Maybe Clint Was On To Something

September 18, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Mitt Romney, that great CEO, has screwed up just about everything he’s touched in this campaign.  Personally, I think he’s trying to bankrupt the campaign to take a tax write-off.  But, that’s just my viewpoint.  Thelma thinks that he’s trying to settle some psychological conflict in his soul as the son of an important man who never quite lived up to Daddy’s vision.  And we know the results the last time that happened.  Thelma has 3 hours of psychology at Galveston County Community College that she almost passed so she’s the local expert on these things.

First there was the foreign policy trip, where the word “trip” became prophetic when he almost caused 7 or 8 international incidents and two world wars.  Then there was a political convention that looked more like a funeral service.  Good heavens, have you ever seen that many like-minded people in a room so damn grumpy at each other?  Or just grumpy.  Period.

And now we know how he talks about us when we’re not in the room.  He doesn’t like us much at all.

So I’m wondering if maybe the Presidential debates should be Mitt Romney and Clint Eastwood’s empty chair.  Face it, Mitt would still lose.

Or maybe open door Mitt should debate closed door Mitt.

Y’all, I have a confession to make.  I think what we saw behind those closed doors is what all Republicans really think of us.  And God bless Mitt Romney for saying it while being taped.

Be social and share!

  1. This man has an unlimited supply of money.
If the republicans pull what they did in 2000, this man could end up as POTUS of the US.

Of course that’s what republicans think of us. I’m sure the republican men that romney was talking about got a shock that somebody would think they were less then human, I’m sure most of the republican women are use to it.

I wonder if he really wants to win?

  3. They rigged the voting machines, they are disenfranchising voters, they dumped tons of money into the Romney campaign and associated “pacs” , think about it , if the get out the vote is successful for Obama and he wins, what have they got left? They are pulling out all the stops this time? Will their donors give to a bad investment again?
    Something to think about.

  4. As someone said last nite on MSNBC – Just WHY does he want to be President?

I feel like we need some “outside observers” at all red states this election, to remove fear of 2000 Redux. It would be cheap, they could use some of the people they claim are freeloaders, you know, regular Americans.

  5. They’re great at cutting and pasting. Go look at what’s happened in Wisconsin. Even though the Wisconsin Constitution states clearly that citizens of the state may assemble peaceably to protest wrongs, there is now a law stating that NOBODY may hold up a sign about anything in the Capitol without permission. Lots of arrests. Well, at least 4 or 5. And two ladies got arrested for holding up T shirts with messages on them.

  6. Every time he opens his “inelegant” mouth….. more and more people decide to vote for Obama, or to not vote at all.

And, we haven’t even had the first debate.

I used to be a real political junkie. I got over that, when it became all about money, instead of public service.

But, I still have to say….. this has been one of the damdest (sorry Momma) election seasons I’ve ever seen.

Maybe Thelma, and Dr. Phil can figure it out. I sure can’t.

  7. Who actually just comes right out and says: ” I just want to be President to all the rich people in the United States…. I can’t worry about anybody else”.

Does he really know what’s in the job description??

    I don’t think so.

He is a really weird man.

  8. You got that right, Miss Juanita. It’s one thing when they’re saying’ this stuff behind your back, but when they come right out and say it in fro t of God and everybody, you know it’s what they really think. I’m kinda glad he did, too. At least the truth is out there. Maybe some folks will wake up and smell the coffee instead of the tea.

That last bit nails it. “I think what we saw behind those closed doors is what all Republicans really think of us. And God bless Mitt Romney for saying it while being taped.”

See, for a long time we’ve been putting up with “interviews” where the person being interviewed gets to pretend he’s dealing with the Congressional Record which allows people to go back into the record and “revise and extend” their remarks. In the same way, the guy being interviewed demands as a precondition of the interview that he be allowed to review all the quotations and revise them if he thinks they are poorly worded or otherwise true. So for cow knows how long, we’ve been getting doctored quotes. This tape thingy is the real deal — it’s what they say when they think no one is listening.

The Republican Party had 4 years and this is the best they could come up with, too.

  10. The irony is that there are many, many Republicans in that 47%. Romney is pig-ignorant. (I apologize to the pigs in advance.)

    10
  11. DaMrs summed Mitt’s world view in a single apt phrase last night: “Wealthier than thou.”

Doesn’t that just say it all? I’m glad I married her.

  12. Amen to all of the comments!

Wonder how he likes the taste of that Gucci loafer?

    13
  14. From Borowitz Blog – Romney has a new campaign strategy – he’s having his jaws wired together.

    14
  15. I’d like to know where Mitt (or anybody) got that 47% number. On what is it based?

And I’d like to smack the people who fail to specify that he was supposed to be talking about INCOME taxes. On my pathetic income, I don’t pay that particular tax. But here in Georgia, there’s a tax on food. Yes: FOOD TAX.

    15
  16. Kay Carrasco says:

Grammy97, the NPR web page has a couple of articles today, with explanations and graphics, showing the 47% number. About half of those have incomes too low to tax; another large chunk are elderly, on Social Security or SSI, or otherwise exempted or near-exempted by special tax breaks. Many are college students, going to school on grants or loans which are exempted as income. Then there are the military, in the lower ranks paid so little as to fall into the low-income group. And so on. Now mind you, there are also households that almost qualify as real people to Mitt the Twit (making that-there “middle class income” of $200K), who don’t pay income tax because they can take advantage of enough tax breaks and loopholes to avoid it.

Mittster? Rot in… umm… uhhh….. Heck. (Whew. That was close, momma.)

Is his campaign fund in the Caymans, too?

  18. I think Kate nailed it in comment 2. I don’t think Romney wants to win and I don’t think the GOP wants to win. Look at the clowns they trotted out in the primaries! I think things are so bad they’d rather take four more years making pot shots at Obama instead of taking on the responsibility of fixing things.
