Remember When?

Remember when Republicans were calling for more civility after last week’s shooting of a Republican congressman?

Remember when Charlie Brown would try to kick the football and Lucy would pull it up at the last minute?

Yeah, the Lucy Republican strikes again …

  2. Notice that she has not asked for the ad to come down. She’s hoping it will help her.

    Utterly predictable.

  5. I read with disgust the article in the Atlanta paper. Seems there are folks that actually believe that radical leftists are lurking on every corner to destroy our country. Doubt we will change those minds.

But, I do have a deep concern. At the onset of the Ossoff/Handel contest, I sent a small donation. Since that time, I get ten or more emails daily, all with urgent messages proclaiming dire consequences if Handel wins. I particularly dislike the ones that express disappointment in my lack of response. I gave up guilt trips when I left the Southern Baptist Church.

During the last round of elections, I repeatedly received messages proclaiming “Bohener will be devastated when he see this” and similar ridiculous screeds. All come across as whining, groveling for support. Is this who we are? The Republicans laugh at us, and I understand why.

I have not contributed to the Ossoff campaign since that first donation. When the Democratic Party can stand straight and tall, express their beliefs and philosophies in an intelligent, coherent manner, then I may jump back into the fray. As long as this laughable caterwauling continues, I think we will see little more that an occasional victory of a hard blue area. Reading comments on other websites indicate I am not alone in my beliefs.

Thank you for letting me rant. I fully believe there are better ways to “Take Our Country Back!”

  7. Well, that ad was a lying piece of ****. And I’m sure there are those ignorant or unhinged enough to fall for it.

db, I know what you mean. I get scores of emails daily, most of them telling me that the world will collapse if I don’t send money. It’s easy to get fed up and delete all of them, but I do still contribute to the ones that I believe in, political and environmental.

You’ve got to decide what you can afford to give and how you want to spread it around and stick with your plan. Campaigns always ask for more donations…it’s in their DNA. I sign a lot of petitions and email senators, etc. as often as I can. Join a local group and get busy – active – to hell with money!

  9. I was gonna say something about what a classy lady Karen Handel is, but then I remembered she’s a Republican’t and changed my mind.

Karen Handle is stupid, mean and utterly reprehensible. The perfect rethuglican candidate.

DB- I know exactly which emails you mean. They are threatening and demeaning and obviously don’t work if you and I are the average example. I don’t send money to people or organizations that treat me that way.

I sure wish Kathy Griffin had kept her mouth shut. She wasn’t funny then and she wasn’t funny in the past. I’d wish her a lifetime of doing stand up comedy in Branson, Missouri but I fear she’s even talked herself out of that gig. I know the Repubs said and did awful things about Obama but we are supposed to be better than that and we sure don’t want to give them ammunition. Kind of sad that James Hodgekinson’s shooting of Rep. Scalise is being used to get Republican votes instead of for ads in support of gun control. Sadly, I suspect that Rep. Scalise doesn’t mind being used in this manner.
