Well, My Goodness
It appears that Mr. Follow-the-Rules Ted Cruz is only in America because his Dad bribed some guy.
How ’bout them apples?
In a report Thursday on NPR about how Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) father shaped his vision on immigration, his father, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, an immigrant from Cuba, said that while he “came to this country legally,” he basically bribed an official to get to the United States.
“A friend of the family — a lawyer friend of my father basically bribed a Batista official to stamp my passport with an exit permit,” the elder Cruz said.
So surely, armed with this information, Cruz will go stand on the border with his hand out.
Thanks to Carol for the heads up.
I didn’t say nuthin’. I really din’t hafta.
1Pffffft!
2Well, the Repubs do support the free market.
3I’ll bet my worn out slippers and a bag of apple cores Ted will man up and self deport . . . . . No?
4Well, his father’s middle name does translate to “Welcome”, right? Unless he added that after he paid his way in.
5I figured it was something like that. Daddy Cruz got into this country with a helluva a lot more speed than other Cuba Libre’s do! Especially for a Fidelisto. Next bet: an old black and white snapshot turns up of Daddy Cruz in full Fidelisto uniform cradling a Russian made weapon like it was a newborn baby. This will happen just when Cruz announces his Presidential candidacy.
6One of the online stories about this today also said that Daddy Cruz didn’t become a US citizen until a little over a year ago… he had been a Canadian citizen all those years until Teddy decided to run for office, I guess. I am also guessing that there were some additional shenanigans getting his US documents in order to become a legal US citizen, since the line for citizenship is very long and it helps to have someone greasing the wheels. Just saying…..
Birthers would be all over this story if Cruz was a Democrat.
Ted Cruz is a cunning, side-winding snake without any redeeming value. Slimeball.
7This is gonna be FUN!!!!
8In a McDonalds waiting for a torrential storm to ease up, I saw a TV ad– I think it was on CNN but not sure– of Ted Cruz urging everyone to support abolishing the IRS. Apparently he thinks Ricky the Magic Pixie will pay for all the government services that everyone will howl about if they’re cut off.
Is he that dumb or that cynical? Either way I think he should get a lot less attention, because it’s impolite to stare at the mentally ill.
9Soooo, basically he couldn’t have become anything OTHER than a Republican.
