Loss of Civility
I have some favorite moments from the O’Rourke / Cruz debate last night.
In the era of no-irony, Cruz snapped at a reporter who asked about the loss of civility. Listen carefully and you can hear guffaws from the audience.
To hear Ted Cruz blame the left wing for lack of civility is itself some kind of weird thinking all on its own.
And there’s Cruz’s six seconds of silence when asked about being a human being. He was visibly shaken by the question.

dirt · muck · grime · mud · mire · sludge · slime · ooze . It’s difficult to listen to Lyin’ Teddie Crooze and see his face at the time. Although it was fun at times to see old Teddie in golf spikes tap dancing on his own shortcoming. Points to Congressman Beto O’Rourke for appearing on the same stage as Crooze and not get covered in croozy back splatter.
Beto is within single digits. The deciding intangible will be the youth vote. It’s encouraging with a reported 77% registered to vote with over 50% expected to vote. Good luck Texas! We’re hoping for that same youthful enthusiasm to oust Dean Heller in favor of now Congresswoman Jacky Rosen.
H/T also to our largest percentage (53) and greatest voters, the women. Interesting change from the old chivalry of “women and children first” off a sinking ship to women and children are the future.
1Come on……..Ted..
2If a Civility War broke out last night, “C’mon… Ted” picked the wrong side.
3My favorite – probably when Beto warned everybody that Ted would lie to them – just like “our president” said. And there was a lovely shot about the tax cuts as corporate giveaway, while income inequality is higher than its been since “the last Gilded Age”. Beto did great.
4“The hardest thing about this job is being a dad.” Yeah, when you try to kiss your daughter and she cringes away from you like you’re the neighborhood perv…. Won’t try to find that, but I’ve seen the video.
5how about a mash up of gov. good hair failing to remember 3 departments he wanted to close and canadian rafael’s silence on being human.
6Go Beto! Texas would look so good in bluebonnet blue.
7Seriously, Ted?
The lowest point was the way the Democrats treated Kavanaugh?
The way Kavanaugh has treated numerous women was far lower than that, Ted.
The way you and your fellow travelers leashed the FBI during the **ahem** “investigation” was lower.
But you, Ted, are ignoring the lowest of all: those would be the times Trump attacked your father and your wife and you turned around and stuck your tongue up his anus.
