The World’s Indispensable Nation

January 23, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Tell your daughters that this is how it’s done.  She made GOP Senator Ron Johnson look like a petty fool.  And then she showed the power of words —

“My faith in our country and our future is stronger than ever. Every time that blue and white airplane carrying the words ‘United States of America’ touches down in some far-off capital, I feel again the honor it is to represent the world’s indispensable nation. And I am confident that, with your help, we will continue to keep the United States safe, strong, and exceptional.”

And I don’t want to hear anyone else say that she looks tired.  She looks amazing.  She is amazing.  And 65% of Americans hold a favorable view of her.

Sic ‘um, Hillary.  If you do nothing else today, go see her and then stand and applaud.

Be social and share!

  1. I think you better check her approval rating again. I have a feeling it went up a few more points today.

  2. She does look amazing. And sounds sounds even better. Her voice is clear, her words are fearless. It’s obvious that she is having to TEACH those gormless men just what government is all about. I had to stop watching when Rand Paul started his yammering. My stomach can’t deal with him, not even to watch Secretary Clinton’s reply.

  3. I watched that video and a couple of others of her afterward. She’s amazing and continues to astound me with her poise and presence. It will be a great loss to our country if she is permanently retiring from public service.

  4. I think the thing that amazes me most about Hillary is her patience. The closest she came to loosing it was when she had to remind the Senate-idiots that they had chosen to under fund the State Department’s security budget in spite of repeated requests to do otherwise. In case you are curious, the pontificating finger pointers (most notably Paul and McCain), cut that portion of the budget by 10%! It would have been difficult for most people I know, not to have followed up that observation with a question along the lines of, “Now Senator, in light of your failure to provide us with the money we need to protect our people, do you really want to point fingers about responsibility???”

  5. Hillary was simply terrific. McCain just took up all his time just pontificating, and Rand Paul is more than awful. Paul is at the lowest end of the human race.

  6. The clip was from Fox… which reminded me of how they were all up in the air with speculation about the fainting, the concussion, the flu were all a guise to avoid testifying before their august body. All a bunch of pitiful whiners and flame fanners.

  7. I would give anything to trade our senator Johnson for Hillary. Not that I want him in her place either. He can go off to do something else, I don’t care what.

  8. Why not tell your sons this is how it’s done? Secretary Clinton’s accomplishment and brilliance are not gender specific. Nor are they more remarkable because she is a woman. Daughters and sons alike should aspire to this level of competence.

  9. As someone who has been lucky enough for the past 35 years to be employed by truly gifted lawyers, I must say it is terrific to watch Hillary, a very gifted and experienced lawyer, take these imbecile Bagger congressvarmints to task. Most of them have done nothing in their pathetic lives~

    9
  10. This is my best birthday gift of all. Keep after them Hillary! make ‘um say “Uncle (or Aunt?)” at least 10 times.

  11. Bud Malone says:

Her exchange with Johnson was pure debate 101. Paul once again laid claim to idiot of the day.

    11
  12. I watched much of the hearing online this afternoon. Hillary stood her ground, forcefully, with competence and class. Bravo!

    12
  13. Deb … I am using your response in here for a response on my Facebook page to some idiot who seems to think all Hillary does is lie … Yes, the idiot is a Republican female! I swear they are as bad as the males!

    13
  14. Well, I decided not to drop that in on Facebook as a comment on a Channel 5 News entry because all the other comments are all Republican-based … they all are yelling how Hillary is just lying about everything! Those types wouldn’t know the truth of a matter even if it smacked them across the face! I’d be wasting comment space!!

    14
  15. Kelly Amundsen says:

Hillary Clinton… on of the best Secretary of State that America ever had, and perhaps one day… Madam President!

    15
  16. I watched most of the House hearing this afternoon. Hillary had to tell several committee members to read the reports. One member was so unprepared that he simply read a letter to the editor that he found in a newspaper and asked her to answer the questions that the writer asked in his letter. There was a clear difference between those who are intelligent and were well-prepared and the posturing, grandstanding baggers.

    16
  17. I want to clarify the difference between McCain and Hillary. They both lost to Obama. She went on to become a fantastic Secretary of State – and support the President. McCain went on to become an obstructionist Senator, stewing in his bitter bile at losing. History won’t be kind to him.

    17
  18. I’m sorry to say Johnson represents my state. But there’s hope up here in the frigid north. We elected Tammy Baldwin to the Senate in Nov. Hopefully in two years we’ll vote Gov. Walker out of office.

    18
  19. Don’t forget Hillary not only endured Bill Clinton’s behavior AND ran for president, she did all of that while doing her job as FLOTUS & Senator, too. Those ‘boys’ know she is one tough woman! They put on a show for C-Span so their staff could embed a clip of them on their website for donors… which gets emailed to their constituents. Follow the money cause it’s ALWAYS about the MONEY, honey… and Hillary knows that just as well as those boys do.

    19
  20. I supported 3 women even though I am not their constituent & they were elected. They will become powerhouses in the Senate & House the longer they serve – just watch them:

    Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-ILL)
    Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)
    Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO)

Sen. Barbara Mukulski (D-MD) is a major power broker now that she has seniority. Interesting to see how she’ll handle her role as Chair of the Appropriations Committee AND her constituents’ interests is keeping the level of military budgets.

There will be major ‘junk-yard dog’ fights over spending these next 4 years & we’ll see who feels ‘entitled’ then!
