Get Out Your Calculators

October 08, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I’m a little slow today because it’s a real pretty day for the first time in a damn long time, so haul out your pocket calculators and have some fun while I catch some rays.

This is right is Louie Gohmert’s FEC filing.  It’s what he spent his campaign contributions on.

Questions I have:

1.  How many phones does he have?  Where does he keep that many phones?

2.  How much did Louie have to pay a black man to appear with him to prove that Louie knows a black man?

3.  How many people can you feed barbeque to for $6668.37?  Do that many people live in Terrell, Texas, or were undocumented workers fed, too?

4.  New York City?  How much money did Louie spend in New Damn York City?

5.  What is a “cooler can” and why does it cost $1650.60?

6.  He has an airline ticket for $1775.80.  Where did he go?  Better yet, he has an airplane ticket for $10 and I wanna know where he went for $10 so I can avoid it.

7.  He bought a computer, camera, print and supplies at Best Buy.  Are the odds of him knowing how to use any of that better than 50/50?

8.  He had “auto repair” at $500.  How many times have you had auto repair that came out an exact number like that?  More or less than never?

9.  Why does he need two satellite radios?  Does he think he needs that in stereo?

10. Why does his staff get pizza but he dines at The Capitol Hill Club for $1,500 a month?  Do you think the staff will try to poison him when they find this out?  Do you know how to get in touch with his staff?

Thanks for all your help in this matter.  I’m outta here in flip flops and a jacket.

Be social and share!

  1. I wonder who lives at 70 Park Ave. in New York City that he keeps taking taxis to?

  2. 70 Park Ave. is a Boutique Hotel. I looked it up. They even have government per diem rates.

Susan. The day I stumbled on your commentary was pure luck for me. A first read everyday is educational and does wonders for my liberal psyche.

  5. Ok. I read the whole dang thing. Its bo–ringggg! Even for an FEC filing. Phones: apparently Louie-louie does not use a cell phone when traveling by plane. He uses the phones provided by the airline. I know someone who used to do that. Then he learned how to use a fancy cell phone. Alan Keyes! Hell, I don’t know who to feel sorrier for. Him or Louie. $6 grand plus sounds like they didn’t use paper tableclothes or napkins but the real deal, including flatware at that barbeque. It also depends on how many people attended and how big a catering staff was needed and whether or not there was a useage fee for the venue. Its on the pricey side alright which I guess is why they didn’t do it again. Lord help him if it was a fundraiser and attendance was thin and he had to pay the caterer out of his own pocket since he has to raise about an average of 10 grand a day to finance a re-election while paying off the leftovers from the previous one.. Fund raisers like that should tell him something. The plane ticket is pricey but I bet it was First Damn Class Round Trip and he went to what is kind of like an off market destination. If it was someplace well known like Los Angeles he might have gotten a better fare cuz such hubs have such volume air business that the airlines and travel agents can come up with cheaper fares than say if he went to Detroit. Or beautiful downtown Butte, Montana. As for the office equipment, 10 to one he confuses the fax machine with a computer! Someone else obviously was going to work these tools. The $500 auto repair could have been a deal run by the dealership. I know of a dealership that will just about rebuild your car for $800 flat. Two satellite radios? Well, how bout one for each floor of his house. Does he know how the hell to use them is another question. Gotta say though that a smart boss would take his staff to the Capitol Hill Club once a year for some really thick filet mignon served by waitstaff in black and white livery. Obviously when he dines at the CHC it is with others and he ends up picking up the tab on occasion. And, no, it is certainly not a cheap eats place. Lunch can run $300 depending on the entree and if you are picking up the tab for two. Pizza for the staff? Really, Louie, just how much loyalty can constant pizza buy you!

  7. You are the best, lady. I love your running commentary on the Texican government.

    One concern tho…

“I’m outta here in flip flops and a jacket.”

Yeah, I realize that those of us in the over-50 club own maps that give the general directions to the biblical cities of Alzheim and Dementa, but damn it… pants!

    😉

    J. Barrett Wolfe … Perhaps Ms. JJ’s hubby, Bubba, enjoys her in flip-flops and a jacket … however, if she needs a jacket, she probably needs pants on, as well!

But your assumption that the lady was sans dungarees is really funny!!

  10. I was hoping that jacket was really loooong.

  13. GrumpyGator64 says:

I paid a car repair bill the other day for exactly $500. That’s the amount of my auto insurance deductible. Total damage over $1,500, and the plastic garbage can wasn’t damaged.

    13
  14. Bob Barrall says:

The $500 is easy, it’s his deductible. Would be interested to see if he gets reimbursed by the other insurance company if their driver at fault, would he pay it back to the account or pocket it.

I was more amused by the fact that his internet service is still with AOL.

According to Wiki, the Kimpton Hotel Chain, which owns 70 Park Avenue,is nationally known as one of the best supporters of LGBT employees and they promote women’s careers as well. Why would a WOW warrior even visit such a blasphemous place?

  16. e platypus onion says:

The cooler can is actually the little, foam can coolers. Louie ordered some in 2010(although I haven’t seen the actual FEC filing, too long and takes more bandwidth than I can afford) he also ordered $4,080 worth of pens from CaHill Sales in 2010.
