The “Memo”

February 02, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

“The latest attacks on the FBI and Department of Justice serve no American interests – no party’s, no president’s, only Putin’s.”

John McCain

Did Trump even read the memo?  I mean, you gotta admit that when he said the memo says there will be six more weeks of winter, you did have suspicions.

I’m reading it right after lunch.

Okay, I read it.  Nunes released his memo —-

  1. A pity the so-called Patriots in the right wing won’t stand up and join John McCain.

But it won’t happen. They have obviously made a deal with the devil that their only hope this fall is to stick together, even if some of the sticky stuff is from Donald Trump.

If there was ever a doubt that Donnie and Devin Nunes are both colluding fools, Devin removed all doubts that he is a fool. “In defense of the virginity of Carter Page,” or whatever the silly preamble was to that memo, it was a fool’s errand.

2018. Cleaning House is a must.

  3. Just finished reading it.
As I understand it they are claiming the warrant was obtained using information from Steele who they say was pro Hilary and did not want Trump to get elected.
They are not disputing the information used to get the FIsa warrant was false, just that the info was obtained by a person/ persons who was pro Hilary and this was not disclosed to the court when the warrent was requested.

They did name some names and I do feel sorry for those people.

  4. Demented donnie decides to use the “memo” as an excuse to not just fire Mueller et.al. but a thorough purge of office and DoJ while having agents seize all documents etc from investigation and destroy them before courts get involved, hell he might just have Muellers office fire bombed to accomplish this.
He will probably assume that if he did this SuperBowl weekend no one will notice.
Just as he thought everybody would support his firing of Comey.

What is remarkable to me, is the fact there some 9 billion souls the planet and Trump has besmirched every damn one of them, except PUTIN!

  6. Giving the devil credit, the people who burned the Reichstag weren’t dumb enough to precede it by memo.

    6
  7. the demented one is just following the playbook laid out by walker thuglicans in Wiscosin on the “john Doe” investigation.
With a subservient state supreme court populated with mindless ideologues he got that investigation squashed ( a bit like how Kay baby got her investigation squashed)
Now that the drumpftards populate the federal bench with a well trained pack of obedient pets on the supreme court (5) he will skate.

It’s a Chinese Memo. You eat a memo and 15 minutes later you’re hungry again.

Nunes forgot to mention that the endless series of investigations into Benghazi and HRC’s emails were entirely objective, unbiased, and not motivated by anyone who was opposed to Hillary Clinton.

  11. JJ, you are absolutely right. There is no baloney in this sandwich even though it is composed of such. Just watched a batch of lawyers with government experience on the electric TV. It seems that “collusion” should have a meaning but no one quite knows what it is. Corroboration and collaboration are well known and there seems to be plenty of both on the tRump side of the equation. It also seems that “bias” is not a crime and hence not the Singing Sword Nunes thought it would be. More and more it looks as if tRump has formed a traditional circular firing squad and he is in the middle and too damn dumb to know it. this is all grist for the Dems mill. Will all of this prove to be the housecleaning tool on Capitol Hill that many hope it will be come the November elections? Well, if the 67% that are not in tRumps base are able to figure out this rabbit hole, it just might work. No guarantees, though.

Yo Donnie! Hold my beer. It’s Mueller Time!

Rumor on the streets is that Mueller may make his move this spring. He apparently doesn’t want to release anything too close to the midterm elections.

  13. This is like a degree from Drumpf U: A Whole lotta promotion with no tangible result.

That being said, there’s a sucker born every minute.
    (or is it every tweet?)

    13
  14. Golly gee!!! Nunes has admitted that he never read the memo he based his on! Aren’t we all surprised! Not!!
I do not recall this event but did Mueller ever interview with the tRump gang about coming back as the head of the FBI? And was rejected? And, of course, is now supposed to be biased to the hilt and back. Anybody out there remember this?

    Memo released. Atlas shrugged.

  16. This Nunes document is not a “memo”, it is a right-wing position paper, which omits details from the supporting documents which could render each point false. Trump/Nunes know that American voters will never get to see the classified documents so they are lying with impunity.
Those of us who are rational human beings don’t believe a word of it, given the Trump/Nunes track record, but the “low information” voters will fall for it big time. They will cite this as proof that the Russia investigation is a hoax and FOX
news will cement this piece of crap into the minds of the Trumpists.
    Democracy doesn’t work with stoopid.

    16

And, of course, Drumpf claimed total vindication from collusion and other charges without listing any evidence.

    17
  18. So, the only rationale (oops, sorry, can’t use that word in a Trump sentence) explanation might be that some naïve lawyer is preparing for trial, and as I recall the rules of most evidence books say a “governmental document” is admissible at trial because they are reliable by rule.

And that memo, as adopted by the committee, probably falls within the definition of a governmental document now, meaning some uni-browed juror might get stuck on the value of an official government document.

And that assumes Trump will not approve a Democrat response as that, then, would also become an official government document. So, if he doesn’t approve it, that is likely why.

Excellent point. Also, I saw an analyst yesterday point out that the FBI and DOJ folks who are getting thrown under the bus are the ones who have the ability to expose this treasonous attack on themselves and their colleagues. But if they do, they’ll do exactly what they warned repugnantcans against doing. Endangering intelligence assets (people), exposing methods, and weakening our country in ways we probably can’t even imagine. Oh, and providing support to foreign countries like, say, RUSSIA.Not to mention violating their oaths. Rock, meet hard place.
Nunes relying on Gowdy to read and “sum up” the full classified information creates a nifty little cushion between himself and treason. (At least it seems like what he’s thinking)
Maybe it’s just me. But I would think chairing the intelligence community would seem to imply a certain amount of responsibility for his actions, whether he chooses to infect himself with pesky things like details, or not.
    Smells like treason to me.

    19
  20. Committee. Not community. Although I get the impression that Nunes fancies himself chairman of the intelligence community. If only he could get Sean Hannity to say it out loud, on the air. Instead of only whispering it in his ear.
And that’s as far as I wanna take that particular mental image.

  21. Diane, go to Lawfareblog.com. Some very learned professors of law discussed how a FISA warrant gets issued. The first Fisa on Carter was issued in 2013; long before Nunes, Cheetolini, or Manafort ever hit the front pages. The judge has to see several, VERIFIABLE sources before issuing a surveillance order. It DOESN’T MATTER if the source of the information is biased, paid for, or submitted by one of those monkeys writing Shakespeare; it’s the information that has to be correct. Usually three pieces of information won’t be sufficient, but when you get to a dozen verifiable facts; things start to happen. Page’s FISA was renewed 3 times! I’m getting the really big bag of popcorn for his trial this fall.
