The Presidential Pout

May 22, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Donald Trump abruptly cancelled an infrastructure meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer this morning, whining that Nancy was mean to him by saying he was involved in a cover-up.

Now get this Trump logic:

“Instead of walking in happily to a meeting, I walk in to look at people who said I was doing a coverup,” Trump said, adding that he can’t work on infrastructure “under these circumstances.”

Now I’m trying to remember all the names Trump has called Nancy and Chuck.  Let’s see -“High Tax, High-Crime Nancy Pelosi” and “MS-13 Lover Nancy Pelosi” and “Head Clown Chuck Schumer” come to mind right away.  They can work under those circumstances because they know that Trump is lying.

Trump must be pretty sure that Pelosi isn’t.

Beside that, who the hell is he hurting?

Pelosi said Democrats had been prepared to deliver a signature accomplishment to Trump at a time when the nation’s roads, bridges, airports and other infrastructure are ailing.

“He just took a pass, and it just makes me wonder why he did,” Pelosi said.

We can’t have nice things because you hurt his tiny little snowflake feelings, Nancy.

And there’s this.  The presidential pout.

  1. Trump said of the meeting:

“You can’t investigate and legislate simultaneously – it just doesn’t work that way.”

Can you cooperate and legislate simultaneously? Does that work?

“You can’t investigate and legislate simultaneously – it just doesn’t work that way.” Ummm, bullshit – New York state lawmakers can and do.

ALBANY — A presidential pardon won’t be enough to clear someone associated with the commander-in-chief of similar state charges under legislation approved by New York state lawmakers Tuesday.

The bill, which now moves to Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, revises the exceptions to the state’s double jeopardy law in an effort to ensure the state’s ongoing investigations into the Republican president and his associates can’t be derailed by a White House pardon.

Attorney General Letitia James had pushed for the law, which she said will eliminate a “gaping loophole” that could have allowed someone pardoned by Trump to argue similar state charges should be dismissed.

“This loophole, which effectively allows the president to pardon state crimes, must be closed,” James, a Democrat, told reporters after the bill passed the Assembly Tuesday. She said presidential pardons shouldn’t “be used as a get-out-of-jail-free card.

  4. “You can’t investigate and legislate simultaneously – it just doesn’t work that way.”

Reminds me of the old joke about Betty Ford’s birth control: just before going to bed, she’d give Jerry a stick of gum. Apparently it would work for Melania too.

  5. I recall the GOP conducting multiple investigations (Benghazi, emails), while redistricting, sabotaging healthcare, and destroying the environment, for instance.

    Time to impeach him.

  6. Is he admitting that Hilary Clinton is a better politician then he is???
Because she worked for the US and dealt with the Benghazi investigation, and ran for POTUS.
    What a woman!

What a jerk we have for president.

  11. “You can’t investigate and legislate simultaneously” – between the creation of the Senate Watergate committee and Nixon’s resignation, I count approximately 360 new public laws enacted.

‪The Senate & House began hearings on Whitewater in July 1994, & then formed the Whitewater Committee which issued an 800-page on June 18, 1996. Yet, Clinton struck numerous deals with GOP Congress in that period and he left the WH with a budget surplus.

It turns out you *can* investigate and legislate simultaneously.

After Trump walked out, Pelosi talked to Dems. Kellyanne Conway asked her if she had a response forthe president.
Pelosi told Conway: I’m responding to the president, not staff.

As everyone was leaving, Conway told Pelosi: “that’s really pro-woman of you”
    -per source familiar

Pro-woman. From someone who makes Laura Ingraham seem motherly. Kelly Anne gets royally snubbed so badly she couldn’t think of anything better to say? George and Martha – oops, they were from my favorite movie – I mean George and Kelly Anne are going to have little talk over some drinks over this one while they talk about their blond-eyed gold-haired son.

He had signs printed and set up in Rose garden before nancy said anything this morning.
He just needed to manufactor an excuse for his failure on infrastructure.
from hat i have read of this blithering idiot his negoitating style is to get others to become invested then use the risk of myth of sunken costs to get his victims to agree to further give aways.
he doesn’t accept that other will walk away.
