Yeah, Because We’re Making You Pay Taxes Now and, Dammit, You’re a White Man
Louie Gohmert, the crazziest man in Texas – where that title is neither won or taken lightly – has decided that this right here right now is worse than slavery. You know, stuff that’s happening. Worse than slavery. Much worse.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) stated on Tuesday that the legacy of slavery in the United States was a particularly ugly moment in the nation’s history, but that the situation now is even worse.
Speaking on a conference call with far-right pastor Rick Scarborough, Gohmert warned listeners that the nation could be coming “toward the end of [its] existence,” as evidenced by its leaders and citizens allegedly neglecting to remain true to biblical teachings.
Plus, we’re running low on cotton pickers.
To let you know how seriously crazzzy Gohmert is, this is the fourteenth craziest man in Texas.
Thanks to Kathleen and Stephen for the heads up.
Is he volunteering to be a slave?
1Honestly, I’d be embarrassed to go out the door in the morning if I were Gohmert.
2Marge, unfortunately, you wouldn’t be embarrassed to go out the door, because
3stupid people don’t know they are stupid.
And, I’d feel sorry for them if they weren’t so [insert expletive of choice], dangerous.
4I thought the Naked Caveman (#14) made a lot more sense in general than Louie (#1). The biggest difference between the two of them is that #14 seems to make more sense as a misunderstood naked guy than #1 does as a clothed guy whose comments we (sadly) can understand.
Here’s another link to the Naked Caveman story, with the value added info that he’s accused of … wait for it… stealing clothes:

Well, you know, we *do* have a lot of politicos getting away from those biblical teachings: be kind to one another, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, give unto Caesar, you cannot love God and money….so loopy louie has plenty of reason to be ascared!
6Well, that’s what occurs when a goofball can run unopposed for years.
7So sorry we’re getting away from those biblical teachings, like killing disobedient children and slavery and animal sacrifice and polygamy and protecting your guests from a mob of rapists by handing over your daughters and all that good stuff.
8@Rick: I should be embarassed to say this, but I’m not. I actually drove through the Franklin Mountains Park by accident this summer when I was in El Paso. I was visiting my Godmother and driving a rented car, looking for old places I used to know when I was a kid. Took the wrong road and wound up driving over the mountains. However, I must add that I was never “lost.” I knew when I saw the signs for Interstate 10, that I knew where I was. This is all to say that this story doesn’t suprise me in the least little bit. I just wonder how a naked man can survive the winter without heat. It does get cold (not Minnesota cold, but still) and snows more on the mountains than down below. That this guy has been left mostly unmolested doesn’t surprise me, either. The PD has more pressing problems to deal with.
9Not to be judgmental, but didn’t God pretty much set Texas on fire this summer? Was Texas more sinful than usual? (Other than the naked guy?)
10If Louie has some inside info on this End of The World stuff I sure wish that he would pass it along. I plan on taking all my money and stocking up at liquor store. Heck Fire, you know it’s going to be a serious party!
11If God really talks to people, why would he only pick the really stupid ones? The nicest, best people I know never claim to have an inside track with God.
12As an El Paso resident, I’d like to see more stories of our colorful best taking up news space. What we do get here is often skewed by the right wingers in town who know a good deal when they see one
http://www.elpasotimes.com/newupdated/ci_21740320/el-paso-democratic-party-exiles-state-reps-naomi?source=pkg
and local programming that seems to feature the likes of “right minded” souls like this perverse clown, who fills in news space when there aren’t elections and he’s not exorcising demons

So, you know. A guy who lives up somewhere around a canyon up in the foothills? Nah–he’s probably an okay sort, just a little fed up with the “civilization” we’ve offered him.
