Thank You For Noticing, FEC

September 01, 2011 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Remember back when I told you about Dan Shelley, a legislative director for Rick Perry, and a Super PAC called Veterans for Rick Perry which was supposed to be totally independent from Rick’s campaign but the treasurer of Veterans for Perry was Dan Shelley’s wife, Bernadette?

Well, count on us to be your One Stop ‘Don’t This Look Odd’ Shop because the Federal Elections Commission saw it, too.  FEC Veterans For Rick Perry

– Any affiliated or connected organization must be identified on yourStatement of Organization. For further guidance on affiliated committees and connected organizations, please refer to 11 CFR §§100.5(g) and 100.6. If there are no other committees or organizations with which you share control or financing, please indicate “None” on Line 6. If you do share control or financing with other committees or organizations, please indicate their names, addresses, and relationships on Line 6. (11 CFR §102.2)

Oh yeah, like Citizens United didn’t give you enough wiggle room.  You need one family running several non-cahooting Super PACS.   Not only could they not speak to each other, they couldn’t even speak to themselves.

By the way, Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen is giving away free Blizzards to everyone who has a “Rick Perry is so dumb that …” joke.

Just When You Think You’ve Seen It All, You Realize There Is No Bottom to Meanness and Hate. But, If We Ever Find The Bottom, It Will Be Covered With Republicans Trying To Get There First

In one of those “We Really Can’t Let These People Govern” moments, the Pima County Republican Party, which is in Gabrielle Giffords district, is raising money…..

Now listen.

… by raffling off a Glock 40.  The same gun used to shoot Representative Giffords.

I’ll let you quit cringing before I continue.

Ready yet?

Okay.  Here we go.

You don’t believe me, do you?

The Republican Party in Arizona’s Pima County, which is represented by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), is in the midst of a fundraising raffle, $10 per entry.

The prize: the same model of gun that delivered a near-fatal blast to the Democratic lawmaker’s skull outside a Tucson grocery store in January.

Tucson is in Pima County.

Click the little one to get the big one.  That’s a screen shot from their newsletter which I just took minutes ago.

I guess they couldn’t get the original, so they threw in  three 12 round magazines, adjustable grips, and a case.  Because that’s just what you need for your well regulated militia.

In Gabrielle Giffords’ district.  Does the winner have to prove sanity or just that they have $10 and a need to shoot someone?

Thanks to Nancy for the heads-up and I do mean HEADS-FREEKIN-UP, FRIENDS.

Girl Fun!

Well, it seems that Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann are headlining today at The World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.

First, the Federal Election Commission has some questions about Ms. Palin’s Super PAC expenditures.  About that trip to the Holy Land ….. SarahPac (the whole thing in pdf format)

Itemized disbursements must include a brief statement or description of why each disbursement was made. Please amend Schedule B supporting Line 21(b) of your report to clarify the following description(s): “Chief of Staff,” “COS Consulting, Mileage Reimbursement,” “Fundraising, Meetings, Communication,” “Fundraising, Treasurer Consulting,” “fundraising and Treasurer,” “Fundraising and treasurer duties Consulting,” and “Political and COS Consulting.” For further guidance regarding acceptable purposes of disbursement, please refer to 11 CFR 104.3(b)(3)(i).

And then there’s Ms. Bachmann.  In South Carolina, Bachmann is running anti-Rick Perry ads, which makes her our Hooter Toter of the Day!  She is the first time Republican recipient of this prestigious award.   You can see the ad and donate to the cause right here.

Oh, this is going to be a fun primary season.
