I Have a Fever And There’s Just One Cure: Benghazi!

August 05, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

To the chagrin of Republicans everywhere …

… the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee did something rather remarkable. It voted to declassify its Benghazi report. After two years of investigation, it found no evidence to buttress any of the conspiracy theories surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that killed Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, and three other Americans.

No conspiracy?  Wait, air, there’s something wrong.  A House committee led by Republicans – 12 Republicans and 9 Democrats on the committee – voted unanimously to accept the report that says “all of the things that were alleged to have happened didn’t happen.”

So where is the apology?  Wrapped in an enigma in the riddle of Darrell Issa’s heart?

Lois Lerner

Sorry, GOP.  No impeachment here.

Let’s Make This Official

Rick Perry has set about raising money to run for President of the United States of America.

He’s calling it RickPAC.  I guess IdiotPAC was already taken.

And now we get to the part where Rick is not well known for making good decisions.

The treasurer of RickPAC, Stefan Passantino, is the head of the political law section of the Washington law firm McKenna Long & Aldridge. He is also a longtime legal adviser to Newt Gingrich.

Newt Who?

Seriously, whoever gave Newt advice should get out of the advice business.  Maybe open a transmission repair company or get one of those carpet cleaning trunks.  Anything but advice.

The assistant treasurer, Corry Bliss, has served in statewide political campaigns in Vermont and Georgia, and his aggressive, bare-knuckled political style has been compared to Karl Rove.

Oh cool, another guy who doesn’t believe in election returns?  This might be fun.

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

Holy Crap: The Cruz Curse

August 04, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Honey, if you think Ted Cruz is a jerk, you ain’t met his daddy.  Daddy Cruz came to the US in 1957 at the age of 18.  He waited 48 years before becoming a United States citizen which kinda tells you something about his devotion – or lack thereof – to this country.

Screen Shot 2014-08-04 at 3.13.37 PMDaddy Cruz has recently become a minister in Carrollton, Texas.  He’s big on pick-and-chose Bibles.

Cruz said it was time for Christians to become the “salt and light” of the world, and he chastised pastors for not preaching about the sanctity of marriage and the chastity of teenagers. He accused pastors of ignoring important social issues.

Cruz added that churches should make sure “everybody in every congregation has voter’s guides that share clearly how candidates of both parties are voting on biblical issues.”

Biblical issues?  Jesus said nothing about abortion or gay marriage but he did say a lot about kindness and not judging people, which kinda makes Ted seem like he’s not right with scriptures.  I dunno.  The whole thing seems about as likely as cow patties in a Carrollton, Texas, three car garage.

War on Whites! War on Whites!

August 04, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You know how Democrats think that letting the refugee children into America and feeding them is the correct thing to do?

Republicans don’t see it that way.  They are calling it a War on Whites.

Representative Mo Brooks from the state of Aladamnbama is pitching himself a rich white boy snot nosed hissy fit.

Screen Shot 2014-08-04 at 2.24.56 PM“This is a part of the war on whites that’s being launched by the Democratic Party. And the way in which they’re launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else,” he said during an interview Monday with conservative radio host Laura Ingraham. “It’s part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things. Well that’s not true.”

Yeah, he’s pretty much right.  We kinda think that people other than old rich white boys should hold public office or have a chance of success in America.

Yu know how you know that you have too much money?  If words like “class warfare” scare the poop outta you.  If envy and greed are only okay for you.  If whatever is “all those kinds of things” keeps you awake at night.  That’s how you know you have too much money.

Governor, “Oops” is a Better Answer

August 04, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, so Governor Rick Perry is hinting that “other individuals” will soon be along the Texas border to “secure it.”  Nobody seems to know who those “other individuals” are and I pretty much think that everybody is afraid to ask.

The Texas Democratic congressfolks have asked Attorney General Greg Abbott to please, please, please not let Rick Perry send a bunch of guys with survivalist equipment that they are just hopped up ready to use, because we’re pretty sure that’s exactly what he’s pondering on doing.

Perry-Sign-2As recently as this weekend, Perry is still insisting that “over 3,000 homicides by illegal aliens over the course of the last six years” is a dead solid true statement but it’s absolutely not.

So when he was confronted to come up with facts to explain why he keeps saying something that everybody knows is 100% wrong, Perry had this answer:

“And let me go back to those numbers,” Perry told Crowley. “You know, what is the — what are the number of — I do stand by them, by the way, but what are the number of homicides that are acceptable to those individuals? How many sexual assaults do we have to have before the president of the United States and Washington, D.C., acts to keep our citizens safe?”

Duh.  Double dog duh.  How many Texans have to be killed by a gun held by a United States citizen before Rick Perry acts?  Apparently a freekin’ lot.

How many children have to die without health care before Governor Rick Perry accepts federal funds for Medicaid?  A bunch.

Rick Perry should be the last bullfrog on earth asking quantitive questions.

Just say Oops.
