Oh Yeah, Because Not Enough Felons Have Guns

March 22, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

If there is one thing lacking in this country, it is judges standing up for the right of felons to possess firearms.

An Orleans Parish judge on Thursday ruled that the state statute forbidding certain felons from possessing firearms is unconstitutional, in the wake of a constitutional amendment passed last year that made the right to bear arms a fundamental one in Louisiana.

So, thanks to the NRA, Louisiana gives convicted felons the right to breathe or go to church or enjoy free speech, they must also give them a gun.  On the upside, it’s an outside the box thinking about population control.

Lawyers threw a pile of papers at each other over this because lawyers throw papers at each other the way ancient men threw spears, but the court has ruled so now it heads to the Louisiana Supreme Court when three members of the Duck Dynasty familhy serve as justices.  Would I kid about something like that?  Of course, I would.

Oh, and Bobby Jindal is just so excited about this new freedom.

Thanks to Julie for the heads up.

  1. I’m beginning to think I’m in a third world nation. Women’s rights are being carefully monitored by old white men (and as an old white woman I resent that), kids have to be taught JC rode a dinosaur to Last Supper, you can’t vote unless you provide a family tree dating back to the Stone Age but you can always get a gun?

  2. Criminy~The guys at Duck Dynasty would be more responsible and have a better understanding of the Second Amendment.

  3. It was in my native state the gun manufacturers were first able to get the legislature to exempt them from any legal action resulting from the user of guns. When W43 (aka Idiot Son) got into office (oh! rue the day!!) they got that law passed nationally.

Gov. Jindal is trying to make a rep so-s he can run for president. Good luck with that Bobbie.

All part of the NRA’s plan. See, the NRA exists to sell guns – it’s funded by the gun manufacturers. And what’s the one thing that gets otherwise rational non-hunters to purchase guns?

Why, the threat of criminals with guns – of course!

So, the more felons with guns, the bigger the threat of being attacked by a felon with a gun. The bigger the threat, the greater the probability that fear outweighs reason and some poor fool that’s never fired a gun in their lives buys a firearm “for protection.”

Never mind that the only thing more dangerous than a felon with a gun is an untrained schmuck with a loaded firearm. Scary criminals! Must. Buy. Gun.

Ka-ching! Ring up another sale, Jocko!

  6. This is what you get for drafting language you don’t understand into a constitution. If they invoked fundamental rights doctrine, the ruling is correct.

  7. Meantime. Since Newtown…

Over 2,200 more gun deaths in this country.

But, we aren’t supposed to think about this. We have basketball brackets to fill out, and games to watch.

Don’t know how many more little coffins it’s going to take, but apparently there haven’t been enough, (not as yet anyway.) So, we keep putting guns in the hands of people who shouldn’t have them.
