Say What, Steve Stockman?

January 23, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I introduced you to newly elected (for the second time) Texas Congressweirdo Steve Stockman.  He’s odd.  And not in that good way that’s amusing.

Come to find out, Stockman, who leaves a trail of question marks behind himself wherever he goes, may not qualify for a gun permit to carry.  He probably couldn’t pass a background check.  He’s been to jail, been a vagrant, said some crazy crap, and even lived on the streets with a guy who “saw things in trees” that weren’t there.  But, hell, Stockman thinks even the tree guy should be able to tote a weapon.

He’s threatening to impeach President Barack Obama for his executive orders.

Is this a great country or what?

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

  1. The country is great, the RePig politicians are imbeciles.

    Bless his heart.

  3. Braxton Braggart says:

Steve “One-and-Done” Stockman was my U.S. Rep in the 95-97 term; it takes a special kind of teh stoopid for a Republican incumbent not to get re-elected in deep red Texas. (Neither Louie Gohmert or Joe Barton can claim that particular distinction.) The only way Stockman managed a win this time was to run in a newly-created district with no incumbent.

My only advice to Rep. Stockman is to rent a place in DC; he’s not likely to be there long.

  4. Wait! Do they do background checks?

For a couple of days I’ve had a very interesting “back and forth” with a person on Huffpost comments….. who signs off on his comments with “Semper Fi.” So, for the sake of argument, I’m assuming he’s either a current or ex-Marine. I don’t know for sure…. but if he served this country, I respect that.

Our area of disagreement is whether or not Stevie Wonder should have a gun. Believe it or not…. right now…. blind people have as much right to own a gun….. as the guy in the tree.

I don’t think Stevie Wonder could get a driver’s license, but he can buy a gun. Mr. Semper Fi thinks that’s just fine and dandy, because it’s his right….. (and all you really need to buy a gun is money.)

I sure do hope they do background checks. But I don’t think they do….. or former convicted felons….. like the guy in Minnesota who killed his mom, served his time….. got out of prison, and compiled an arsenal of 13-14-15 guns, maybe couldn’t have. With a background check. Maybe.

  5. This guy is simply representing his constituency…. an idiot elected by idiots.

  6. Here’s an excellent recap of this lunatic by the always excellent reporting of Mother Jones:

  7. Just read that article in Mother Jones. My God he’s totally insane. Hopefully he will get himself investigated again and end up in jail.

  8. Marines are entitled to disagree…and speaking as one (Vietnam era, stationed at HQMC, which makes me as big a REMF as you can be, but the situation in D.C. at the time was not exactly peaceful) I disagree. I don’t think blind people need, or should have, guns. Not because most blind people would misuse them, but because they’d get stolen really, really fast and the blind person would likely be the first victim of the thief. I also don’t think the Texas lege should have passed that law allowing legally blind persons to get a hunting license. We’ve got damfool hunters like Dick Cheney, who supposedly isn’t legally blind, shooting their friends–we don’t need more hunting “accidents.” Semper Fi, y’all.
