Trouble in Paradise? Breaking News

April 05, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Uh oh.  Maybe nothing, but maybe something.

President Trump has removed chief White House strategist Steve Bannon from his role on the National Security Council (NSC), according to a regulatory filing dated Tuesday.

Bannon in January was elevated to a position on the NSC principals committee, in a shakeup of the council. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and director of national intelligence had their roles downgraded in the move.

The Joint Chiefs chairman and intelligence director are having their roles on the principals committee restored …

Oh hell, we gotta read tea leaves and tweets to know what’s going on.

My only concern is that he’ll appoint Ivanka.

UPDATE:

Reasons Bannon was taken off the Council:

  1.  Did not realize that sobriety was important for the meetings.
  2. Kept yelling “Incoming!” at the meetings and making fun of whoever got under the table first.
  3. Geography was not his strong suit.
  4. His turn to sleep with Putin.
  5. Suggested adding one of those “Protected by ADT” stickers on the door and call it a day.

Come on, guys, you can come up with some.

I wonder if this indicates that Reince Preibus has won this particular battle. Not that this gives me any kind of assurance about him, though.

  2. Jane & PKM says:

That’s Donnie!! When “crooks for $50” Bannon didn’t pass the sniff test, he’s going all in with “hookers for $500.”

The cooks, cleaning staff, dishwashers and all those involved with keeping the White House operational receive more serious vetting and background checks than anyone in Donnie’s inner cabal.

  3. UmptyDump says:

So Bannon is off the NSC and the energy secretary – i.e. Rick Perry – is on. That oughtta make America feel secure … riiight.

Wait, what? There’s a job that Jared isn’t doing? Well, we’ll fix THAT!

    4
  5. That had to happen. Otherwise, the media would have made a banquet of the NSA members pulling a mutiny.

  6. Jane & PKM says:

    6. Donnie was up late watching Jimmy Kimmel and learned Dennis Rodman was better qualified than Bannon to run the North Korea desk.

Both Bannon and Carter Page were Navel officers – where did the “Gentleman” part go?

  9. Reasons Bannon was taken off the Council:

Kept confusing DEFCON Level 5 with DEFCON Level 1.

My oh my. Now traitor trump can blame his aides cause they didn’t tell him Bannon would be controversial. Oops.

Drudge adds “Rick Perry to Fill Void”. Phew!

  12. Jane & PKM says:

Bud Malone, Donnie hired them special to entertain him with stories about attending Tailhook conventions.

    12
  13. He kept his security clearance so Putin’s Pipeline is still flowing unhindered.

  14. WA Skeptic says:

I think he threw Bannon out in order to deflect attention to the Putin question.

My concern is what that rat-bas***d is going to be doing when he’s out of public view.

And I think he needs to repay the USA for his free tuition at Annapolis; he’s definitely betrayed his oath.

  15. Annabelle Lee says:

So we’ve traded evil for stupid. I suppose that’s a step in the… hm.

I can’t wait for McMaster to dress Perry down for saying something vapid.

    15
  16. Jane and PKM. Good point. I wish I would have thought of that.

    16
  17. WA Skeptic says:

“…deflect attention to the Putin question.” should have been “…deflect attention from the Putin question.” Sorry.

    17
  18. “Almighty God” was a bad fit for that group.

  19. So I heard Vladimir Bannon say yesterday that he was only on the NSA to babysit Flynn, and since Flynn was out, there was no need for him to be there. Begs the questions that no one seems to be going to….. If comrade Flynn needed a baby sitter from the get go, what did they know about him, and who forced him on the NSA in the first place? Me thinks they gonna have to start counting out rubles to cover that debt to Vlad they incurred….

  20. Mother Jones' cat says:

    Reason Bannon removed from NSC:

Got angry with members of the Council because they wouldn’t go along with his idea to dress US armed forces in historically accurate Nazi uniforms.
