Lucian Winterish, the White House correspondent for the ultra-right Gateway Pundit, took to Twitter and had himself a cute little hissy fit about those damn brown people.
Look again. Those people are native Americans. Remind me again who it was who broke into this country and took their resources and then did crap like declaring them illegal? I forgot who did that, Lucien. Can you help me remember who that was, Lucien? Lucien? Help me, dude.

Truth is on my last DC trip, when told how many hoops a tour has to jump through today to tour the WH, I may have flipped off in the general direction of the Oval office. My bad.

But considering that the Pine Ridge Reservation, which has one of the lowest per capita income rates in the country, is also in South Dakota;
and that Mt.Rushmore is in the Black Hills, sacred ground to some tribes, until gold was discovered there and they were driven out;

If the comment was stated *by* those depicted in the photo, it would certainly be appropriate (outside of the “libs” comment).
Just imagine if the natives could’ve enforced those sentiments upon the invading hordes back in the day…

6Since Lucian Winterish doesn’t seem to think it’s a problem to take away a continent of land from America’s original inhabitants, and replace it with worthless treaties, why not tell Native Americans their 1st Amendment rights can get tossed in with the rest of stuff they were promised?
7I grew up in Very Racist and Redneck SouDakota. (There are wonderful folks there too, just not enough.) Sights like that photo are not extremely rare and the sentiment is not based only on the distant past. American Indians in SD are mainly Lakota and Dakota and occupy 7 reservations. Discrimination is common and ugly and institutional. Indians make up a much larger percentage of the state’s prison population than overal numbers. The state’s government is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Koch Bros and works hard to disenfranchise POC voters, principally Indians.

9Sacred places ;ile sanctuary cities and churches that harbor immigrants and schools that get raided got deportees? That kind of sacred?
The BlackHills are not Sacred to wasicus. They are merely natural resources for whitey to harvest with no concern for the future.

11One last thing, West Virginia’s Dem guv is switching parties. Drumpf is going to make a big deal out of this conservative billionaire knowing which side butters his bread.
