Turning Texas Blue

March 17, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I am proud to announce that we had a bigger crowd at a Texas Democratic Party workshop in my hometown yesterday than Donald Trump had at CPAC.

Bubba stood where he was seated to take this picture so he missed about half the room.  You’ll also notice that he didn’t get me in the picture.  I’m speaking and he left me out of the picture.  Forty three years together and he left me out of the picture.

I also want you to notice the diversity in the room – white, Hispanic, African American, and Asian.

So I have something to say to Republicans.  GAME ON!

Be social and share!

  1. Not exactly the same thing but he left himself out of the picture, too.

In my 14 years living in Texas, me and my lefty views were freakin’ ALONE among my circle of friends. Glad to see some organizing to change that.

  2. Thanks for being a “real” ‘Merikan…I wish I had your energy to do what it is going to take to push the wingers out..

  3. Are you telling us that he… didn’t take a picture of you while you were speaking to this lovely crowd?

  4. Hey, no fair, JJ…the Republicans gotz diversity, too:

You want us to come tickle Bubba to death? Of course you gotta keep in mind that you pretty much got him broke in; 43 years is a big investment. Just tell him we’re embarrassed for you that he din’t catch your beautiful self on the camera/phone/iPad/whatever.

  6. My wife also complains that she isn’t in many of our event pictures. I, at least, have an excuse. She was taking most of the pictures. Shucks, you’ve got a lead on her. You got a camera in Bubba’s hands. Then again, we’ve only been together 37 years and I’m a slooow learner.

In Bubba’s defense, he probably figured everybody already knows how good lookin’ you are. The news story here is how good lookin’ the crowd is!

  8. JJ, I think Bubba was just being mindful that y’all are Blue in a sea of Texas red!

With 43 years together, neither of you is out of the others’ picture.

  10. HATE that I missed this — esp. since you were a headliner. And GAME ON! hell to the yes. In fact, just ordered my Battleground Texas bumper sticker this week. Will look mighty fine on my swaggin’ in the carpool line…Right behind that damn Lexus with the “Repeal Obamacare” sticker (driven by a, you guessed it, 60 year old white man)

  11. Awesome!! Yup, Texas is turning Blue…

  12. Sam in Kyle says:

I know there was diversity at CPAP because I saw video of them kicking an African-American out of the meeting. If that’s not inclusiveness, what is?

You did pull in quite a crowd. I saw the paltry few who came to hear the Donald at CPAC. They must all been over at the “segregation” panel.

  14. People seem to love it when the bluebonnets bloom, so hopefully you can turn Texas blue in November as well. Then when the people your Republicans have ignored, alienated, and otherwise ostracized come out and vote, the former governors, representatives and various other officials can have a picnic over at one of Mitt Romney’s houses to discuss what went wrong. Or as the rest of us would call it, what went right.

  15. Michael Cooper says:

My condolences on Bubba’s imminent demise.

    15
  16. Love how so many speakers at CPAC are asking, “How can we get our message across?” Dude, it’s getting across. A lot of people really don’t like it.

Best to you Texans in getting your much better message across to lots of people and then getting them out to vote!

  17. YAH..HOOO!! You go girl… RIDE them Redhorns right out of Texas on a rail. Hope that fever is catching in a lot of other Red states. GO DEMS GO!

    17
  18. Kenneth Fair says:

Bubba may not have captured you, but he captured my wife – right in the center of the picture. Hi Lavinia!

    18
  19. JJ, I’m not surprised at the crowd size. You’re a lot smarter than the Donald. I applaud your efforts to turn Texas blue.

  20. Marge Wood says:

I think we’re all just jealous that we weren’t in the Amen Pews.

  21. The part of the diversity that I like is that there are a really good number of older people there. As an older person myself, I find this encouraging.

  22. Cheryl Ann says:

I also noticed a lot of women in the room! Go girls, you know who is looking out for you!
