The Republicans have a brilliant plan.  They do something dirty nasty horrible to try to kill democracy and then they wave bright shiny things in my face to keep me from remembering the dirty nasty horrible thing to destroy democracy that they did in the first place.

I am easily distracted by shiny crap. I know that because I can go driving around looking at Christmas lights and never really remember any of them individually because I’m distracted by the house across the street before I commit any of them to memory.

So ….

I am wondering, is this Important or is it Shiny Crap? Michael Flynn palling-around with the Russians.

Reuters reported last month, citing three sources familiar with the matter, that Flynn had held five phone calls with Kislyak on Dec. 29, the day then-President Barack Obama retaliated for Moscow’s alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The Post said Flynn on Wednesday denied that he had discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador, but on Thursday backed away from the denial through a spokesman.

You know, that would be kinda bad, especially since President Obama fired Flynn for being a hysterical, Chicken Little whiny butt jackass.  Did Flynn call Russia and say, “Don’t worry about the black guy because we can fix this?”

It sounds like a really big deal but only because I think it may be a trinket on the Christmas tree of Russian interference in our election.

There’s this right here breaking news today.

And far more likely, there’s no contact between the Trump campaign and Mike Pence.

Big news days yesterday and today.  The Cheetopalooza in front of the press was, in his own words, “a disgrace”.  While calling the intelligence dossier “fake news”, and unsubstantiated, he categorically denied it.  THEN, a BBC correspondent, Paul Wood, revealed that there is a SECOND source confirming the assertions in the report:

AND, in other well timed irony, the law firm advising CJ on his conflicts, by pure coincidink, is Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, which has been named “Russia Law Firm of the Year” for 2016 by law profession directory Chambers & Partners for its “high-profile” work in Russia.

It doesn’t get any better than this.  I’m popping popcorn.

Can you imagine how difficult it has been today for conservatives today to explain to their children the meaning of golden showers?  LOL!!!

I’m not a big fan of Lindsey Graham, but sometimes he delivers great lines.  Yesterday in an interview with Wolf Blitzer, he delivered one:

“If it was a 400 lb. guy, it was a 400 lb. Russian guy.”

Yesterday the New York Times published an explosive story detailing the boldness of two Russian hacking groups infiltration of government and political party computer systems and the stupidity of those, especially at the DNC, that allowed both groups access to EVERYTHING for over a year.  The “IT Guy” was a part timer, who ignored multiple attempts by the FBI to warn the DNC that they were compromised, and especially makes the FBI look inept because no one from the agency went to actually visit higher ups to report that they knew the DNC was hacked and who was doing it.

Most disturbing was the complicity of the media when it was clear what was going on when the daily email dumps began, and how the Republicans, trying to win the election by hook or crook (emphasis on crook) refused to cooperate with the Dems and the Obama administration to go public with what they knew.  Infuriating is the fact that the hackers got in like they do to unsuspecting people every day, with a fake Google or other provider email saying “click here to change your password”.  You would think that government and party staff would know better, but apparently not.

The result is that the Russians actually helped Cheeto Jesus get elected.  The continuous noise of the email and document dumps, the uncritical and breathless reporting by the media added to the stupidity of DWS and other DNC leadership all came together in the conflagration we are seeing today.

All of this could have been prevented, but we are now in a post democracy era where party trumps country (no pun intended).
