The rally is over. People are crowding into the Capitol to see what happens next.

The senate recessed until Tuesday, July 9th, which means this thing is going to drag on. However, hearings on the bills could end tomorrow.

Fun fact: Texas Republicans are saying that the people in Austin today were “just a bunch of Hollywood elites.”

And more good news for Texas Democrats from District Court in San Antonio. They refuse to dismiss the redistricting lawsuit. They allowed Texas Democrats to amend our lawsuit to go forward on section 3 of the voting rights act.

It’s a great day to be a Texas Democrat. The guy in the orange hat is Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa, of the Texas Democratic party.

There are so many young women here.

Just had breakfast and we’re going over the Capitol a couple hours early to try to get a place under a tree or Rick Perry’s head, which is even bigger.

We have no idea what’s going to happen today. The Tea Party people are trying to get a couple hundred people here. There are rumors everywhere, including one that ay Senator Glen Hager doesn’t want to carry the bill in the senate because he wants to run for statewide office and knows this will hurt him. I dunno about that. I think being dumber than a sack of hammers hurts him even more.

There’s also rumors that the House won’t get a quorum today but not to make too much of that.
