The Super DeLux Brand Christian from East Texas?
Yeah, yeah, you remember him.
Well, he’s making headlines again.
Rep. Berman accused of harassment
Lawmaker says complaint was ‘a family matter’
Updated: Wednesday, 18 May 2011, 5:38 PM CDT
Published : Wednesday, 18 May 2011, 5:18 PM CDTAUSTIN (KXAN) – State Rep. Leo Berman was the subject of a harassment investigation initiated by police in the Dallas suburb of Lewisville that centered on dispute over the custody of his grandchild.
“The case is now closed,” said Berman, a Tyler Republican who has served in the Legislature since 1999. “It was a family matter.”
Lewisville police would not comment on the matter, but Berman, 75, said he was notified by the department that his step-daughter had complained that he had sent harassing text messages. Berman said he was concerned that the step-daughter was not allowing the grandchild to see him and his wife.
He said that he was also notified that no action would be taken against him.
Leo, Babe, I wouldn’t let my grandchildren around you either, and I don’t even have any.
You can’t take the trailer park out of the guy. You just can’t.
Thanks for Steven for the heads-up.
The Daily Newt
.
And y’all thought this would be hard. Ha!
Newt Gingrich, after spending 20 years in Washington and a decade in Washington as a lobbyist, he claims to be a Washington outsider.
And what he said to the Christian Science Monitor? He’s all about change.
Change. Hummmm …..
“This campaign will be the most change campaign,” Newt Gingrich.
Look at him. He’s got loco camped out in his eyeballs.
Ya Gotta Love Stephen Colbert. You Just Gotta.
.
There’s a theory in Texas that everyone has two heads – their regular head and their fool head. This is necessary because we tend to often laugh our fool heads off. Having that extra one makes this a less complicate task.
I am laughing my fool head off this morning, thanks to Colbert.
Stephen Colbert may have come upon the perfect way to make some campaign finance reform.
Stephen Colbert might be on the verge of creating quite a headache for Fox News and its contributors, including Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Karl Rove.
On Friday, the Comedy Central host was at the Federal Election Commission to file paperwork on his new “Colbert Super-PAC” and find out whether he can promote his political action committee on “The Colbert Report” or whether it will be considered a campaign contribution from the network’s parent company, Viacom.
Oh, this should be good.
Tim Pawlenty
.
“Children who are victims of failed personal responsibility are not my problem, nor are they the problem for our government.” — Majority Leader Tim Pawlenty, April 2001 – as quoted in the Aitkin Independent Newspaper
“What a cockamamie crock of cow confetti. Good Lord, this guy makes a hornet look cuddly,” Juanita says with amazement this morning.
“As we say in Texas, ‘Just because his breath smells like bananas don’t mean he’s Tarzan,'” she begins. “And just because Pawlenty is the next Republican at bat for Presidential consideration don’t mean he’s Presidential material. They don’t have a deep bench, you know.”
“Even Fox News jumped all over him for saying that President Barack Obama wear Depends. What the hell kind of thing to say is that? It’s not even clever. It’s just third grade humor. What’s he gonna do if he’s President? Say that Netanyahu eats paste?”
“Y’all,” she says with exasperation, “this is the guy who Sarah Palin beat out for McCain’s running mate. How bad do you have to be to lose to Sarah Palin?”
Juanita says she’s willing to start a betting pool on how long he lasts. She’s betting on longer than Noot, maybe.
(Okay, okay, I know it’s silly to make fun of someone’s name, but, cripes, we’ve run out of things to make fun of him about. Newt has been through the whole list.)
