Yeah, Because You Can Always Trust Republicans With Guns
What could possibly go wrong?
Sen. Glenn Hegar said it is unfair for students with concealed handgun licenses to be prohibited from keeping a firearm in their cars while they go into class.
That’s why Hegar, R-Katy, proposed SB 1907, which passed out of the Senate on Tuesday and into the House for further debate. But there’s a caveat: Campus carry cannot be attached as an amendment.
Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, asked Hegar for his assurance that an amendment to allow students to bring firearms into college buildings would not be smuggled into the final bill.
First off, I would not trust Glen Hegat as far as I can throw him. Hegar is so crooked that he has to screw on his socks in the morning. I can almost promise you that once this gets to the floor, Hegar’s recall will need an overhaul and he’ll work himself into a verbal lather and holler that it’s unfair, unfair I tell you, that students have to keep their guns in their cars where people can steal them. What English 305 really needs is a couple of hidden handguns to keep the nerds from breaking the voting curve.
You can dance this all over the floor but it’s still a bad idea.
You’ll notice that Hegar cannot give one example where a gun in a school parking lot has done something good. I can promise you that all you’re doing is arming drug dealers in parking lots.
Texas has 99 problems but getting more guns in the hands of kids ain’t one of them.

3I have a drivers license, and it is unfair that I cannot drive into locked, gated communities. Or places with roads that say Private Property, Keep Out. I have a sales tax license and it is unfair that I cannot sell anything I want, such as restricted substances. I have a dog license and it is unfair that my dog can’t go anywhere, or do anything she wants. Because right now, she really wants to take a crap in Glenn Hegar’s front yard.

I peruse the DMN website daily since I do live up here in the north of Dallas (Frisco) area. I can’t read all of the content since I don’t subscribe to the DMN but I often read the public content, i.e. blogs and often find these “nuggets”.
The crazy is all loose down there in Austin! Oh how I wish Molly Ivins was around to see these Teabaggers in action in the Lege!

Why can’t I just carry one openly to class. think of the leverage that would give me when trying to get my point across to instructors and students.
The idea of carrying guns on any school ground is so wrong that it should be obvious. These so-called “Christians” are so in love with guns that we should really call them “Gunions”.

Feb. 8, 2008, Baton Rouge, La.-A nursing student shot and killed two women and then herself in a classroom at Louisiana Technical College.
Feb. 14, 2008, DeKalb, Ill.-Gunman killed five students and then himself, and wounded 17 more when he opened fire on a classroom at Northern Illinois University. The gunman, Stephen P. Kazmierczak, was identified as a former graduate student at the university in 2007.
March 9, 2010, Columbus, Ohio-A man opens fire at Ohio State University, killing two employees and wounding one other. The shooter had recently received an “unsatisfactory” job evaluation and was going to be fired on March 13.
May 10, 2011, San Jose, Calif.-Three people were killed in a parking garage at San Jose State University. Two former students were found dead on the fifth floor of the garage. A third, the suspected shooter, died later at the hospital.
Dec. 8, 2011, Blacksburg, Va.-A Virginia Tech police officer was shot and killed by a 22-year old student of Radford University. The shooting took place in a parking lot on Virginia Tech’s campus.

11Just out of curiosity, does the law allow people to carry guns into Senator Hegar’s workplace? If not, why not?

“We counted 80 dead and injured, but what happened to the robber?”
“Well, he wasn’t carrying a weapon, so no one shot him and he walked out after the shooting died down.”
All good comments…I don’t understand why Repugs and Tea Baggers want to arm students. I am old enough to remember Kent State, when the students didn’t have guns and, if they had, it would have been a warzone! As my friend Cookie always says “If you understood their stupidity, you would be stupid too.”
16So…they can leave their guns in their cars while they’re in class? So they can be stolen? I mean…seriously…what would a person breaking into a car to look for goodies want more than a gun, huh?
