The Difference Between Would and Wouldn’t

July 17, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Lie, Russian Hacking, Trump

Trump’s done it again, blatantly lying and walking back his idiocy after severe backlash over his shameful performance in Helsinki yesterday.  In a nationally televised statement before a meeting with Congressional leaders, he reversed his entire position from yesterday saying that he now believes Russia DID interfere in our elections and lamely said he had misspoken when he said that “Why would they?” when denying Russia’s involvement.  He now says he meant to say, “Why wouldn’t they?”.

It’s the same old, same old, and doesn’t pass the straight faced test.  God, I’m tired.

From his lying mouth he expects we should believe he meant to say “wouldn’t” not once but twice.

That doesn’t begin to pass the sniff test: “who are you going to trust, me or your lying eyes?”

  2. Little did Putin realize how long he could get Trump pissed on, repeatedly, after he (Putin) got his hands on the original Moscow pee video. The gift that keeps on going.

  3. You knew that was coming, right?

  4. I was dozing through most of it and missed it, but Jake Tapper points out that even in today’s statement the Golgothan ad-libbed a couple of lines.
“It could’ve been a lot of people”
As Rick points out, Putin keeps on pissing.
I guess we’re finally seeing the true meaning of trickle down.
Maybe that’s why the humidity is so brutal in southeast Texas.

I found myself sitting there and when he said “i meant to say wouldn’t” I say Ok I forgive you, hahahaha. The problem is everything else he said. But his followers will forgive him and not see him for the traitor to the USA he is. Unbelievable, and yet …

  6. And his MAGAt crowd doesn’t care. They’ve swallowed so much of his b.s. that I’m surprised they haven’t all caught a severe case of orange dysentery.

Today I saw a MAGAt tweet that had a photo of Obama and Susan Rice arm-in-arm with a red-headed woman, claiming that the woman was Maria Butina. Butina is 29 years old, and though I won’t hazard a guess as to her actual age, the woman in the photo was clearly more mature than that.

MAGAts have made up so much b.s. of their own that they live in a perpetual tornado of it, and that probably explains their immunity to orange dysentery. They think we do it, too, so everything we (and the FBI, CIA, NSA, and the rest of the intelligence community, not to mention Rachel Maddow, MSNBC, and CNN) say must be a lie.

  7. Another point.
Under law all “gifts” to the president from foriegn leaders and others are required to be surrendered to the US GAO since they are by law a “gift” to the USA as a country and not to the president no matter wham it may be.
I thought from the beginning this crook would ignore this law like so many others he has trampled on.
Yesterday when presented with a soccer ball from the worlds cup, that because of its provence is worth more then just another soccer ball, demented donnie stated that he will pass this gift on to his spawn. This is illegal.
Not the most major of items but just shows theft of even the smallest of items is part of his desecration of the rule of law.

  8. Everything Trump does makes sense if you think of him as a bratty little kid. “I didn’t mean to” means “I did mean to but I didn’t know I was gonna get in trouble for it.” “No” means “I meant to say yes.” “I’m sorry I broke NATO” means “I’m not sorry at all and I’d do it again just for fun.”

  9. At lunch today I got into a discussion that once or twice got load and heated about the sitting president.

    @El Jefe
The POTUS, regardless of who sits behind the Resolute desk, occupies a near-unique position in the history of the world. The gravity of that position makes it impossible to “walk back” comments he (so far) makes. The overwhelming reason why the POTUS should not be a loose-lipped (See Trump) thoughtless (See Bush 43) brain-dead (See Ford) snake oil salesman.

    Total psychopath.

    10
  11. Of course he’s trying to walk it back, and of course 75-80% of the US population recognizes the smell of bullscheit when it hits us in the nostrils.

    12
  12. Spanish is a beautiful language and they hit a home run with caca del toro.

    13
  13. This is a classic tactic in Trump’s playbook. This particular sentence doesn’t really matter – the speech is traitorous with it deleted entirely. He is trying to change the narrative by focusing on one small item and questioning that, in order to divert attention from the big picture. It will certainly work with the talking heads on Fox – we need to ensure that the rest of the country is not so easily mislead.

    14
  14. Watch for the Republicans who were so upset by Trump’s traitorous performance on Monday to come back today and say, “Oh look, he just misspoke so it’s all OK now.”

They will not take any action to protect our democracy or to prevent the Orange Outrage from continuing his wrecking ball approach to national and international issues. The Republicans and all who still support Trump are complicit in Russia’s attacks on our country.

It’s pretty obvious that we can’t count on the Republicans in Congress. They are not about to do what’s right. They are simply interested in retaining power and accumulating more money for themselves and their cronies. And they don’t care who or what they destroy to do it.

    Get that translator before Congress!

    16
  16. May the wraith of Richard Milhouse Nixon haunt the Golden Gibbon both day and night! And may the folksy ghost of Sam Erwin invade the dreams of all of the Republican invertebrates!

    17
  17. The quislings in Congress have already started the “Well, it’s OK now” papering-over, so it’s on to the next (inevitable) horror show). The abomination of immigrant child prisons has already been eclipsed by the Helsinki grotesquies.
