Weekend Update

September 30, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I HATE DONALD TRUMP.

This friendly reminder was brought to you by the letters W, T, and F and the good folks at Twitter.

And a word from Steve Schmidt, John McCain’s former campaign manager …

Whadda guy.

And the United States general in charge of the relief effort in Puerto Rico says there’s not enough troops and equipment there.

Be social and share!

  1. We’re gonna need a bigger boat.

    1
  2. Who to believe? San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz on the ground and among the people passionately stating the obvious or the old Cooter-in-Thief with his lying lips. Sputter. So Donnie finally sent a 3 star who confirms what Mayor Cruz has been telling us for 10 days. Factor in the 7+ day warning that a level 5 was about to level Puerto Rico. As Mayor Cruz has been stating they need food, water and medical supplies. Transportation and communications are also essential to efficient logistics support. We can do this. Hmmm … logistics, transportation and communications.

I join Mayor Cruz in begging Jack Kelly to sit the ample butt toddler down, shove a pen in his petty wee paw to authorize the readily available military resources to perform the obvious.

  3. Maggie O'Neill says:

He fits every word of the definition of psychopath.

i fear he is following instructions to turn the Island into an example of what Naomi Klein identifies as Disaster Capitalism, as we saw happen after Katrina.
That would explain the total lack of response from Gov’t to the crisis until now.

    3
  4. A bit of post-hurricane humor, if such is possible.

My nephew was in DFW yesterday and we spent a pleasant hour or so together before his next airplane headed northwest. I said/asked so you were in the Houston area during the hurricane as a rescue swimmer, right? His answer “Well more of a rescue wader, but yeah.” Love this guy to death! Go Coast Guard!

    4
  5. I did listen to park of his Puerto Rico speech, I swear right after he mentioned PR’s debt I thought he was going to say ” this hurricane will be the best thing that ever happen to them”! Fuming still!

  6. JAKvirginia says:

“This friendly reminder was brought to you by the letters W, T, and F…”

    And the following:
    Trump Airlines
    Trump Steaks
    Trump Wines
    Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City….

    How do you spell “Success”?

    6
  7. Maymoon, in that speech Donnie revealed the entire “Trump Doctrine” – “what’s in it for me”. Dolt45 already bankrupted a golf course in PR and left the taxpayers there with a multimillion dollar bill. The Gov of Puerto Rico needs to scream a huge “NO” if Donnie threatens to send Betsy Devos to ‘help’ rebuild the schools.

Micr, funny man your nephew! More than a bit fashioned after his uncle.

    7
  8. Fenway Fran says:

Interesting fact check piece on the Trump bankruptcy in the WaPo today. But the bottom line, according to Eric, was that the Trump organization walked away with $600 million buckeroos without investing a dime. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/09/30/did-president-trump-add-33-million-to-puerto-ricos-debt-by-bankrupting-a-golf-course-there/?hpid=hp_hp-cards_hp-card-politics%3Ahomepage%2Fcard&utm_term=.e6ce2c6f6243

    8
  9. I hate him too.

And I don’t hate many people, nor do I keep hating them. Because it’s corrosive to my own soul. But mostly because it just takes too much energy, and exhausts me.

But this vile creature Trump, this black hole in human form, that sucks everything else into its own insatiable void: I fear and despise it. And pity it too, but only a little. He/it must be removed from power, and put somewhere where he can’t do any more harm. The courts and Congress are too slow. We need Amendment 25. Now.

    9
  10. Maggie O’Neill:
I thought the same thing. A lot of folks who fled New Orleans never went back. And developers moved in. I’ve got a feeling that a lot of real estate will be changing hands and the then former inhabitants won’t be able to afford housing in the land of their ancestors. Just like Naomi Kline said.

    10
  11. Lunargent, you summarized my feelings about Orange Whore and his minions very well. I’ll add another reason for my hate- He’s really hurting people, really physically, psychologically and materially hurting people. Worst of all, he and his minions are doing so deliberately. That makes me insane with rage. I simply cannot fathom that cruelty, but psychopaths such as them don’t even notice.

My theory is that, with the advent of the Koch/Dick Armey created tea baggers and the $ of the Mercers, Soros, etc., the religious right fakirs like Jefress, Dobs, Falwell, Franklin, etc., decent Republicans have been driven out of the party. In the meantime, the truly sociopathic ones have filtered up to leadership positions in DC and many state houses. To truly save the republic, Citizens United must go by constitutional amendment and the snacilbupeR party must be eviscerated from the top down.

(BTW, 2 high school boys, a D and an R, are running for gov of Kansas because they want to fix what Brownback has so badly f*cked up. There is no age requirement in KS.)

    11
  12. “They want everything done for them….’

This mf jetted off to his golf resort in Jersey while millions of Puerto Ricans are suffering from lack of electricity, drinking water, plumbing water, food, medicine, transportation, useable roads, fuel, you name it and they don’t have it, often including a roof over their heads. And he could do substantial things to help them if he’d get off his fat ass and care. But they’re brown and speak Spanish, so he doesn’t give a damn.

We have friends down there and haven’t heard from them.

I’d like to take his favorite golf club and shove it up real hard where Donnie’s sun don’t shine. He is a very poor excuse for a human being.

    12
  13. I contend that there is a special place in hell for people who beat up on victims and women, especially when both categories are carried by one individual. He can’t get through a day without dumping such abuse. I do notice that ever since he went political (including his campaign) that his surviving siblings have never said a word of support for him or showed themselves in his company. Says a lot, doesn’t it.

    13
  14. Traitor trump is beneath contempt. While the wonderful, brave Mayor Cruz is working round the clock to help the people of Puerto Rico, psychopath trump plays golf, lies on twitter and generally whines about people being nasty. As far as I’m concerned, traitor trump needs to be stripped of every penny, impeached, convicted and imprisoned for life. Preferably in the prison wing housing Hispanic gangs.

    14
  15. I ranted about Puerto Rico earlier today on Twitter but I’m still seething so:

I’m just going to say it, Puerto Rico is worse than Katrina because while Katrina was ineptitude on a massive scale, when that became obvious to the world Bush DID ACT. No really, the Bush Administration rolled in with everything at least when it became obvious they’d blown the response to Katrina biggly (just in case Trumppers were reading this I want to use the right words). Not these guys, at best they don’t care and at worst they are doing this because Puerto Rico’s population speaks Spanish and has more pigment than they do.

Don’t tell me we are doing all we can to help Puerto Rico – we aren’t. Don’t lecture me about debt when yet another of Trump’s failed businesses, a golf course (like the one he’s currently languishing at so as to milk taxpayers for more subsidies), went belly up leaving PR holding the bag for $33M when he defaulted. The Cheeto In Chief does not get to lecture ANYONE about financial responsibility.

I’m going to conclude with a bit of perspective:

We supplied Berlin for nearly a year by air despite a Soviet blockade using the technology from the late 1940’s

The US reponse to Haiti earthquake in 2010 was darn near instantaneous. Within 2 days there were 8000 troops on the ground. Yet when it comes to Puerto Rico post Maria in 2017, within 8 days we just have 4400 troops. Note: Both are islands surrounded by “big water.”

The USS Comfort and The USS Arizona were enroute to Japan within 6 hours of the Tsunami. Why? Because helping is what America does or at least it’s what we used to do.

The mayor of San Juan is living in a shelter after her home was completely destroyed while Donald Trump hangs out at his air conditioned Golf club!

    80% of agriculture was destroyed.
80-90 percent of all the homes in Puerto Rico have been destroyed.
100% of the island was initially without electricity, that has barely changed.
There is no communication because cell phone towers have been virtually all completely destroyed.
Most roads have been completely destroyed.
There is only one hospital on the entire island that has electricity, supplies and staff.
There is no water. Cases of cholera now being reported in Puerto Rico.

I can’t believe this is America. We’re too incompetent or uncaring to get them water? If Puerto Rico was a state it would have the 29th largest population. They are American citizens and we are abandoning them when they need us the most.

    15
  16. JAKvirginia says:

Someone out there remarked that this was Donnie’s Katrina. Nope. This is Puerto Rico’s Katrina. It’s Donnie’s massive fail.

    16
  17. No surprise that the Toddler-in-Chief is having a PR tantrum. The mayor of San Juan is a woman — a woman of color — and is challenging his falsified reality about what is going on in her city and country. Throw in a Spanish-speaking, brown population with no voting rights in federal elections and you have the perfect mix of racism, misogyny and disregard for the plight of others for Trump’s weekly rage fix.

    17
  18. Detroit Sam says:

CAN’T STOP WATCHING GIF at END: Trump Throws Hissy Fit At Golf Course As Criticism Over Puerto Rico Response Grows

    http://addictinginfo.com/2017/09/30/trump-throws-a-hissy-fit-at-his-golf-course-as-criticism-over-puerto-rico-response-grows/

    18
  19. I’m as outraged as the rest of you, but one correction: the WashPost’s fact checker says that the $33 million default on the golf course resort in Puerto Rico was not really Trump’s fault. It was going down when he took it over, the recession happened and tourism slid, and the government kept putting money into it anyway.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/09/30/did-president-trump-add-33-million-to-puerto-ricos-debt-by-bankrupting-a-golf-course-there/

I like Tilphousia’s suggestion that Trump be housed in jail with Hispanic gangs. Can there be a camera so we can watch?

    19
  20. Rhea, while I’m not a fan of reality shows, I’d be willing to go pay per view to watch Donnie and his self righteous Republican Congressvarmints do Survivor in the mountains of Puerto Rico!

Here’s how bad it is, Mercy Corps, a charity with an A- rating, that was the last organization working in Iraq when it all went to heck in a hand-basket has landed in Puerto Rico. They do good work here’s their site. https://www.mercycorps.org/donate/urgent-send-relief-devastated-puerto-rico?source=ST3WPMSTGNEZZ0930171&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social_media&utm_campaign=puerto_rico&source=ST3WUMSTZMNZZ9999991&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social%20media&utm_campaign=unpaid
