Brother Santorum and The Pages Missing From His Bible
Rick Santorum called President Obama’s religion, “Some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology.” President Obama is a Christian.
Hummmm… Brother Santorum, perhaps there’s some passages missing from your Bible. Let me see if I can help you with a few.
The first I’d like to point out comes from Proverbs and it was a commandment to leaders. Check Proverbs 31:8 and 9.
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
How about Deuteronomy 15:11, Rick?
For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
I can also give you words from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, but let’s just pick one for now. Luke 3:11
And [John the Baptist] would answer and say to them, “Let the man with two tunics share with him who has none, and let him who has food do likewise.”
And there’s also Romans 21:12, speaking about judging others.
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
But, I think the most important one you need to read, Brother Santorum is Proverbs 9:11 –
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
Brother Santorum, say what you will about President Obama’s politics and you will only have the people of America to answer to. But when you start messing with his religious beliefs, you have done hacked-off the wrong God.
