Here’s the deal …

July 29, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Momma needs me to tend to her today.  She’s fine but she has a list of errands I need to run as payback for walking me to kindergarten while I screamed the entire way.

If something comes up today, please feel free to discuss it among yourselves and I’ll be back later.

My mamma is getting the same way. She’s about the same age, I think, and while she detests having anyone do anything for her, it sometimes has to be done.

Here is something worth discussion, mutiny in the House!

The fun never stops when the Republicans are fighting each other!

Sending love to Mama! Hope the errand schedule allows time for a nice leisurely lunch at her favorite restaurant.

My own dear Mama has already fired the first warning shot across my bow for what the future holds. Mama is not big into embroidery, nick knacks or anything she deems “needing dusting.” But she proudly displays a framed piece of embroidery in the family den stating: “live long enough to get even with your children.”

As I cared for my parents, Mom with Alzheimers and Dad with Parkinsons, I felt privileged to be able to repay them for their unfailing care for me as a child. Not an obligation, a privilege.
That opportunity helped ease my grief at their passing.

Hugs to you and Mama. I’m already threatening our kids with my impending old age. Heck, it’s not impending, it’s here and they remind me. So I just ask ’em for help.

  9. We got this. You look after Momma.

  10. @PKM
Yep. There is a freedom to seeing a grandkid’s diaper hanging down to his knees and saying, “let’s get ole Dad to change that! Hehehe.”

If you can open this it’ll bring tears (of laughter!) to your eyes.

Business aside, have a great personal day, JJ. You’ve more than earned it. Best regards to Mama!

Have fun with Momma; you’ll be glad you did! We will fill up your mailbox while you are busy….

  13. PKM and Micr, around here we call it the mother’s curse, “Someday when you grow up I hope you have children just like you.”

Maryelle, we took care of both sets of parents mine for 10 Years his for a total 5. I don’t regret doing so, it was a privilege as I’m sure JJ would attest. Challenging at times but a privilege none the less.

Ralph and UmptyDump, there is nothing as nice as a bit of inter-nicean warfare is there?

My best to mama. Mine’s dead, but my 95 year old mother-in-law is still alive and kicking — literally. (She actually takes her walker to her line dancing classes, she’s been a square dancer and round dancer for years.)

And talking about the fun of Republican craziness eating itself, TWO major anti-immigrant groups have criticized a major figure for being ‘too soft on amnesty.’ The groups are NUMBERS USA and William Gheen’s group. The figure?

    DONALD TRUMP

Y’know Susan, if you’re running errands and Moma’s at home, why not let her have a shot on this here web-thingy. I think I’d like to know what she thinks about all of the craziness out there.

    16
  17. Love it, Umptydump. Cruz is starting to learn — by having it pounded into his concrete head — that you can’t scream and stomp all over the sandbox and ruin everybody else’s sandcastles without having them gang up and shove you off the playground.

  18. Begonia Buzzkill says:

It’s the apex of bigotry that a flag pinned CEO only got $75 million for a retirement package…says 3-term Texas Senator Gramm, at the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill hearing. Gramm was so verklempt at this blatant bigotry suffered by a millionaire….he pounded the table while speaking.

(The CEO actually received $158 million.)

And they wonder why body cams should be required…http://crooksandliars.com/2015/07/cincinnati-preparing-riots-over-traffic

Hint; because killers lie and the police unions swear to it!

    Another sad note-

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3176673/Arkansas-judge-Sons-death-hot-car-tragic-accident.html

The judge called 911. Makes one wonder who left the child alone in a closed vehicle for about four hours in nearly 100 degree heat.

  21. “Donald Trump says he’d “love” to include former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin in his cabinet if he is elected president.”

Well, not a lot more jaw-dropping than some other things he’s said… If he wants to hang a “Don’t Vote For Me, I’m An Idiot” sign on, he’s certainly doing a good job.

Trump wants Palin because she is special, really special.

  23. @charles r. phillips and perhaps others:
As a former peace officer I can assure you body cams will give you more truth than you can handle. The footage shown from the Longview body cams for example was way too real for me. Been there done that.
