Having seen first hand what Alzheimer’s can do to a person, I don’t wish it on anyone. But I think in the case of Charlton Heston, he got much of what he deserved!

5At the moment I’m working up an email list of several members of the Neanderthal side of our family where I can send this link. I’m sorry to admit that that I’m personally acquainted with some folks like this, but one of the problems about being a parent is that you don’t get to choose the parents and aunts and uncles of the kids that your kids are going to marry. Anyway, some of them been a pain in the ass lately on the issues of assault weapons, large magazines, etc. i can’t even tip a beer with them without their getting all worked up about their Second Amendment rights and blaming the White House incumbent for everything from their toenail fungus to their premature ejaculation problems. Might as well get them to look at the Carey video and be rid of their company once and for all. if they don’t shoot me first.

Reading some of the comments on the daily news link and a couple of other sites about this video apparently verifies it must be quite an effective message delivery getting under the saddle/skin of the gun nuts. All the immaturity of overloaded testosterone juveniles vomiting out of woodwork testifies to its veracity. These nra-nderthals are the last ones who should retain any weapon of a larger caliber than a 5-round squirt gun.
8I love it. I’m a fan of Jim anyway. He has a great heart and was one of the first people to donate $1 million to the 9/11 fund. I’ve posted Cold Dead Hand to Facebook, emailed it and bought the song. It’s my anthem now. It takes a lot of guts to make yourself a target of the NRA, and to make fun on their icon, Heston. Keep on keepin’ on, Jim! We’ve got your back.

Sure it’s going to piss off a lot of people. So what? A lot of us are pissed about the positions taken by the NRA. (Sorry Momma). If the video makes some people uncomfortable, so be it.
A lot of us are weary of losing family, friends, neighbors, and even perfect strangers (especially when they are babies) to gun violence.
Some of us are grateful for anyone with the courage to speak out against the so-called “gun culture” in this country. Especially when it makes you laugh, instead of cry.

#Umpty, Maybe I should take a page out of that playbook….my daughter’s FIL is a John-Birch-conspiracy-theory type. I was having fun baiting him at family gatherings–especially since he didn’t even realize he was being baited–but dear daughter put the kibosh on me when her MIL began to catch on.
