Please Help Me, Folks!

November 09, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It’s Ballot by Mail Application time in Texas.  Y’all have come through with several thousand dollars every time we’ve done it.

Special treat this year – the applications will give you a full year of ballots so we only have to do this once a year every two years now.

While we are targeting the counties along the coast hit by Harvey, any extra monies will cover other small counties in Texas.

I love that you do this. I’m happy to have kicked in a bit to help : )

Done! Wish I had known how to make it in someone’s honor. I’d have put it in honor of my homophobic, racist, Republican, sister.

  3. That Other Jean says:

Done. Thanks for the opportunity to help turn Texas blue.

  4. I just sent my donation, and while I read the long explanation, I didn’t understand the amounts for the counties (not that it matters), but I am curious and wonder if you would let us know.

  5. AlanInAustin ... says:

Done! BTW, what’s the target amount?

I seem to recall that once upon a time you did this and had a target amount for each county. If that’s right, can you do it again? It’d be cool to brag about buying a whole county!

  6. Craig Waters says:

Done. Thank you, Miss Juanita, for all the hard work you do.

    7
  7. In the past, I have paid for Culberson County. It’s already blue but your and Glenn’s hard work makes it more blue which helps the statewide effort. How much to keep (John) Culberson blue?

    8
  8. Juanita Jean Herownself says:

James, Culbertson County is $84 for the fancy program and $18 for the basic program.

  9. Juanita Jean Herownself says:

Yep. I’ll do that tomorrow. Just trying to get the most needy counties first.

    10
  10. Done. Just curious though — how much will it take to get Glen to dance nekkid on a table, and will you let us know when we’re getting close? If necessary, I can probably come up with a bit more.

    11
  11. Glad to make a contribution, and I second what Rubymay said.

    12
  12. Juanita Jean Herownself says:

No, Rubymay, no. Glen dancing is enough. Dancing in the table nakkid is more than I want to know about. Glen and I are heading this weekend in Salado, Texas, to help them raise money for their ballot by mail program. And, yes, I will let you know how it’s going and add other counties that need adopting.

    13
  13. If you and Glen are not volunteering for it, can we donate to get other people dancing naked on tables and do we get photos in advance (head shots will do)?

  14. Opinionated Hussy says:

Rhea, honey, I haven’t giggled that much since Middle School! and, Juanita – I’m afraid we’re gettin’ a little rowdy here….nothing matches the fun of Democratic ladies getting our fundraising on!

    15
  15. Rhea – thanks for that, even if they did close the bidding just when things were gettin’ good.

And JJ, forget the table – I wanna see Glen dancin’ on a pony keg!
