Here’s What Happens When Baptist Gather

October 02, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I suspect that most of you heard about the football team scandal at Baylor University, a school associated with the Baptist church, in Waco.  It seems that some of the black players were raping and sexually assaulting female students at Baylor, but no one would listen to them and/or the administration covered it up.

The president of Baylor at the time this was happening was Ken Starr, yes, the same Ken Starr who was overly-interested in the details of Bill Clinton’s sex life.  After being accused of turning a blind eye, Starr resigned.

Breaking news is this story.

News 10 has learned Baylor University officials are investigating allegations the former Chairman of the Baylor Board of Regents made racial slurs against Baylor’s black football players and inappropriate sexual remarks about female students at the university.

Two people have come forward to say the heard former Baylor Regent Richard Willis make some … distasteful comments while all the raping and assaulting was going on at Baylor.

“The Chairman had referred to some portion of the Baylor football team using the “n” word,” said Ker.

“Willis made comment to the effect ‘the reason Baylor has such highly qualified (black) football players is because Baylor has the best blonde haired, blue-eyed…’ and he used a very bad term relating to the young girls at Baylor.”

This has come up in lawsuit filed by the women who were victimized at Baylor.

Willis denied he ever made those comments …

“Rev. Ramiro Pena, Pastor of Christ the King Baptist Church, was with me the entire evening. He stated under oath in a deposition that he never heard me make these despicable comments on the evening in question or at any other time,” Willis writes.

Yeah, and Baptists don’t see each other coming out of the liquor store, either.

One of the women’s lawyer says there’s a tape.  Honestly, I don’t doubt it.

Way to go, Baptists.  Hey, no more tsk-tsking for the rest of y’alls damn life.

Would be a much better piece if the racial identifier were removed from the second sentence.

For what it’s worth, the pastor quoted above is known locally for his support of the pussy grabbing president.

  3. Literally everything about the Texas Baptist churches my sainted parents attended while I was a child drives me crazy. Although Baylor has never impressed me as a university, several friends graduated with bachelors’ or Law degrees and assure me academic education actually takes place there. I doubt them but don’t drag the argument on further. Christ the King sounds much like the Second First Baptist Church and etc churches formed from splinter groups that started within the First Baptist Church in my little hometown. Maybe I need to ordain myownself in the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas and establish Micr Baptist Church of All Worlds and Radiator Repair Shop in beautiful suburban Dallas. “Where only the Best Worship”. I’d use a collection agency to ensure the tithe was met every year. Cause it’s money is how we keep score. Right?

And since 2010 why do we concern ourownselves with rapin’ and such when we got Supreme Court seats to steal?

Read this which triggered flashback: a Mel Brooks’ classic with Cleavon Little…..”where the white women at!?” …someone off screen should have yelled “Baylor!”

I was born a Baptist. Well before I was born my home church was organized on my grandparents’ front porch and the church to this day bears the family name. The hubs has been a Baptist minister all our 45+ years of marriage. I know Baptists, and particularly ministers. These [get creative with your expletives here, Momma’s ghost is still looking over my shoulder] are lying [more expletives]. I know the type. I know them all too well from too many years of experience. They Hell For Certain (it really is a place in KY) are lying. If you believe otherwise I have some ocean front property in Nebraska for sale.

Of course they are Trump* supporters. They hide their power grabs (yes, intended) behind Jesus’ robes. You may add despicable to deplorable.

BOBs (Big Ole Baptists) are the WORST when it comes to hypocrisy. Over here in East Texas the woods are full of em’. They are sanctimonious on Sunday and sacrilegious on Monday.

I had that same thought, but upon reading further I think it’s relevant to the story, in that it’s about the guy’s comments specifically regarding the black football players.

  10. Wow. Republicans are honing their skills. A twofer. Brutally racist AND cruelly sexist in a single sentence.

  11. Why is it that every time someone mentions Ken Starr I automatically think of . . .

    Oh, yeah! That’s right.
