In Austin. Gonna Hear It All

December 17, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Ya’ll, I am at the SDEC meeting in Austin today.  This afternoon all five candidates for DNC chair will speak.  I’m headed to it because I want to hear what they plan to do about party building.

For the past 8 years the DNC has been a miserable disgusting failure at party building.  We have lost all the gains we made with Democratic governors and state houses.  What good does it do us to have the presidency when we lose both houses of congress for a stalemate and then face states with Republican governors and state house who won’t impliment programs we somehow manage to get passed?

The DNC doesn’t need tweaking.  It needs a bonfire. As we should have learned by now, dammit, money alone won’t win anything if you are spending that money with consultants who haven’t learned any new tricks since Elvis died.

I will take good notes but you probably won’t hear from me tonight because Ole Bubba and I are going to Marble Falls to see the Christmas lights.

UPDATE: If Only He Could be unPresidented

December 17, 2016 By: El Jefe Category: Dammit!, Trump

UPDATED FOR SPELLING CORRECTION: Cheeto Jesus has been Tweet Storming this morning, starting early.  Here’s one of his latest missives that I screen shot:

screen-shot-2016-12-17-at-7-55-29-amIt’s unprecedented, genius.  If only he could be un-presidented.

Unbelievably, it’s still up on Twitter if you want to have a look before his minder wakes up and deletes it (no, I’m not going to link it for you).

UPDATE: CJ’s minder got up late this morning and has corrected the spelling.  Dammit.

Update on the Site Issues

December 16, 2016 By: Anna The Geek Category: Uncategorized

Anna The Geek here. First of all, I really appreciate your patience and good humor in dealing with all the issues with the site. It’s been crazy. Really crazy. So here is an update.

I have put in a better but still a temporary fix to the comment issue. You will need to fill out your name AND email again. For now, it’s every time you comment. So disregard Juanita’s previous directives.

Some of you are not able to see the latest posts and/or comments. I am still working on that. For now, reload the page, try another computer, click on December 2016 archives.

Bluehost has been a very reliable, cheap, and easy to work with hosting provider until December 10 when they updated the server and had network issues and the wait times to talk to them started approaching 2 hour mark. I am willing to give them a benefit of a doubt for now. But you can be sure I am not exactly thrilled with this happening during the holidays and right before the Electoral College vote.

Again, thanks for your patience and kind words. You are absolutely the best.

Here’s the Deal

December 16, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, we’re still trying to figure out what’s wrong with the website and the comments.  Meanwhile, Anna the Geek has has given us a temporary fix.

Until we get all this worked out, I will be approving all comments.  IMPORTANT:  Just put the name you use at Juanita’s in the name box and no email address.

Hopefully, we’ll have this fixed soon.

Third World Texas

December 15, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Once again, and this is at least the fourth time this year, the good people of beautiful Corpus Christi, Texas, are being told not to drink the water, cook with it, brush your teeth or even bathe in it.  Boiling it won’t do any good.

No other information has been provided and several of my friends didn’t get the news until after their morning shower and teeth brushing.   Schools have been closed.

Corpus’s economy is driven by the oil and petrochemical industry, which, according to Rick Perry, need less regulation.

Energy Secretary Rick Perry – well, that scares the peewahdoodle outta me.

Thanks to my friends in Corpus for the heads up.
