Because Mitt Romney Needs the Money, Honey

November 09, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

While it could not possibly happen to a more deserving group of people, here’s a glimpse into the mindset of Mitt Romney’s vision for America if he had won.

NBC News reports that very soon after Mitt Romney’s loss on Election Night, the campaign’s “massive infrastructure” began to come down:

“Aides taking cabs home late that night got rude awakenings when they found the credit cards linked to the campaign no longer worked.

‘Fiscally conservative,’ sighed one aide the next day.”

Mitt couldn’t even spring for the cab ride home.  I guess a billion dollars doesn’t go as far as it used to.

Thanks to Carol and Deb for the heads up.

  1. Looks like the financial office was the only efficient part of the whole campaign, at least for this action. The rest of the money was wasted.
And, oh , btw they were going to use the campaign credit card for a ride home? really? Sounds like they did that before when the credit card worked, FEC are you paying attention?

  2. Compare that to Obama’s moving speech to his campaign workers. It was sincere and emotional. Obama had tears.

    Mitt: Thanks and goodbye, suckers.

  4. What did they expect? I hope they didn’t expect a free ride at a Job Creator®’s expense. They were just hired help who obviously didn’t do their job to Mitt’s standards. Those people need to learn to stand on their own two feet and not expect a handout after they didn’t fulfill their responsibilities to get Mitt elected. Now poor Mitt has to go out and amass more wealth.

After all the years I’ve said that it’s OK, we can’t give up, the truth will win out, the country won’t tolerate being lied to forever etc it just feels soooo good to actually have it happen. The great slumbering beast finally woke and let out a roar.

What totally amazes me is that the Republicans never saw it coming. All this time I thought they were just faking their belief in ‘Baghdad Bob’ Rove and were putting on a game face but really are just as stupid as we expected. Now they’re acting like the school bully who just got his lights punched out by the debate club president and crying because his friends didn’t back him up.

  6. Mittens et al were too shellshocked to take down his “Victory” web page (complete with job applications) until Thursday, but got those cards canceled before sunrise.

But these are the kinds of people those that worked for Rmoney want to run their lives, and our lives.

The video Cheryl posted convinces me that President Obama is the most decent and kind person to occupy the Oval Office in my lifetime. Jimmy Carter has been moved down to 2nd place.

There is one other place where President Obama is shown to be a much better human being than former everything Romney; when President Obama is handed a baby, he obviously enjoys it and the baby does too. Romney always looked like he had never held a baby before in his life and the babies obviously knew it.

  9. The moment the campaign ended these guys became part of the 47%. And we know what Romney thinks of those freeloaders.

  10. “What happened? A political narcissistic sociopath leveraged fear and ignorance with a campaign marked by mendacity and malice rather than a mandate for resurgence and reform.”

But instead, the majority voted for our guy. Projection, much?

  11. There was a big article online yesterday that made the argument that the reason Mitt lost the race was because of lack of money during the critical timespan between winning the Primaries, and before the Convention when he officially became the nominee. The campaign was suffering a cashflow problem after doing all that carpet-bombing during the Primaries, so they say, so poor Mittens was forced to spend too much time going around to places like Texas, California, and New York to raise money, instead of spending time in places like Ohio, Virginia, Florida, and other swing states. His campaign finance chair even considered taking federal funds…. probably for about 30 minutes. LOL During that time the Obama folks were hammering away at Bain Capital, tax returns, etc., and poor little cheap Mitt, I guess, didn’t want to put a bunch of his own money into a SuperPac to answer the charges, form his own image, instead of letting Obama define him. It was also during this period of time that he was in Florida grovelling to his well-heeled supporters and got filmed making the infamous 47% speech.

The pundits are saying that because of his cashflow problem during this period, he never recovered from the damage. Guess you have to blame it on something other than incompetent campaign strategy and bad candidate.

I found that fascinating. Allegedly the day after Ryan received the VP nod, he was handed a 10 event schedule, all for fundraising missions, instead of the two of them sticking together in the battleground states.

Cheap and stupid. Disgraceful to treat staff like that, after many had been putting in 18 hour days, 7 days/week, for years. Go away, and stay under that rock. All of you.

  12. The Rs have been saying for years that the U.S. was in danger of “becoming another Mexico” if the U.S. did what the Ds were proposing. Cancelling credit as soon as the election was over was one of Peña Nieto’s tactics. So, I guess the “Rs” were sort of right in foreseeing the results, but they had the causation wrong.

  17. That’s how rich people get rich and stay rich: We got and we gon’ keep.

Jesus said unto him, If thou will be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19: 21-24; Mark 10:21-25; Luke 18:22-25)

  18. This needs to be remembered for the next election cycle. Very telling. And the rest of them shall be known by the company they keep.
