I’m Tired

December 31, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Impeachment, Lie, Trump

As we roll into the new year, a few observations:

As of this moment, we have no Attorney General, no White House Chief of Staff, no Interior Secretary, no Director of the EPA, the Secretary of Education is a religious nut trying to destroy education, the VP is a religious nut who believes women should be subjugated, the Secretary of State is a political hack helping cover up the murder of a Saudi journalist, the Director of National Security wants to bomb Iran, 18 countries have no US ambassador (including Australia), half of the positions in the State Department remain unfilled, the stock market is down almost 3,000 points, China now owns Pacific rim trade, the US is the only major power to NOT be in the Paris accords, the entire world is either terrified or laughing at us, and the president has shut down the government for the last 10 days over his 5th century solution to a 21st century problem. Notice I didn’t mention anything about everyone convicted, in jail, or on the way to jail, or Trump’s current average of telling over 500 lies per month.

This is great? Are we tired of winning yet?

I’m just tired.

Happy New Year

  1. I can not WAIT until Thursday.
Let the investigations begin as soon as the oath of office is administered.

    1
  2. El Jefe,
    To paraphrase Vince Lombardi:

    Winning isn’t everything, it’s exhausting.

    2
  3. So what is the downside to impeachment?

    3
  4. Jane & PKM says:

Kentucky, are you listening? Unless Old Scratch McConnell moves to 25th the 45th, it’s up to you to remove Old Scratch. While it is the duty of the cabinet to move on Dotard45, Old Scratch could give them a shove in the right direction. He is Senate Majority Leader and could say no more judicial appointments and/or rally his caucus to re-open the government overriding the ***king moron.

    4
  5. Jane & PKM says:

Dotard45 told Chuck & Nancy that he’d accept responsibility for shutting down the government. He’s confused; again. All Donnie has done is EMPTY the government. Unless Tiffany drops out of school and marries, he’s out of hiring options. Old Scratch McConnell could give up his majority and send snacilbupeR senators to fill some of the voids. But even Traitor Tommy “I’ll blow anyone” Cotton won’t volunteer.

Hell, even Mikey Dense, who could lead the 25th the 45th challenge, isn’t willing to clean up Donnie’s mess. Our Constitution would work, if the Republicons had a clue about governance. Idiots had the House, the Senate and the WH, yet couldn’t even pretend to govern.

Wake up call to the electorate “tired of gridlock,” – quit voting Republicon and against your own interests. Heyzeus, how many times does a Democratic president need to clean up after Republicons before you morons grab a clue?

    5
  6. That Other Jean says:

    Amen, El Jefe, amen.

    6
  7. Like it or not this is a four year marathon. You are limping into the half aid station. Buck it up!

    7
  8. Many, many years ago, a Texas AG ran for governor. DH was pretty heavily involved in the campaign in Harris county. I listened to talk radio. Nobody in the local campaign would. They seriously discounted the electorate and talk radio. A couple weeks before election I told em John Hill was gonna get his ass kicked. They thought I was nuts.

The Democrats have never really had their ears to the ground.
Unless Mueller gets him, Trump will win again. My neighbors tell me God is the decider of everything.

For the sake of grandchildren the world over, I pray God is on the side of justice.

    8
  9. The downside of democracy is that uninformed citizens also vote. The remedy, I suppose, is as much education as possible.

    9
  10. If Hillary Clinton, who got the most votes by three million, had been declared the winner as in any sensible country, I’m sure we would be sitting here contemplating our nation’s problems. But they would be different problems, and I’m thinking lesser and less soul-killing problems. Not including *any* of those that El Jefe mentioned.

    10
  11. Let’s hope this is the extreme end of the swing of the pendulum. We do have a D-House now. Nancy P, let ‘er rip, and hang on boys.

    11
  12. Dogdamn, we can’t take much more of ‘Winning’ from this Almighty Okole-in-Chief.
MAGA!!!! to you ignorant drooling mofos that swallow RAT45’s bullshit whole and beg for more.

Actuarially, there should be far fewer MAGAots around at this end of 2018, and even fewer of them by late 2019, so there’s that little sliver of blue sky as those fools are inexorably ground-bound.
The media ratings would seem to indicate that the MAGAots are dropping like the dung flies they are. RWNJ media viewer and listenership numbers seem to be down, a few of the more prominent of them are gone (O’Reilly, Ingraham, etc).
Time for some wealthy Democrats to step up and start up some toned down, well planned ‘Air America-type’ networks and programming on both radio and TV. Hell, I’d listen.

(Just bought a very nice SUV, it even comes with ‘sat radio’ (SiriusXM) built in (and hordes of other neat useful goodies). They have a Sirius ‘free trial’, with about 150 effen channels, and guess what? ~98.4% of them are utter crap. At least 75% of them are frickin ‘sports’ channels, 110+ dogdamned ‘sports’ channels, WTF? No use whatsoever to me.
There might be 4 or 5 channels worth listening to, once in a while. Not even going to bother, especially when the ‘trial’ is up it’s ~$20/mo for the subscription to the satellite wasteland. Put something worth listening to on and I might bite. Instead I’ll just load a batch of CD’s and a USB stick w/MP3’s up, stream one radio channel from my phone, and listen to what I like for free.)
    .

    Hau‘oli Makahiki Hou!
    Mahalo nui loa

    12
  13. Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

    13
  14. @OldMYFLY

Channeling Thomas Jefferson there. “The objects of… primary education [which] determine its character and limits [are]:
    To give to every citizen the information he needs for the transaction of his own business;
    to enable him to calculate for himself, and to express and preserve his ideas, his contracts and accounts in writing;
    to improve, by reading, his morals and faculties;
    to understand his duties to his neighbors and country, and to discharge with competence the functions confided to him by either;
    to know his rights;
    to exercise with order and justice those he retains, to choose with discretion the fiduciary of those he delegates;
and to notice their conduct with diligence, with candor and judgment; and in general, to observe with intelligence and faithfulness all the social relations under which he shall be placed.”
—Thomas Jefferson: Report for University of Virginia, 1818.

    14
  15. Happy New Year one and all!

    15
  16. Also, do yourselves a favor and Google Madeline Khan I’m Tired and watch the video from Blazing Saddles.

    16
  17. Linda Phipps says:

Jane and pkm: it’s laughable to suggest “Old Scratch” would do something decent for the country. Decency is in my opinion not in his skill set.

    17
  18. Jane & PKM says:

Linda Phipps, point taken. Expecting decency from Old Scratch is whistling into the wind. With him it would be the unintended consequences of self dealing wherein his interests accidently overlap with our interests. For example, he wants to remain in the Senate and as majority leader, so it might be in his temporary interest to actually govern rather than simply hunker down to load the courts. So maybe he’ll check Donnie slightly on the boarder wall issue to reopen the government. Eat this Mitch: all DACA, no wall, easy on the border security funding (only that which is necessary to maintain the health and safety of asylum seekers.)

Happy New Year to all, even Donald J. Trump: http://jobsanger.blogspot.com/2019/01/arriving-with-subpoena.html

    18
  19. Okay, already. I give. I am now officially tired of winning. Actually, I’ve been tired of (his version of) winning ever since Donald “won” the election.

    19
  20. I’m confused here… either you want the constitution to be followed (I assume by everybody), or you want Hillary Clinton to be declared president regardless of the vote in the Electoral College. You can’t have both.

But I suppose it’s fine to rant, huh? If you can do that, without getting your posts yanked down, and all.

    20
  21. Jane & PKM says:

Pau ADK, you present a false binary. But you probably knew that. Sort of like the folks who thought $carah Palin was attractive because they confused her portrayal by the genuinely attractive Tina Fey. But since it is the first day of the year will leave you to google the EC and its historical role for your own edification.

I’m resting today and tomorrow before beginning my primary responsibility of holding Speaker Pelosi’s beer while she dick punches Old Scratch McConnell and dumbass Donnie.

I find intelligent and funny women to be both attractive and relaxing. So, I leave you with two of the best, Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong of SNL portraying Laura Ingraham and Jeannine Pirro: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Kate+McKinnon+and+Cecily+Strong+parody+CNN+coverage+on+%27Saturday+Night+Live.%27&view=detail&mid=FC40C6D966752DD29D82FC40C6D966752DD29D82&FORM=VIRE

    21
  22. @Pau ADK

What some of us want is to understand how a candidate like AlGore or Hillary wins the popular vote and doesn’t win the EC. And from there to ask if the EC doesn’t in fact thwart the will of the voter. I personally don’t long for a “democracy” over a “republic”.

My particular rants are born in my utter contempt for the a$$-backward Republican Party, its members, and its fraudulently elected PotUS. But this isn’t my website. When my rants cross a line they never get published. However, like the great Randy Galloway, I offer “vindictive, self-serving, often vicious … commentary; nothing in the way of credibility; frequent personal attacks;…”

And, I’m right proud of all the above.

    22
  23. We don’t have much of a POTUS either. Considering the fact that he’s a traitor to his own nation, his own administration and his sworn duty.
Also, the ‘Actings’ aren’t acting so well.

And 2018 was supposedly a strong year for Trumpty and the Republicans. By next year it may be nothing more than Ivania, Mulvaney and Jared running the whole shootin’ match.

    23
  24. Pau ADK,
The Constitution was approved in 1776. Gerrymandering, which allows a minority party by total vote to gain a majority of representatives first came about in 1812.

I don’t believe gerrymandering, which skewers the Electoral College vote, is in the Constitution.

There are many ways to argue the issue.

    24
  25. LD Dewees says:

5th Century solution to a 21st Century problem! That is brilliant.

    25
  26. House D’s should start working on impeachment ASAP.

Potential that demented donnie may try to beat Rauners record of 2 years with out a budget on partial shutdown.
If he goes this way and digs in some senate r’s ( and house as well) may decide that an extended shutdown does no one any good and many of their constituents harm.
As such they may actually join with d’s to override doddering donnie’s veto.
If this occurs impeachment should be ready to take advantage of the thuglican’s momentary sanity and push impeachment right behind a veto over ride. Same number of votes needed.

    26
  27. Actually, there is only one way to argue the issue: you either live by the rule of law, or you do not.

If you do not like the law, then change it.

Don’t try to jump through hoops trying to justify your own desire to be both law abiding and law breaking. Republicans do that. Perhaps you all need to take a good look around you, and ask yourselves: is my environment dictating who I am, or am I strong enough to adhere to my ideals regardless of what is flying all around me? Maybe some of you could use a change of venue.

    27
  28. Jane & PKM says:

Micr, good friend can you assist a buddy? Never encountered the alleged Bernie Bros or any certifiable bots in the last election probably because we limit our social media accounts. But I think I may have engaged a bot, or maybe just another snacilbupeR. Main symptoms are nonspecific direction of conversation, circular logic, memes with a sort of passive-aggressive “challenge” without a goal post. Please tell me that’s a bot and not a more scary possibility of being stalked by Kellyanne.

    28
  29. Pau ADK or Paul ADK?
Not sure where you’re coming from, guess some of the regulars here think that you might be a troll.

In any case, the word “Pau” or “pau” in Hawaiian means (among other things): ‘gone’, finished’, ‘over with’, ‘busted’, ‘broken’, etc., so…

    29
  30. Jane & PKM says:

Sandridge, here’s a puzzle for you. How do we tell the difference between a bot, a troll and a MAGAt? (Each is an automaton who gets starbursts up his pant leg every time the ***king moron takes a dump on Twitter.)

Lordy, they’re like a defective automated phone system. Press #1 for the expected response and whatever you do, do not press #other options. Not sure, but that other options is direct dial to Kellyanne and/or hell.

    30
  31. @Jane & PKM
    /Rant and answer begins!

The bots which should concern us are the ones that respond to every negative point about the nacilbupeR candidate with a link that mentions jailing Hillary or Fake News. Plus the writer alleges to be named after one of the characters from the Bible: Peter, Paul, Joseph, Mary, etc etc ad nauseum. I noticed during the election of 2016 a number of bots with DNS entries in the range 85.0.0.0-85.255.255.255, all part of subnet subnet 85.0.0.0/8, according to dnslytics. I noticed other subnet ranges as well, although those notes are long lost. One thing I did notice is that I could search a random string of blather words and find the EXACT matches on dozens of websites. So it appears to me that a bot 0 took the original idiotic post then distributed it to dozens of slave bots in Europe. These bots were already friended by Trump fans and so these deplorables received a steady diet of thinly veiled hate.
    /Rant ends

    31
  32. Jane & PKM says:

Micr and Sandridge, thank you. Been some weird covfefe ever since those twitter exchanges with @KellyannePolls. It’s been several months since the last exchange. Stopped answering about the time she went all microwave madness.

    32
  33. Jane & PKM, Hard to tell them apart anymore. It is like those ‘phone trees’ that just lead back to ‘nowhere’ (I ran into one last week, I just blew it off ’cause of the holidays maybe, try again later this week).

    33
