Our Own Stephen’s Letter to the Editor

March 13, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Stephen has given me permission to share his excellent letter to the editor:

According to Sarah Palin government should stay out of our refrigerators (her response to NYC’s attempt to ban large-size sugary sodas). However, it is permissible, according to conservatives, for government to invoke policies concerning a woman’s vagina. It appears that conservative parameters for government intrusion are defined by temperature levels.

I seriously doubt that she even thought about the comparison. Of course, I seriously doubt that she can think

  2. Woot!

  3. Excellent. Reminds me of one of George Carlin’s monologues on the unborn:
“Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren’t they? They are all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn, but once you’re born, your on your own. . . After that, they don’t want to know about you. They don’t want to hear from you. . . no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you’re pre-born, you’re fine; if you’re preschool, you’re clucked.”

  4. Kudos to Stephen’s Momma for raising a true gentleman!

  5. Ralph Wiggam says:

There is room for some real science here. If we can determine the exact temperature at which conservatives switch over from ‘not regulate’ to ‘regulate’ we could use that knowledge to rule the WORLD! (and use our power for good and not evil, of course)

  6. Stephen Weinstein says:

This also helps us to understand the conservatives’ denial of global warming. If the planet was experiencing global freezing the political right would be all over it like white on rice.

My old buddy “Fryer” Tuck called to say that, as far as conservative ladies’ parts and refrigerators (and Christine O’Donnell’s tetas) “ain’t but a degree or two’s worth of difference.”

He declines to say if that’s from experience!

    All true.

Just what the heck is she hiding in that refrigerator? I shudder at the thought.

  10. Elizabeth Berry reminds me that Virginia legislators, who wanted to stick a probe up every woman who wanted an abortion, and who are doing their best to regulate out of existence the women’s health clinics which provide abortions, all in the name of “saving the innocent little babies,” doesn’t give a flying frack about the little buggers once they’re born. In a stunning display of hypocrisy, day-care centers in VA are subject to no regulations whatsoever if they’re church-run. No inspections, no training requirements, no limits on number of infants per adult, nada. A number of “innocent little babies” have died because of this.

Born? You’re on your own, kid.

  11. Stephen: Good job stating the obvious & having the courage to put it out there, too.

    “Caring only for pre-born babies,
    but not the pre-school babies,
is where the line is drawn,
    and the gauntlet is thrown.”

We need that on t-shirts sold on CafeMom.com & other such mommy blogs until they roar loud enough for Congress to pay attention. Remember “soccer moms” power?
