I’m Too Sexy For My Clothes
I have a problem with this whole Values Voters thing. To me, it sounds like coupons you take into voting booth. Ahhhh, ten cents off a vote for Paul Ryan. What a damn deal! BOGO with the purchase of Mitt Romney!
I have value without voting like a damn fool.
They would, of course, disagree. They also have a problem with me flaunting my nakkid ankles in public. Apparently, it brings all the boys to the yard. Even in church.
From the latest Value Voters Summit where Paul Ryan spoke.
– From the “Modesty: It’s nothing to be ashamed of” pamphlet:“Since men are particularly visual, immodesty in church can trigger lustful thoughts.”
“My men’s bible study group talks frequently about controlling our lust, thoughts, and eyes. Yes the problem and responsibility are ours, but is it really reasonable for the women of the church to make it THIS difficult for us?”
Honey, I do not know what church you are going to but if it says Biker Babes Prayer Meeting and Knife Fight out front, you might try the Methodist church down the street.
Bring on the burqas, babe! Lester over there can’t pray properly with your lips showing and painted like a floozy hussy.
Y’all, Paul Ryan and his crew are just weird. And I mean that in the un-nicest way possible.
Thanks to Miemaw for the heads up.
The more they talk about “values” the more everything is about profit and keeping non-male, non-white, non-straight, non-evangelicals from having rights.
1Are they trying to lure us old reprobates back into church with promises of steamy dressed women? Seems like they think about sex a lot doesn’t it?
2Immature idiots who can’t control themselves are the ones with the problem. If they can’t talk to me without staring at the old DD’s, they can seek therapy because I ain’t wearing no freakin’ burka in Texas in the Summer during Menopause. Any man who tries to make me, better have some dang good health insurance.
3When I was a good little Catholic Girl going to church was a dress up thing especially at Easter time. These days it’s a little more casual. But most of the women I know who continue to go to services at various denominations “dress up.” Making a connection with people of similar views is also a part of going to church, lot of networking there.
4Perhaps these men would be happy if they put the wimmins in the back behind a screen and then they may be able to concentrate on whatever crazy they want unencumbered with lustful thoughts (notice I left out hateful.)
I do not want to even imagine what they might think of people who like “shiny”. LOL.
I’m trying my darndest to figure out just what kind of “Values” these people have…..
“The American Taliban” just keeps on….. keeping on… Really weird folk. And the saving grace is….. The Republican Party is stuck with them….. like Elmer’s glue. Ha!
5I ain’t wearing no freakin’ burka in Texas in the Summer during Menopause.
6LOL!!
Wearing anything is a challenge during the Texas summer.
All boys should be raised with a healthy respect for menopausal women. That “time of life” sharpens our senses and intellect, and literally raises our temperature! It’s impossible to suffer fools when you are suffering from hot flashes!
ROTFL, Loraine!!
The only difference between Sharia law (as described by RW loons, not the real thing) and Value Value Voters law is the name of the deity to whom the (required) prayers are addressed.
American Taliban, indeed. Let ’em try. Just try. C’mon, I dare ya……
7Why are these guys so focused on sex?
Maybe they should not be elected if they are that distracted with how women dress.
8Is Paul Ryan some sort of Amish Catholic?
9As usual, it’s all about themselves. Since they believe they shouldn’t have lustful thoughts, and they do, they have to find someone to blame so they aren’t totally guilty.
If they’d get their minds off themselves and their lustful thoughts, and quit talking about their lustful thoughts (just another way of thinking lustful thoughts) and their excuses for them (“Men are so visual…they just can’t help it”) they’d maybe grow up and be less like an adolescent with his first hormone surge…fascinated by their own sexual response.
But clearly they think it’s all about them–everything should be arranged for their maximum benefit. Babies think the same, but we expect them to grow up.
10So….as usual..it’s the OLD WHIE MEN causing all the problems. Let’s just get rid of THEM! (They’re just jealous no one is having “listing thoughts” about THEIR Sunday School class……..
11No, no, no…I’m seein’ this as part of the “Legitimate Rape” thing. With this line of thought, the wimmen being TEMPTRESSES, and all, the next time the youth minister or the senior paster gets caught messin’ with one of them who isn’t his lawfully wedded wife, he can claim she was asking for it and it ain’t legitimately adultery.
12Dontcha know, ladies, it’s all our fault. Ha. With all due respect to menopausal ladies (once at church a woman at That Time of Life, told us “Y’all just have to dress warmer. I’m going without as much as I can and still appear in public.” My aunt took a blanket along and we all froze.) lots of women DO have too much showing in the bare boobs department. My Muslim friend and I agree on that and we aren’t prudes either. Men should be respectful of women and women should be considerate of men’s natures.
13I am about to finish reading “The Handmaid’s Tale.” How very timely.
14I’d say the reason these old coots are thinking about all this lusting crap so much is because … they ain’t getting any and probably haven’t gotten any in a doggone long time … and I’d say … good on’ya! LOL
Love that “Amish Catholic” line … LOL Yes, by golly, it did make me laugh out loud!
15That’s like saying that when a toddler acts out, the mom has to go into time out. That ain’t right. Let’em grow the heck up.
Remember Golda Meir? When she was prime minister of Israel she was asked to place a curfew on women to end a series of rapes.
“But it is the men who are attacking the women,” she replied. “If there is to be a curfew, let the men stay at home.”
16“- From the “Modesty: I’t’s nothing to be ashamed of” pamphlet:“Since men are particularly visual, immodesty in church can trigger lustful thoughts.” ”
And this differs from the justification of female oppression in sharia how?
17What can I say? Paul Ryan and his Value Voters are a solid collection of sexually oriented nuts . . . . no pun intended. And they probably ought to be having these discussions at a sports bar and not in a men’s Bible class. Sounds like something they could make limericks about to write above the urinals in the men’s room. But this is what the Republicans want for a vice president. Unfortunately, as a friend once said to me, there is no law against stupid.
18Well, bless their l’il ol’ hearts! Did you know that the heaviest use of Internet porn occurs in “RED” states? Did you also know that the state with the highest use of Internet porn is UTAH? I extrapolate from those facts that Republihorndogs sure are lustful l’il devils!
19@ Judith #7 above
It is the same god, the God of Abraham. Jesus is the third most important prophet in Islam.
20Ellen # 17. Just as unfortunately, there is no cure for stupid.
21I see what you mean, but at the affluent, white suburban North Texas mega-church that we attended for many years, we had a casual dress code, and the younger ladies did tend to push the boundaries of what was acceptable. Mini-skirts, daisy dukes, plunging necklines, CFM pumps, you name it and their DADDIES let them walk out the door dressed that way. Their rich mamas were equally tanned, coiffed, bleached and bejeweled. (My husband, our two girls and I wore jeans, tennis shoes and nice tops mostly) Many a youth minister had to plead with the girls to tone it down, because, well, boys ARE visual… and this is CHURCH, ladies. Geez!
22So according to them, men are the weaker sex: weak-minded & weak-willed.
23glf,
24What’s your point?
IMHO, we women should wear scarves wrapped around our heads as our own quiet statement of protest.
25I’m actually in the market for a “swimming” chador. Not kidding, either.
26So its all women’s fault for awakening lust in men that would otherwise remain dormant, and we men are the victims. I could be OK with that, but someone near and dear to me is never going to buy it.
27I suggest people (it’s not just or all men who are visual), who can’t function normally in a social setting, wear blinders. Works for horses. Maybe one could manufacture ball caps with fold down flaps. Seems a lot simpler than trying to change everyone else.
28Well I guess that explains why Congress is such a mess. Repub congresscritters are having a hard time keeping their minds, not to mention their hands, off all those young pages because the young ladies continue to leave their burkas at home. Don’t know how to explain their problem with the male pages though.
29Barbara N,
Seems there is these 2 republican congresscritters sittin in the Congessional Library, one looks up from his copy of the Congressional Record and sez to the other republican congress critter, What page are you on senator?,” and the other republican congress critterer sez, Why, it appears to be young Johnson from Wyoming.”
30What exactly is immodesty in church? Wearing a burqa?
31But, but, but… “If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it: out and throw it away from you…” speaks to changing yourself, not what you find “offensive” in others. Sick pricks.
32Here’s a secret I learned from my mother: you don’t have to look.
I was going to brag a bit about a situation in which I didn’t look despite great temptation to do so hooting and hollering, but even without names it might get back to a relative and hurt someone’s feelings. The point is…if I can not look at…what it was, in that situation…so could anyone.
Men don’t have to look if looking bothers them. Or they can look and enjoy their lustful thoughts if they can control their behavior. Which many of them can and do, and thank you very much, gentlemen, for that. Lustful thoughts don’t hurt anybody if there’s an adult at the controls.
33There’s a tech fix for that now..

“He had known reformers and Bible-thumpers all of his life, and not one of them, in his opinion, ever proved the exception when it came to obsession about sexuality: To a man, they feared their own desires and knew after waking from certain kinds of dreams what they would be capable of doing if the right situation presented itself. Every one of them was filled not with longing but with rage, and their rage always expressed itself in the same fashion:They wanted control of other people, and if they could not have control over them, they wanted them destroyed.”–James Lee Burke
35Unkind, unattractive, angry in their desires, because the women they want do not want them, they degrade all women in their minds and claim the devil (she-devils) made them do it–what pissants!! Nasty little boys, not men at all!!!
Now I’m afraid to go to church what with all the men lusting and such. That’s just creepy.
