Yesterday in Guns

April 21, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

First, in South Texas, Mr. Show Off showed off, shooting himself in the head  …

The incident happened just after two Saturday morning. According to police, the man was with his friends at the Aloha Men’s Club, when the victim got a gun from his friend. As they were leaving, the man pulled the gun out to show it off and that’s when the gun went off.

Then the police chief in Medina, Ohio, shot himself in the thigh.

Chief Berarducci was holstering his Smith & Wesson .40 caliber Shield handgun when the trigger guard got caught and discharged a round into his upper thigh.

Which is exactly why I am not buying one of these.    You can bet that some damfool woman is gonna blow her ta-tas all the way to Oklahoma with this little dohickey.

Thanks to Carl for the heads up.

  1. I keep wondering “when” these states are going to create laws against “accidental” shooting – there is NOTHING accidental about pulling out a gun, or there should not be ANYTHING accidental about pulling out a gun~for ANY REASON~

  3. JJ,

This article is so good, maybe think about doing weekly “Shootings in America” each week?

  4. Shot himself in the head while showing off his gun?! Was his holster or pocket that held the gun, around his neck that his hand is up that high when he pulls out the gun? Or was he really that stupid to deliberately point it at his head? Maybe his head wound will make him smarter from now on although that seems highly doubtful as he’s dumber than a box of rocks.

Daily Kos does a weekly “Gun Fail” diary. It’s a real eye-opener.This one is from April 19:

  6. Maybe instead of gun control we just need to make gun owners 100% legally responsible (criminal and civil) for whatever their guns get up to.

This would apply even to stolen guns since they claim to need guns to protect themselves and their property. If their property gets stolen, they’ve failed as responsible gun owners.

And enhanced penalties would attach if the gun falls into the hands of a three- or four-year old.

  7. Back in the days when handgun meant ‘revolver’ and every cowhand carried one (some still do, usually on the saddle rather than one’s hip), one cylinder was deliberately left empty to avoid accidental discharges. A full load was limited to professional gunmen, on the presumption that they were so expert that when they pulled trigger, it would never be by accident. The common term for a dangerous man was one who had ‘six beans in the wheel’.

Unfortunately, nothing is fool-proof because Nature keeps coming up with better fools.

  8. If only these armed fools were just maiming and killing themselves, one could chalk it up to thinning the herd of gun nuts. The sad fact is that they are maiming and killing others, in many cases children, hence the screaming need for regulation.

  9. Too bad the idiot at the Aloha Club didn’t say “Aloha” to his brains but the bullet must have missed the little bit of brains he obviously has!

And the shooting up in Denver was at the 4/20 mass pot smoking get-together they have every year in Colorado … some stoner must have tried to swipe another stoner’s stash … good enough reason to shoot someone! Guess they aren’t as mellowed out as some would think they would be with all that pot smoke in the air!

What a bunch of idiots!! “Idiot” seems to be a favorite word of mine lately!!

  12. “Americans cannot be trusted with firearms.”

“They can’t be trusted to own them. Even if it’s their Constitutional right. Every week brings a new lesson in this. Toddlers finding them in the home, firing them. Young males borrowing them to slaughter schoolmates. Americans can’t be trusted with the most basic elements of weapon ownership: lock the thing. Keep them out of the reach of toddlers and the unstable and the violent. Treat them as if they were what they are: deadly.”

“But why should Americans be responsible with guns? Congress is not. Congress cannot be trusted with firearms. In fact, if Senator Lindsay Graham is any measure, it makes you wonder if Congress can still be trusted with the Constitution.”

  13. Your link to the young lady who, while showing off her very nice features from the neck down, demonstrated the use of different holsters to conceral her guns in different modes of dress. I kept waiting for a demo on how she conceals her gun while wearing a bikini. Did not happen.

Uhh, that last thing, what does the holster company have for women who would have to conceal their firearms under, say, Radio Flyer wagons rather than Winnebagos?
