  1. JJ, your daughter-in-law not only has promise, she has you to look up to.

BTW When asked who won, George Will opined that this is the best Presidential debate EVAH! and Obama won on points.

  2. Looks like the Prez just put the ‘bait into the DE-bait and Mr. Romney swallowed it before he realized he was hooked!

    2
  3. Without the podium cheat sheet ‘hanky’, Rmoney sure had a bit of trouble keeping on topic and keeping cool. He stumbled on his answers and could not be clear.

Best night EVAH! Had a house full of people from everywhere, and hands down Obama rocked the house! Glad I don’t have to feed them all tomorrow night!

  5. Check this out from Daily Kos. A great big LOL!

I think “binders” are the new meme.

  6. Binders and Big Bird and Honey Boo Boo, Oh My!

  7. fenway fran says:

Oh my, where to begin. Had locals, visitors from Ari-effin-zona, who bizarrely (is that a word?) had familial ties to my husband, and unanimous all over anti-Romneyness. We were screaming sometimes words mamma wouldn’t want to hear…waiting to hear the spin…all I can say is OY!

  8. I just don’t see how I could be prouder of our President. He came out swinging and told the truth. And my oh my, wasn’t he suave about his speech in the rose garden when he said, “Please continue, Governor,” and then the moderator verified what the President had said. Is Obama cool and calm or what? “Yes, Governor Romney, keep digging the hole you’re standing in, and then we’ll check the transcript of what I said.” And, by the way, it’s on video. You might want to figure out that video is everywhere. (Remember the 47%? — yep, video.) I’ve always believed in this President, and nothing has changed. He’s tried to keep his promises, and he’s done a damned good job under the circumstances — how many filibusters?

I couldn’t be prouder of my President. I hope his base comes back hard and strong. We’re retired and not in the Romney class, but I coughed up another donation. I don’t think we can afford not to — a Romney presidency will put us all back in the recession. Oh, wait, not everybody — just the middle class and the poor. Romney and the super-rich will be okay — can he say “Plutocracy.”

  9. I still have no TV, so had to miss the fun. And I’m also still remembering: I remember the sword fights in the old movies. Errol Flynn and the other heroes never gave away their dazzling skills on the first approach. They would act a little clumsy, even retreat a little, then retreat a little more. And when the bad guys got cocky and tried to make their winning strokes, the heroes always had a dramatic, deadly stroke. There’s one more debate to go. Maybe I’ll ask someone if I can watch the finale at their house. 😉

Enjoyed watching this debate with our now FIVE year old grandson and his adorable little sister who is learning to give things to other people. “Please continue, governor…” may be the new meme for impending doom.

Rubymay, I second everything you said!!

grammy97, probably the debate is online somewhere. Maybe you could google and find it.

  12. I am getting awfully tired of hearing Mr. Romney refer to Massachusetts as “my state.” I wouldn’t mind his doing so–even though he hasn’t lived here in five years–except that when he was seeking the Republication nomination he bad-mouthed us non-effing-stop to get cheap laughs and ingratiate himself with the rightwingers.
I was about to say something like “…make up your mind…” and then I remembered who I was talking about.

  13. Sam in Kyle says:

Think Mitt’s aides are still wiping dog poop off his shoes

I second and or third everything spoken here! I didn’t get home until 11 PM Eastern and was up until 2:30 watching the recording of the debate and all the follow-up on MSNBC.

Could Mitt be any more condescending, especially to women?

Body language said it all, even after the debate. Obama was engaged with the crowd, people were swarming him for autographs, including some of the questioners. Mitt had a short line of people waiting to have their picture taken with him, he had his back to everyone.

If this was a group of undecided voters (which explains the scarcity of black people, Rev. Al) then it looks like they now know whom they are deciding for!

    14
  15. grammy 97, c-span live streams the debates and I believe CNN does too.

    16
  16. I’ve only seen a quarter of it so far, but what I saw was impressive. Glad to hear it continued. Romney could not stay on point, not answer a straight question, and I cheered when the President started saying, “what you said just isn’t true…”

    17
  17. Big thanks to all of you who supplied the links so I can watch the fun on my computer! I’m grinning, big time.

  18. Mary Jim Graham says:

For the life of me, I can’t understand why SOMEBODY doesn’t reply to Mitt, when he brags about what he has accomplished in ‘HIS” state, that he had Democrats in that legislature who were doing their job. President Obama has had those #^&*
Repulicans in the national Congress who would vote “No” if President Obama suggested that they give themselves a raise.
