news channel on my cable tv is carrying Texas or Wendy or both! Way to go!
14It is very refreshing to see so many people protesting. I literally have tears in my eves. Wish I was physically able to be there.
