How Dare Tammy Duckworth Appear in Public Without Legs!
You know who I detest? Joe Walsh, that’s who.
Even before he criticized Tammy Duckworth for going out in public without legs, I detested that hypocritical, lying, mean, vicious, deadbeat dad, hot tempered, arrogant sumbitch.
Now I double dog detest him. Way back in March, he did an interview with Politico.
“I have so much respect for what she did in the fact that she sacrificed her body for this country,” said Walsh, simultaneously lowering his voice as he leaned forward before pausing for dramatic effect. “Ehhh. Now let’s move on.”
“What else has she done? Female, wounded veteran … ehhh,” he continued.
Move on? Did that jerk say move on? About a veteran without legs? They don’t even allow that kind of talk in hell, Joe.
Then, not realizing what a crass twit he sounded like, he decided this was the best way to attack her. This analysis is from a Marine veteran who lives here in Texas.
So now we have a Republican Congressman from Illinois, a fellow by the name of Joe Walsh (a deadbeat dad, too, just to put icing on this lily-white cupcake of a man), who is not a combat vet, or a vet of any kind…who apparently thought himself too good, too valuable, to risk his pretty pink backside in a uniform, right out there in public dissing the service of a 20+ year veteran combat vet, his opponent who’s a double amputee from a combat injury (she was a helicopter pilot whose chopper was hit by an RPG), saying she’s not a “true hero” because–get this–she talks about how she lost her legs and that gives her some understanding of how important health care is for people.
Now, it’s not my job to decide the eventual eternity for folks, so I don’t know where Joe’s going after he dies, but I would be willing to bet my best pair of pink boots that he’s getting there in a hand-basket.
Thanks to Ms. Moon for the heads up.
Dear Joe,
Thanks so much for all the donations.
Love & Kisses,
Tammy

PS: I may have left a couple of limbs in Iraq, but I can still kick your lying, deadbeat, ass (sorry, momma, arse just wouldn’t work here).
1Do you think he would say the same thing to John McCain?
2Just to put the cherry on top of this man’s despicableness, he says that when he and his fellow tea party congressvarmints repeal the ACA, he is not in favor of keeping the provision that allows parents to keep children on their health insurance policies until they are 26. He feels that the provision should be “scrapped” even though his own 24 year old son has health insurance through his mother’s policy.
3Give him a GI bath.
4I seriously considered cranking up the flivver in this hundred degree heat and driving the 6 hours back to Illinois just to step into the street at the Fourth of July parade and SLAP that smug look off his face. It’s hard to look smug when your lower jaw is now your right earring. I had the honor of voting for Tammy when she first ran for Congress. She deserves better than this soulless stunted slime for an opponent. And we deserve better in Congress.
Maybe 80% of the country wouldn’t share AG Holder’s contempt of Congress if the Congressmen weren’t so contemptible.
5I have so little imagination that I didn’t think I could be gob-smacked anymore by anything a Rethug said or did. However, Joe (You Lie!) Walsh has done it to me again. I hope Tammy kicks his butt all the way to Mexico.
6@Barb
7That was Joe Wilson that yelled You Lie! Walsh is the guy that owes a small fortune in child support and mismanaged campaign funds. It’s easy to get all of these guys mixed up – there are so many of them and they are all rotten to the core.
Walsh is the poster boy for garbage in, garbage out.
8Until these clown’s start losing elections nothing is going to happen he probably get a 2nd term.
9Warner is dead on.
10@deb, disgusting Joe said that John McCain had to be drug, kicking and screaming before he would talk about his service. Yes, that John McCain, who wrote a book about his experience as a POW and has built his career on that fact.
Joe Walsh is one my most disliked people ever, and that includes some really, really bad people. Some months ago Walsh threw a hissy fit at a town hall meeting, tell the people there that the banks were not to blame at all for the recession of 2008. Joe is not only dispicable, he is unbelievably stupid. Please God, let him lose.
11I’m afraid I have to pass on making any substantive comment on this one, JJ. I’ll blow your bad-language filter to hell, back again, and around for another full trip. So sorry.
12I detested that hypocritical, lying, mean, vicious, deadbeat dad, hot tempered, arrogant sumbitch. ditto.
13Although a dead armadillo would be a more desirable congresscritter than Joe Walsh, Tammy Duckworth is an outstanding candidate who lives public service. Let’s send her a few dollars.
14I could just imagine how this man would have a pity party if he were injured like say Gabby Gifford.
Every Vet in this country should rail against this man. he needs a recall.
15Tell your momma to close her eyes and pardon my language, but I have to write it. That slime-sucking,non child support paying idiot is a despicable freekin’ butthole. What the hell is wrong with the jackasses that voted him into office? I sure hope there is karma-and that bastard is reborn as a bug that gets splattered on a semi rigs windshield.
16Everybody relax! Joe is going bye-bye very shortly. In Illinois redistricting he lost a good deal of his more rabid Tea Party support to another district, and Tammy is busting his chops on a regular basis. Karma is a biatch!
17I hadn’t spotted that earlier interview. [string of bad words] [longer string of bad words, plus some stompin’ and arm wavin’ and reminders to self to go do some footwork drills.
Gramiam, it’s not just a matter of whether he wins or loses an election (important as that is). It’s a matter of honor. She’s a disabled vet. I’m a vet. This guy has no respect for vets. He will continue to blather on, probably from a Faux News station, making the bobble-head-doll-tea-partiers feel even more entitled, until he has an attitude adjustment. He needs to be introduced to the concept of respect for his betters, and come to the realization that vets, which includes women vets, are his betters because he’s an itty-bitty-teeny-weanie with balls the size of dried peas. [Dang. Those bad words just will come out.]
18I thought you were talking about the guy from The Eagles, but then again, I’m a Canuck so what do I know?
19Great advice upthread! I’ve donated to Tammy before… but just felt this compelling need to donate again. I hope this asshat’s words fill Tammy’s campaign war chest to overflow!
20Let me tell you about my favorite vet. He was a Marine Major, who lost both legs above the knee, in VietNam in 1967. For his heroism, we was awarded the Navy Cross. When he got out of the Corps, he went back to UT to earn his Masters and then his Phd. He taught at a college for 25 years and beloved by his students. You couldn’t go out to eat but what one of former students would come to the table to talk with him. He passed away this morning of heart failure. He was a wonderful man; he was my brother.
I hate Joe Walsh; he isn’t good enough to have carried my brother’s briefcase.
21Thank you for sending me to Act Blue to do my 4th of July patriotic duty of sending a donation to Tammy Duckworth’s campaign.
22Remember just a few years ago when the Repubs automatically supported the military and called the Dems soft on defense? I think the Repubs must have noticed that most military people aren’t super rich.
23Ya know, this guy wouldn’t be fazed by a Gabby Gifford style injury, ya’ll – he doesn’t have enough brain to be damaged. If you didn’t read the link Juanita posted, do, it’s kinda fun except that it is far too true.
I’m going to go visit my favorite vet when he gets back to town and give him a hug. He votes Rethug cuz’ he’s a Baptist and thinks he’s gonna bring the kingdom, but we have some famous discussions with no name-calling and I never stop hoping! He was a ‘Nam Marine too!
And I sure miss Chet Edwards! I wish fat Flores would go crawl back under his rock and leave the rest of us alone 🙁
24My deepest sympathies June. Your brother sounds like someone I wish I had known. I’m sure my Marine, now a high school history teacher, would too. Semper Fi.
As for Joe Walsh… I am with you all the way EMoon. Lower-than-pond-scum-piece-of-toxic-waste is about the only thing I can say publicly about him. He wouldn’t know honor and integrity if it rose up and bit him square on the nose (and other parts that should be bitten).
25Ms. Moon has referred to the terrible moment at the GOP candidates’ debate in Concord NH–held on the day Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was abolished–that members of the audience booed a combat soldier on active duty in Afghanistan when he acknowledged he was gay.
26It was an early debate and all eight candidates were in the race and on the stage. Not one of them came to the soldier’s defense or even pointed out that he was putting his own life in danger defending their right to boo him.
Not one.
If I were working for any Democrat running for any office this year I would freeze that wretched 30 seconds and I would play it over and over and over in TV ads. The voice over would say “….(R Candidate Name) says he’ll fight for you if elected (position)… He can’t even stand up to a a few bigoted catcalling nasty people booing an American soldier wearing his country’s uniform in active combat.”
Over and over and over.
June, you have my sympathy on the loss of your beloved brother. He sounds like a fantastic person who touched many lives.
Regards,
27LinS
Elizabeth Moon, writer, photographer, naturalist, and United States Marine has a very good take on this in specific and the way Republicans act towards soldiers:
http://e-moon60.livejournal.com/444261.html
See also http://www.themudflats.org/2012/07/04/the-soldier-the-sailor-the-senator/ in which Jim Wright provides his assessment of how our military personnel should be treated:
28“The most important thing America can do for her men and women in uniform is to neither place them on a pedestal nor take them for granted. We need your respect, not your worship or your indifference. Far too many Americans slap a $5 magnet on the back of their giant guzzling SUVs and feel they’ve actually done something to support the troops.”
Peace to you and yours, June.
Walsh is not alone here. He’s not some kind of GOP anomaly. The Rs talk one game about service people then play an entirely different one. Two words – John. Kerry. Two more words – Max. Cleland. Two more words – Veterans. Benefits.
29I would love to have that Congressvarmint in my vicinity because I assure you I would maneuver around good enough to get him in position to bend over and let me introduce him to the joys of sodomy with my walking cane.
30Please excuse me JuanitaJean and your dear Mamma, but you know that Walsh is about as useful as our SDEC or a bucket of warm piss.
CEWDEM, dammit! Did you see “piss” as an approved word? No, you did not.
And quit bad-mouthing the SDEC until I have a chance to make them worse.
31So I guess Joe doesn’t talk about being a deadbeat dad, because doing so would be unpatriotic and unheroic. What a delusional cretin. I can’t wait until Tammy crushes this monstrosity.
32Let me add (to get around your naughty words filter) that Joe Walsh is a mendacious xanthic pusillanimous neoplexic sanctimonious solipsist. Whew, I’m glad I was able to get that off my chest.
33Is it OK if I refer to him as Bat Guano?
34The only reason Gomer Gohmert didn’t say this is he doesn’t have Duckworth for an opponent. He DOES,however, have a (female)Iraq veteran,Dr. Shirley McKellar(D)running against him this November. I pity her if she dares to mention her military service any time between now and election day. Gohmert will twist it to something like,”She was trying to see to it that more Terror Babies were born in the US,otherwise she would never have joined the military.”
35Some veterans took offense at Joe’s comments and have been busy filling up his facebook page with fun comments http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/07/03/510948/joe-walsh-veterans-facebook/
36Overall, just gotta say, I agree, I agree, I agree with you Juanita Jean! This guy is total scum-of-the-earth and wouldn’t know what integrity, honor or service to his country was if it bit him on the patootie!
37from my comfortably liberal gun closet in Texas ….
Lyndon Johnson and the Duke of Duval taught a 100 generations of Texans how voting boxes work, especially the ones in cemeteries. By Allah I’m voting against that guy in November, either absentee if I can or in person of I must. What a @#$%*&^*)
38Why are we surprised by Joe Walsh, Illinois Republithug, insulting veteran Tammy Duckworth? He’s another hawkish jingoist like the worthies who dissed Max Cleland, to say nothing of John Kerry. And, for the record, here’s a partial list of Rs who avoided service: Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Dick Armey, Phil Gramm, Trent Lott, Tom Delay, Dennis Hastert, Jon Kyl, Roy Blunt and yes, Mittens Romney. But please note they have no problem sending poor people’s children off to wars for oil.
I couldn’t find any evidence that Joe Walsh ever served. Does anyone know? And why, if he’s a deadbeat dad, is he not in jail or at least having his wages garnisheed???
39Hey VeeGee in VT, don’t forget Dubya went AWOL from his Natl Guard unit too, that’s why no one can find his service record, Barbara made George I hide it in CIA oblivion.
And then just listen to Fortunate Son by CCR – they say it with poetry, even. LARGE sigh.
