When The Last Teardrop Falls

March 08, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The Supreme Court has ended the Trump lawsuit appeal chances.

The Supreme Court on Monday denied a bid by former President Trump to nullify his electoral loss in Wisconsin, rejecting the former president’s final pending appeal over the results of the 2020 election.

Wisconsin expanded absentee voting due to the pandemic. Trump took it to court and even his own Supreme Court refused to hear it.

But, that does’t mean that States aren’t going to try to help Trump.  Georgia, for example, is going to try to destroy no excuse absentee voting.

In 2005, Georgia Republicans passed a bill expanding voting rights to include no-excuse absentee voting. Republicans heavily supported it until Democrats started using it. Now, Republicans don’t want anyone to use it.

There’s also some bills being introduced in Texas cutting back on voting rights, but just those that Democrats use.

And speaking of Texas – here’s one that won’t wait ’till Friday.

Trump Tightens the Noose on the GOP

March 08, 2021 By: El Jefe Category: 2024 Election, Trump, Trumpists

Last week, Trump sent a cease and desist letter to the RNC, NRCC, and the NRSC, ordering these organizations to stop using his name in their fundraising campaigns.  His takeover, and ultimate destruction of the GOP is now unavoidable.  The Republican party that we came to know and disagree with no longer exists; in 2016, the party handed trump the keys to the kingdom and he’s now burned the whole thing down.  He’s coopted the entire organization with all of its members, and now has cut off the money they were using to perpetuate themselves.

Think about it – CPAC this year was nothing short of a Trump coronation.  Every single speaker worshiped him, and declared him the only brand the GOP had.  Hell, they even had a golden idol of Trump and everyone wanted to be photographed standing next to it.  No Republican will oppose him on any policy or even publicly disagree with him.  Trump has so amassed support for himself with a radical (and violent) base that he’s cowed the entire Republican delegation at the local, state, and federal level.  After handing the party over to Trump, he’s now cut off the money so he can take it all for himself.

After coopting the party, he’s now using the same tactics he’s always used in life – lawsuits.  Trump’s primary tool, besides prolific lying, is to use lawsuits as a bludgeon to force capitulation to his demands. That didn’t work as president, but it most certainly works in private life, and now he’s turned it on those who have handed him their party and their fundraising apparatus.  Trump’s plan is now crystal clear – when he announced at CPAC last week that he’s not starting a third party, what he meant was there was no need to, because he was taking over the GOP.  Now party leaders have a decision; start a new party to siphon people away from Trump, or just lay low, hoping that one of the criminal cases against Trump sticks enough to take him out of the limelight.

This will be interesting for those of us on the outside of this soap opera to watch.  I can only hope it continues to weaken the GOP and its really bad ideas.

We Need More Headlines Like This

Here ya go —

Seriously, they were protesting across the country, but the one in Raleigh, North Carolina, had a guy who hauled off and shot himself in the leg.

He’s going to be charged with possession of a firearm at a protest. Apparently the fine is $10 and a couple of hours pulling weeds at the DA’s favorite golf course.

“[Police officers] acted like everything was fine and normal,” explained volunteer coordinator Kelsea McLain. “We are genuinely confused and concerned why the protest was allowed to continue uninterrupted. We are now at the point where we are very concerned RPD will do nothing to de-escalate and bring safety to the clinic until a patient or a volunteer or staff member is shot.”

I guess nobody asked him if he’s pro-life, why’s he carrying a gun?

Thanks to Carl for the heads up.

Cruz Not Having A Good Day

March 06, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

First, Fled Cruz got stampeded during the Covid bill negotiations.  He kept insisting that the bill would allow undocumented immigrants to get funds. He was repeatedly told by everyone that it would not.

And then it got worse

But that wasn’t all that there was to his day.

The Princeton Debate Club bitch slapped him.

Princeton University’s American Whig-Cliosophic Society voted to rescind the James Madison Award for Distinguished Public Service awarded to Cruz, a member of the Class of 1992.

It was the first time that the society voted to take back the award, according to the Daily Princetonian, which first reported the decision.

Geeezzz … being kicked out the Princeton Debate Society – that right there’s gonna leave a mark.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

UPDATED: Oh, this is good…

UPDATE: There have been questions who the reporter was.  It wasn’t an actual reporter, but one of the propagandists for Trump on OAN (One America News) which is not really news.  Her name is Chanel Rion (actually Chanel Nmi-Dayn Ryan. She changed her name when applying for credentials in the Trump WH).  Here’s the whole thing with the Rion video:

Oh, Dude, Madam Karma Just Whacked You Upside the Head

So, they finally finished reading Ron Johnson’s demand of reading of Covid relief bill.

Then Republicans got ready for 20 hours of debate for each side. They had their speeches all planned out and everything. But, then

“They finished in the middle of the night and in the end, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, a Democrat from the state of Maryland, rose to ask for some consent to restart this debate beginning at 9 a.m. today in the U.S. Senate,” she said.

Van Hollen asked for 3 hours of debate instead of twenty hours.

And … Johnson was not there to object.

So … it was adopted and now Republicans have 3 hours of debate time instead of 20.

Way to stompin’ go, Ron Johnson! You have just screwed yourself, sir. How proud you must be.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
