WOW! Six Jobs Making Guns in a Beer Town. Way to Go, Governor Perry!

May 02, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

As you know, Governor Goofy has been traveling all over the USofA trying to steal jobs from other states.  These trips have been no small expense for the people of Texas because we have to pay for his gallivanting to foreign states.

But, it looks like it was almost worth it.  If, of course, you define worth it as being adding tons of guns to a town that already brews tons of beer.

When Texas Gov. Rick Perry reached out to draw [California] gun shop and training center Shield Tactical to Shiner, company president John W. Harrington had a rapid-fire response – yes.

For now, the company is operating with six employees, Harrington said, but the goal is to have 15 employees..

Shiner is home to Spoetzl Brewery, the birthplace of Shiner Beer, where the new motto will be “Guns and Beer:  Less Accuracy, More Fun.”

Now, I’m not saying that mixing beer and guns is exactly a bad idea.  But, I just hope that when Jesus comes back he doesn’t land in Shiner, Texas.

And as far as those six whole jobs, well hell, watch out Richie Rich because Texas is on the way!  We can probably cut taxes by $1,500 a person on that alone, right Governor?

  1. Perry is…beyond description. I think I’ll go stick my head in a bucket of Blue Bell–that might cool me off.

Like Shiner Bock, pretty good beer.

  4. One of my favorite billboards in Austin was: Shiner Bock, goes through hundreds of Quality Chech’s Daily!

  5. Late at night, after quite a few beers, everyone remaining in the bar starts to look a lot hotter. Does that also work when electing governors? It would explain a lot about Perry.

  6. I’m quite sure California ain’t crying over losing Harrington.

  7. How much has been spent to get those 6 jobs? I am pretty sure it has not been cost-effective.

I wonder how much in incentives Gov Good Hair gave them?
    It costs money to move.

    Just saying……

If Texas’s bidness climate is so great, why does Perry think it needs his help attracting more bidness? Could it be that he likes travel for non-bidness reasons???

  10. It is a given that Goodhair is not staying at a Motel 6.

Now, I wonder what the cost per job would be if you divided all the money he has spent on this CA trip by the 6 low pay jobs he may have snagged

How can you wonderful folks in my beloved Texas afford this guy?

As many have commented on here, I miss Molly Ivins, but JJ, you are rapidly filling her shoes.

You know, Shiner is located in Lavaca County, which is part of the Texas 27th Congressional District and currently represented by that other great business builder, Blake Farenthold.

When Perry had that big wing-dingy shindig on Wednesday to welcome Shield Tactical to town, do you think Farenthold was there too? You remember Blake – the legislator who wants the shoot-’em-up makers to all relocate to his district.

Farenthold would have been easily recognizable. Just look for the nimrod in the blue PJs printed with the yellow duckies. Somehow, walking around in public like that just screams sex offender.

Perry’s “junket” was just a cover for him to milk the taxpayers and get some publicity for his presidential ass-pirations. Farenthold is an Alfred E. Neumann-on steroids look-alike and that picture in his ducky P.J.’s should be sent to all the major news agencies to show what passes for guv’mint in Texas.
Yeah, more guns and beer should just about do it.

  13. As governor, Perry can spend $$ getting jobs from other states. If he were president, where will he get the jobs from? Other countries? I do believe that other countries are filled with socialists and/or brown skinned people. Does Perry want them in ‘Merrika?

Remind me to NOT go to Shiner when we are back in Texas. I usually became the designated driver in Shiner..BUT..with that new state company, and having out of state plates now, I don’t want to become a moving target..
Of course, since my plates are from Florida, maybe the new state gun company will remember we have Baldo here as governator…and he and GoodHair are buddies..in crime and greed.

I see why ya’ll commizzerate on here…otherwise you’ll drown in stoopid! There don’t look to be enuf shite on the ground in Texas for them to step in, but they seem to find it somewhere…guess they bring it with ’em.
