Victoria, Texas
Victoria, Texas, is about an hour’s drive from where I live. I have a lot of good friends there and by friends, I mean Democrats I know and love.
This is not a good morning in Victoria.
Flames engulfed the Islamic Center of Victoria, destroying the building in the predawn hours Saturday as congregation members watched from the curb, overcome with emotion.
“It’s a house of worship,” Shahid Hashmi, president of the center, said as he watched the flames from across the street.
Morning prayers were held on the sidewalk in front of the mosque.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but I recall a couple of years ago that someone plead guilty to spray painting H8 on the side of the mosque.
If the spirit moves you, they are determined to rebuild. You can pitch in a couple of dollars if you want to send a message of love.

8Does Trump realize that there is a very large magnificent mosque right in D.C. just minutes from the White House? Its the one W visited after 911. there are also mosques in every suburb in VA where I live. IF anything happens to any one of them, the ashes will be dumped on him!

I was able make donation a minute ago. Whatever problems they were having appear to have been fixed. It was up to $127K when I added mine.
I’m nontheistic, and embarrassed to be American when this crap happens.
11Valentines Day is just around the corner and this year my husband is giving me the Victoria Islamic Center! I’m giving him an additional donation to the ACLU and a contribution to ProPublica. Because flowers are lovely and last a week but the First Amendment should last a lifetime!
12They’re up to $190K. I would have given more but– I hate to say it– there may be more garbage like this, and I don’t want us to be tapped out on the first one….

13While the evil, repugnant violence some can do is horrible, the love and caring shown by the vast majority in the country gives hope. Trump cannot trample the true American spirit. He and his evil will be trampled instead. The marches have just begun.
