Me and CNN

August 05, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Look, CNN is not fake news.  I just occasionally, but not often, have a different interpretation of the facts than they do and this is one of those times.

President Donald Trump is concerned about whether his son Donald Trump Jr. might have exposure in the special counsel’s Russia investigation, leading to his increasingly frenzied public agitation over Robert Mueller, sources close to the White House tell CNN.

The article tends to go toward the feeling that Trump cares about his family.

Trump does not give a flip about anybody but Trump and you can paint that on the side of the barn.

The only reason Trump cares about Junior is that Junior knows all the dirt and can bury him.

I honestly believe that Trump would never do what Jared’s dad did and take the fall for his son.  Trump would sacrifice them all as long as a room full of hillbillies will scream at reporters and clap for him.  And Putin love him.  He neeeeeds Putin’s love.

I’m sorry I have a crappy attitude on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, but the Astros don’t play until 3:00  so I’ve got time to cheer up!

I Was Over At The Dairy Queen This Morning And ….

… Alfredo says this is a Big Stinkin’ Deal. I believe him.

This might not be the end of dark money in politics but it’s a damn outstanding start.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) won a stunning court decision.

In a major defeat for secret money in politics, a judge ruled that dark money groups that spend at least $250 in independent expenditures—a key type of political ad—must report every contributor who gave at least $200 in the past year as well as those who give to finance independent expenditures generally, throwing out an illegal three decades old regulation that was used to avoid disclosure and changing the legal landscape for political spending.

The fun part of this is that the decision stems from a court case in 2012 against Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS over its failure to disclose donors.

So if you have some wine left over from last night, now’s the time to give a toast to the good guys!

Thanks to Alfredo for the coffee and chat this morning.

Is This Right? This Couldn’t Be Right. I Must Be Confused.

What I thought I heard is that Donald Trump wants the ACLU to clean up the mess he made by separating children from their parents just out of meanness.

He had no plan to reunited them but he thinks the ACLU has a magic 8 ball and better access to information than the US government?

No, that couldn’t be right.   I’m sure I misheard that.

The NRA is Going Broke

August 03, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I’m not real sure about this because I truly don’t know much about the New York insurance regulatory agencies, but any time I real “The NRA is going broke,” I smile.

The gun group has been suing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state’s financial regulators since May, claiming the NRA has been subject to a state-led “blacklisting campaign” that has inflicted “tens of millions of dollars in damages.”

Best I can figure out, New York is saying that the NRA cannot market insurance policies to pay your legal bills if you burt or kill someone with your gun.  Anyway, the NRA is yelling that the sky is falling and I’m looking for my pick-axe to help it along.

You can read all about it here, but no matter, I hope they lose.

My thought to reduce guns is to require real liability insurance for every gun you own.  You know, like they now require it for cars.  That way, you end up with a big fight between the NRA and big insurance.  I wanna watch that fight.

Oh Dear.

Republican Illinois state Rep. Nick Sauer is a bit of a slime ball with a damn cherry on top.

Sauer posted pictures of his ex-girlfriend in her birthday suit on Instagram and used them to catfish other men into graphic sexual discussions. I know, slimy.

But, here’s the cherry on top.

Sauer, a member of the state House Sexual Discrimination and Harassment Task Force, is a self-described “fiscal hawk” who supports term limits and transparency in government, according to his website.

Yeah, you read that right.  He’s a member House Sexual Discrimination and Harassment Task Force.  I suspect he got on that committee because he’s a practical use expert.

So many Republican freaks, so little time.

Thanks to Robert for the heads up.

I Think It Might Be More Than Cough Syrup

August 03, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Todd Kincannon, the 37 year old former head of the South Carolina Republican Party, has been in trouble with the law.

In 2015, Kincannon was arrested for threatening his wife and locking her in his car. He blamed the incident on being under the influence of cough syrup.

This is the same guy who said that anyone who comes in contact with someone who has Ebola should be immediately executed.

Well, things have gone downhill, he was arrested for killing his mother’s 10 year old beagle with his bare hands and then stabbing it repeatedly with two kitchen knives.

His explanation this time?

“I’m the second coming of Christ and I got a command from God to do it,” the former GOP official said.

So, basically the same one Donald Trump is using.
