Listen Up, Dammit.

February 20, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The government is not coming for your guns.  Hell, last I heard, they’re not coming for your mail either.

Listen up, dammit, the arms merchants you dudes are making rich are having themselves a heckuva party down in their bunker, safe from you.

Numero Uno Whack Job:  Rep. Mike Leara in Missouri may take the cake.

Rep. Mike Leara said Tuesday his bill is a statement of principle. It would make lawmakers guilty of a felony punishable by up to four years in prison if they introduce legislation restricting gun rights.

So you can’t even talk about gun rights without it being a felony? On the upside, Leara admits that his bill probably won’t pass. I dunno, maybe that’s because the other members of the Missouri House are … uh, Americans?

Coming up on Numero Two Whack Job: Steve Toth of Texas.

State Rep. Steve Toth (R-The Woodlands) has filed legislation assisting the protection of the Second Amendment of the United State Constitution. The ‘Firearms Protection Act’ or HB 1076 would make any federal law banning semi-automatic firearms or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state’s boundaries.

And if that works, we can start talking about women’s right to vote not being a real Texas thing.  We can talk about it.  This is America, where we have free speech.  (Offer not valid in Missouri.)

Thanks to Brian and Kyle for the heads up.

  1. Why couldn’t Brian and Kyle keep this stuff to themselves???
I’m so scared, I’m even afraid to watch the Cooking channel anymore!

  2. Ralph Wiggam says:

Among my first political memories is when Eisenhower sent the 101st Airborne Division into Little Rock to instruct our governor, Orval Faubus, that he would not be allowed to defy the federal government. Later I watched Kennedy pull the same trick on George Wallace and Ross Barnett.

It’s kinda hard to believe that people still need to be taught that lesson. Granted, not everyone lived through that era, but even Wikipedia knows more than these two dolts.

  3. Whaddaya talking about JJ? The govmint is coming for our mail. And we’ve got to stop this right in it’s tracks. First they take away Saturday delivery, then what’s next? No Wednesday delivery? Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution, known as the Postal Clause or the Postal Power, specifically empowers Congress “To establish Post Offices and post Roads”. The founding fathers in their infinite wisdom probably gave us the right to Saturday delivery… I’m forming the NPA, National Postal Association.

  4. Marge Wood says:

Heck, if I can just get women out to VOTE I’ll be happy. For a few minutes at least. Right now I’ve lost my credit card. That is irrelevant here but I just tossed it out for a diversion. It IS true. You think the Repubs will find some secret message in it?

  5. Corinne Sabo says:

Does this protect the ‘right’ to buy guns and re-sell them to the drug cartels?

  6. If the 2nd Amendment trumps the 1st, why is it the 2nd Amendment? I’m confused.
