February 13, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It’s beautiful weather here and all that block-walking for Bubba ain’t gonna do itself, so I m gifting you this excellent and very much fun story that Charles sent me from the state on my right.

It seems that Texas finds a way to pretty much ruin everything.

Enjoy!

  1. I am jealous.

It is -3 with a windchill of -22. Suppose to be -18 tonight with I- don’t -want- to- know what the windchill temp is!

LOL … I LOVE IT!! What a great story and so worth the reading!!

Well, goodness it’s to be in the 60s here in So. CO today!! So far, it’s a lovely day and this funny column about sanctimonious Baptists just made it a whole lot lovelier and FUNNER!!!

What a great story! And the comments are quite entertaining, as well. Especially like the one about similar jerks who dragged their crosses onto a Liberal Campus in Austin and said crosses had luggage wheels. Personally, I’m a Methodist who was told several times too often that I was going to hell, once by my off-deep-end Baptist brother.

  5. You were showing kindness by offering him the water before it was changed into wine. There’s no pleasing some people.

  6. I’m sorry y’all are having really cold weather, but I gotta say, that is a FUNNY story.

What a fabulous story. Not that people are getting assaulted by Jebus-thugs while at Fat Tuesday, but that this one did such a great job of exposing himself as the intolerant, not-exactly-Christian that he is. More like an authoritarian with a religious “excuse” to do all his authoritarian BS.

So much for turning the other cheek. Absolutely hilarious. Only wish I coulda been there.

  9. I collect timeless, great humor writing. This is a keeper!

  10. Sam in San Antonio says:

Somehow I can’t see any of the celebrants shouting, “Show us your bible.”

    10
  11. What a beautiful “baptism” story! There’s a lake-effect snow band parked over my area, but I’m grinning ear to ear!

  12. What was I thinking– I read that story and didn’t send it to JJ. Glad somebody did or she saw it her ownself so I got a second time to laugh at it. “Mo-ther- !”

In that photo of the signs naming all us condemned types, the yellow one seems to include “Sport Nuts.” I thought it was hard to find a Texan who wasn’t…? Even better if the top line, which I can’t read entirely, says “Fake Christians”!

Cold as blazes here in Maryland but even colder for friends near Boston. At least for them it’s supposed to shoot up about 60 degrees between Monday dawn and Tuesday afternoon (from -9° to 51°).

  13. “They wade into the heart of the party with megaphones and curse the revelers.”

Not the kind of boobs you want to see at Mardi Gras. But at least you don’t have to give them beads.

Pervangelists and the snacilbupeR share a common trait: whistling past the graveyard. However, I am not waiting for the zombies to attack them, as they are the zombies. There is no cure for st00pid, except its ability to feast upon itself.

Snack time at 9EST tonight! Featuring Jeb(?), Mental Ben, Crooze, Ksuchasheis, Roboto Rutabaga and tRump.

  15. Wow! that was way cool! I’ve been to NOLA at least a few times but never for Mardi Gras which I have been told is a good thing to view from a distance. Now I know why!

  16. Marion (formerly known as MM) says:

Right off the bat, just to let you know, I read the subtitle as “I got caught up in the croissants” instead of “the crosshairs.” So it’s all starting well!

  17. I’M READY TO COME GET SOME VOTES FOR BUBBA!!!
Down to -31 with wind chill.
The story about Fat Tuesday did warm my heart. Sanctimonious little twit.
My friends son went partying this year, said he saw a lot of naked people! But of course it’s warm there!

    I’ll not make any comment…

    18
  19. Scalia dead? I thought it was a joke until I did the google thing. Oh so many things I could say, but I’ll go with Sandridge and skip that part. Well ok, not totally skip it. Although I’m an atheist, I will say maybe there is a god.

  20. Diane, where do you live? It’s been a good winter here. Of course “here” is Minnesota, so it’s relative. Today was 7° Above Zero. Windchill is minimal. Nice, for Minnesota.

  21. Linda Phipps says:

“Tis indeed cold as a republican’s heart here in northern Virginia, but your account warmed me up. Contrary to what Maggie says, I would have loved to be there for all the fun. BTW, what did the damfool do with your “adult beverage”?

  22. Lovely story, thanks. I awoke to -1 degree F; it hasn’t gotten much warmer. But tomorrow snow and in the 30s, Tuesday, rain and 50s. Weird weather. Shared the story with my FB friends.
