And You Mean His Head Didn’t Screw Off With All That Twisted Thinking?

October 21, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

So Marco Rubio says that the Lillie Ledbetter Fair Pay Law is nothing but “a giveaway to trial lawyers.”

Trial lawyers?  Really, now.  You mean those evil horrible nasty people who make sure that employers follow the law?  Oh yeah, let’s screw them!  You mean the people who represent the last bastion of freedom?  Oh yeah, let’s screw ‘um.  And those who recover wages for women who have been cheated for a decade and make the employers pay her fairly and her legal fees, too?  Yep, screw the dickens out of them.

We cannot be having women sue for their rights.  No, siree.  Women should quit whining and be grateful they get paid at all.

Here’s the line that choked me hard:

Rubio said he supports the principle but opposes the Ledbetter legislation as a way of achieving it.

“If you’re the most qualified person for the job, you should be able to get paid — you should get paid as much as your male counterpart,” he said. “Everyone agrees with that principle.”

Oh, so it’s nice in principle but not in reality? So, if a woman does not discover that she is being paid unfairly within 180 days, screw her and her lawyer.

Thank you, Marco.  So you solution is to arm women with guns and let them just shoot whoever isn’t paying them fairly?  Heck, we’ll try it your way.

Bozo.

More of That Entitled Crap

You guys need to know something.  I am a good egg about leaving political families out of this.  I am.

You know there’s a but coming, right?

The entire Romney family is the biggest herd of entitled people on planet earth.  They are entitled to keep their tax returns secret.  They are entitled to take a tax break on their fancy horse.  They are entitled to stay out of the military and to count their politics as “service” to the country.  They are entitled to talk trash about you behind your back.  They are entitled to refer to you as “you people.”

They are entitled to have your boss threaten you to vote for them, because they are entitled to use 5 justices on Supreme Court as leverage.

… the notorious billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, two key financiers behind the Republican tea party movement, sent a voter guide to more than 50,000 workers at Koch Industries warning of “consequences” if Obama is reelected. Attached editorials by both brothers Koch condemned President Obama and praised Gov. Romney, and a preferred candidate list featured nothing but Republicans.

The practice used to be illegal, but the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling changed that when it equated money with free speech, breaking the dam between corporate profits and campaign finance.

Sixteen tons and whaddya get, another day older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don’t ya call me because I can’t go.  I owe my soul to the company store.

I think somebody should be allowed to go around behind them and say, “What would Norma Rae do?”

I will be so glad when they just go away.  I’m sick of them and their prissy ways.

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

Can you imagine the hullabaloo if Barack Obama’s second cousin twice removed had bought the voting machines that will be used in Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington and Colorado for this election?  Goodness sake, Rush Limbaugh would quivering blubber himself to death.  Which, if you think about it, might be kinda fun to watch.  In all honesty we had a blue ribbon prize hog at the county fair that was daintier than Rush.

Anyway, back to the hullabaloo.

It appears that Tagg Romney, the prissy little spoiled brat who wants to fight the President, has figure out that he who counts the votes always wins the election.

Through a closely held equity fund called Solamere, Mitt Romney and his wife, son and brother are major investors in an investment firm called H.I.G. Capital. H.I.G. in turn holds a majority share and three out of five board members in Hart Intercivic, a company that owns the notoriously faulty electronic voting machines that will count the ballots in swing state Ohio November 7. Hart machines will also be used elsewhere in the United States.

In other words, a candidate for the presidency of the United States, and his brother, wife and son, have a straight-line financial interest in the voting machines that could decide this fall’s election. These machines cannot be monitored by the public. But they will help decide who “owns” the White House.

Now ain’t that just the damnest thing you’ve ever seen?  These guys take their plutocracy very seriously.

Thanks to Kathleen, Martha, and Ralph for the heads up.

Oh Good Lord (And the Emphasis Here Is On Good and Lord)

Leakey, Texas is a beautiful little Texas Hill Country town.  I’ve been there a time or three myself and enjoyed my visit.  Not so much right now.

There’s a small church there, and I use the term church loosely, called The Church in the Valley and it is run by Pastor Ray Miller. Ray got a tad juiced up on the holy water and decided to use the church marque as a fist fight provoker.  It doesn’t take much to provoke a fist fight in Leakey but calling a man a communist is a good starting point.

The Rev. Sam Hunnicut, pastor at nearby Hunt United Methodist Church, was not amused and pastored thusly, “it is my opinion that a sign of this nature, and the underlying theology which motivates it is perhaps not that dissimilar from Westboro Baptist; or any of a number of fundamentalist groups who have chosen to identify themselves as ‘Christian.'”

Hummm …

Thems fightin’ words because he said Baptist.  So out crusades the local Baptist brethren …..

Mark Spaniel, pastor at First Baptist Church of Leakey, told The Christian Post that he has known the congregation of Church in the Valley and its head pastor Ray Miller for over two decades.

“They are among the best people and most conscientious believers I’ve ever known … Many will likely demonize him and his congregation because of the quote on the sign,” said Spaniel.

Okay, let’s take a thinkin’ break, Rev. Spaniel.  Who exactly here is doing the demonizing?  If calling a man a communist ain’t demonizing him, then you’ve been to way too many KKK meetings.

It is my belief that Rev. Ray Bob Miller knows for a dead solid hard down certain fact that President Barack Obama is not a communist.  But, he had to use the “c” word because he couldn’t use the “n” word.

Thanks to everybody who gave me the heads up on this.

Thank you, George McGovern, for inspiring a generation of Americans to tune back in and not drop out.  You fought the good fight and I remain indebted to you.

I’m still sorry you lost.  You would have been a good President.  Maybe not a good as Hubert Humphrey would have, but still good.

May your feisty life give you a peaceful passing.

Customer Jose sent us proof that somebody is watching a little too much Star Wars.

Highway 29 about 6 or 7 miles east of Georgetown …

And right along side of it —

Because if there’s anything we Democrats really hate, it’s a little freedom.

Hummm, I thought freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.

Thanks to Jose for photographic evidence.
