Let’s talk about Linda McMahon, Republican Senate candidate in Connecticut who spent $100 million dollars to lose twice.

Remember how Mitt Romney cancelled staffers’ credit cards so they couldn’t even get home on election night? McMahon took that a few merry skips better.
After the last checks to her staffers bounced, one of them complained to the media. The campaign said, “Yeah, yeah, all a big mistake, checks are in the mail and you know …”
Twaine Don Gomes was one of the people who first complained to News 8. He was handed a check, but he says, the campaign told him they were mad that he came to News 8, so he got a little something extra in his envelope.
“Basically he handed me a check with a condom in it, told me I was screwed,” Gomes said. “That’s the rudest gesture you can ever do to a person, it’s like spitting in a person’s face.”
His check bounced as well.
They told him to go screw himself and then they did it for him.
But, it’s kinda understandable….
In fairness and in defense of Linda McMahon: It’s possible that she needed the money because she’s only worth a mere $500 million and owns a $40 million mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut, a $20 million vacation home and a $12 million penthouse in Manhattan. So, understandably, McMahon had to screw her part time staff over while humiliating them, in order to survive.
And these people are stunned, just stunned, that we did not give them the keys to the US Treasury.

Most state wage laws allow three times what’s owed if you sue. Provided you can prove you did the work and that you weren’t paid. So it’s always worth suing for unpaid wages and commissions. Go get the ignorant slut (to paraphrase SNL)
1Meg Whitman just oversaw a huge loss at HP (http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2012/11/20/h-p-takes-big-hit-on-accounting-improprieties-at-autonomy/). I live in California. We actually had a chance to elect Whitman as our governor and we failed to do so despite all the money she spent on the election. Gee, I guess we really missed out.
2Man, it really IS true–you cannot make this stuff up!! Another thing I am thankful for this holiday weekend is that I am NOT a republican! 😉

4The staffers were trying to get her elected so she could screw over the “little” people; did they really think they were immune?

6And who could forget the TV ad where she “kicked” her husband in the nuts? ‘Nuff said!
7The cancelled credit cards following Mitt’s concession speech were courtesy of the RNC. A lot of the staffers did not know their cards were automatically cancelled upon “closure of the campaign” and tried to pay for cab rides home and to hotels only to have the plastic rejected. The “closure of the campaign” thing is pretty standard stuff. But it does not make me weep for these people!
8A GOP candidate who owns part of the WWF engaging in this kind of behavior? Hard to imagine.
9I think she may be auditioning to join the Romney marriage as a sister-wife. She’s got the behavior down.
10Surely there is a way to get some candidates that actually want to do the job and do not have to finance themselves to promote their vision of destroying America~I still believe it. Would really like to see candidates who go to DC to work for We The People. Perhaps if the current RePigs in the House and Senate would elect some leaders that are not wealthy lobbyists would be a good start. This country needs massive reforms in campaigns and the way Congress should work for Americans, not monied lobbyists.

@LynnN – I agree with you that Meg Whitman would have made a terrible California governor, but I have to stop short in connecting the latest HP financial mess to her political campaign. The $5 billion HP write-down of assets was not her fault; the stable was already full of manure when she walked in the door, and it became her job to shovel it. Her main failing was gullibility and not getting the mess cleared up sooner. She accepted the word of the guy who headed the British company, Autonomy, acquired when Whitman’s predecessor was HP’s CEO. The head of Autonomy did a phenomenal job of cooking his company’s books. HP’s previous CEO, Leo Apotheker, did a lousy job of due diligence when he bought Autonomy.

I’m certainly no fan of Whitman’s, but at the same time I think the beauty salon can steer clear of the Republican modus operandi of making tenuous associations to take cheap shots. They and their Tea Party termites do a great job of embarrassing themselves all on their own, and we’ll have lots of other debacles in the future to cause us to shake our heads.
13@Umptydump, I agree with your post. The GOTP does enough on their own, we don’t have to search to find things to shake our heads over. The article I read said the agreement was made before Whitman was hired.
