Ask the Google, “How old is the president?”

If you ask me, this is proof that the whole thing was a nightmare.

  1. Opinionated Hussy says:

I must be doing something wrong. When I Google it, I get a straight answer – 71 (the oldest one yet, by the way).

  2. Ah, if he were only still our president! We could wake up and find the rest of it really was a nightmare.

  3. JAKvirginia says:

Oh, now, see you just typed that into Google? Well, you’re bound to get every weirdness under the sun. Add “wiki” right after it. Wiki is not the end all authority but it’s a sane place to start.

    Seven. The one isn’t attached.

    So fab!

  6. Pretzelogic in Philly, PA says:

As I’ve been saying since last November (when we began this Constitutional crisis) Mr. Obama is the most recent President we have (& hopefully won’t be the last).

Our Constitution is a profoundly great but imperfect political document – one of its more glaring flaws being the lack of any mechanism to correct this problem, other than holding another election on schedule. So, until we manage to pull off another LEGITIMATE election, it’s just Asterisks all the way down no matter how many impeachments follow impeachment.

    Resist!

  7. That Other Jean says:

    Thank you, Google!

    Don’t you wish?

    7
  8. That made my day.

    8
  9. Oh, for a moment there, yes, I could believe our long national nightmare was over….

    9
  10. Ah Google. If only. If only.

    10
  11. THANK G*D

According to the Google, “the president” is 56-year-old Barack Obama. In Googleland apparently time has been suspended at 11:59:59.9999 on January 19, 2017.

Oh garçon, table for 56-ish million please!

    11
  12. You have to use Google. A different search engine (Bing, Duckduckgo, etc.) probably won’t give you the same result.

    12
  13. So Bobby Ewing is still alive? I’m so confused. Happily confused.

    13
  14. Opinionated Hussy says:

Haha! Don’t know what I did yesterday, but everybody’s fave, REAL President is coming up now. I WISH!!!!!

  15. Pretzelogic in Philly: There is a mechanism to correct the problem of Donald Trump being President: Amendment XXV, Section 4. This provision is much more likely to be used successfully on Trump than is the other mechanism of impeachment. But Amendment XXV has its own weaknesses, which, when you read it, will explain why Trump is so adept and quick to appoint useful idiots, such as Rick Perry, Mr. Price, etc etc to the positions of principal officers in the Executive Branch of the federal government. Article XXV was adopted in 1967: Does anyone know why?

    15
  16. WA Skeptic says:

25th Amendment was put into effect due to several times in our history when the POTUS was effectively not able to discharge his duties (ill health or medical procedures) which did not trigger the Impeachment process because there were no “High Crimes or misdemeanors” existing. Unfortunately, it must be initiated by actions in the Legislative Branch, which will never happen with this bunch of bought and paid for traitors.

    16
  17. Linda Phipps says:

Even though I was good at my job, was sought for my direction, at 71 I knew I was done and handed in my retirement papers. Not to brag or anything, it takes a wise person to know when it’s time to move on.

    17
  18. WA Skeptic: Here is Amend. XXV, Section 4: “Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the as Acting President.”

The remainder of Section 4 provides for a back-and-forth non-violent struggle between the Deposed President and Congress.
It is an interesting process and one that has a better chance of permanently deposing Trump if there are more Democrats and intelligent Republicans in Congress than there are Trumpistas.

    18
  19. the last two lines are garbled. Should read “…the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”

  20. Pretzelogic in Philly, PA says:

Amendment XXV, like impeachment, would provide a temporary fix for the specific problem of Trumpsky occupying the White House. Unfortunately, it does nothing, nor does any other provision of the Constitution, to remedy the more fundamental problem – the 2016 election was NOT LEGITIMATE.

Removing Trumpsky addresses the most immediate PART of the problem (& I’d like that done yesterday, please). However, removing the current Asterisk only would replace him with another Asterisk (likely part of the same treasonous conspiracy). Removing THAT one would only install yet ANOTHER and ANOTHER etc until you get clear to Asterisk Orrin Hatch (who would still be an Asterisk under the circumstances, just the 1st one we reach who PROBABLY wasn’t party directly to treason).

Still Asterisks all the way down. The Constitution has no real fix for this (eg declaring the election officially illegitimate and void, & holding an emergency special election or just declaring the candidate with the most votes not implicated in the fraud, ie Hillary, the “real” winner, etc).

No real fix until 2020, when HOPEFULLY we can pull off a legitimate election. Till then… it’s Asterisks all the way down.

    🙁

    20
  21. There is that problem, I agree. But I also think there is not anyone in the Trump Admin, or in the line of succession, who is as dangerous, as likely to do something with bombs, as D. Trump. If he can be taken out via the XXV Amendment, they he should be. The next guy in line will learn from the example, and moderate his affair with the idiots on the right.

We don’t have 3 or 4 years in which to fix this.

    21
  22. If you want to see XXV in action, watch “Air Force One.”

When I Googled “How old is the president?”, at first I got a Wiki listing saying Obama is string-of-numbers+♠+56 – 56 is correct for Obama’s age.

Two minutes later, I get a lead article from the Heritage Foundation with St. Ronnie’s pic. YUCK!
