Remember the Rightwing Stink Over Obama and the Umbrella?

January 16, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Well, the chickens have come home to roost.

Here’s the picture they were upset about —

And here’s the whole shot —

Trump had to protect his hair, y’all.

Yeah, there’s more pictures.

Notice how big that umbrella is and he thinks it will only cover his hair?  Ego, dude.

Oh, and yeah —

Grin.

Semantics

January 16, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I need some help with semantics this morning.

That Trump immigration meeting that has been described as a kindergartener with mood swings.  It continues to be the craziest damn thing.

Behind the discrepancy: A senior GOP source familiar with the matter told CNN that instead of hearing the President say “shithole,” some Republicans heard Trump say “shithouse.”

Two Trump allies came out publicly on Sunday to dispute that Trump decried immigrants coming from “shithole countries” and sought to cast doubt on Durbin’s public account of the meeting.
Okay, so Republicans are calling Durbin a liar because he said shithole when the actual term Trump use was shithouse.

I don’t get it.

What the hell is a shithouse?  And how come that term is morally superior to shithole?

Besides, Trump doesn’t believe the people in these counties live in actual houses.  He thinks they live in huts so why would he say shithouse instead of shithole?

More importantly, are Tom Cotton and Dick Perdue trying to pretend that there’s a major difference between house and hold when preceded by the word shit?

Perdue called Durbin’s statement a “gross misrepresentation.”  Gross?  Really?  They allow Perdue to talk about gross?  Whoa – that’s irony!

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Oh Dear

Hey, you know what Bismarck said about making laws and sausage . . . .

Jimmy Dean Food Company Political PAC just got a fussy letter from the FEC about problems with their ethics filing.

Don’t watch!

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy queen for the heads up.

Texas Is Closed Today

January 16, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It is sleeting in my neck of the woods today and it might even snow this afternoon.  They closed my county.

I know I should feel blessed to live in an area where temperatures in the 20’s cause the Houston local news station to stay on all day with pictures of actual icicles.  The schools are closed, county and city government is closed, and everybody is inside making chili for dinner.

Pray for us, y’all.  We can’t stand this.

Is Trump a Racist?

January 15, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Well, your neighbors at the New York Times says there is certainly evidence of it going way back from the shithole comment.

They have made a definitive list of Trump’s racist statements and actions and then published it on MLK Day.  As expected, it’s long.

Curry Favor

Donald Trump is now saying that he never compared other counties to latrines.

And this weekend, two Southern Republican senators who were in the Trump meeting are reversing their position and now contending that Trump didn’t say it.

U.S. Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., who was in that meeting with Trump, made a course correction. On Friday, the senator put out a joint statement with Senate colleague Tom Cotton, R-Ark. Both said they couldn’t remember the president comparing Third World nations to latrines.

Couldn’t remember?  Really?  Is your memory machine in need of tinkering?

I guess Perdue heard the snickering so he took a third position:

This morning [Sunday], Perdue said it never happened. “I’m telling you he did not use that word, George. And I’m telling you it’s a gross misrepresentation. How many times do you want me to say that?”

Well, maybe enough times to make it true?

Meanwhile, conservation radio talk host host Eric Erickson, tweeted.

Apparently, rightwing Republican Southern senators are no longer in the base.
