  2. “Covered” shows what Republican’ts really mean. That’s why they have not bothered to come up with a viable alternative.
Healthcare, medicare and medicaid fall under their label of socialism, and only the privileged should receive it.

  3. Gotta say, out of all the outstanding Friday toons heretofore, these are ever so totally on key!

  4. Looking at the 4th toon and you can be sad considering the largest numbers that vote rePUKEian are the ones that need healthcare the most.

  5. That’s the most accurate ballot I’ve seen in several years.

  6. L.Long is right, e.g., my sibling who has a family full of autistic, allergic, bipolar, hypothyroid people and barely hanging onto a job/insurance yet is wild for Santorum and thinks “Obama will take away my kids and drug them into a stupor.”

L.Long and IronCelt, thank you both for raising historical questions of why the anti-science approach is a danger to society. At one time most states required blood tests to apply for a marriage license, which brought down the rate of STDs. Perhaps some here can explain, despite the success of those blood tests in eliminating STDs, blood tests are now a rarity to applying for a marriage license.

Imagine informed consent before pregnancy. In specific, genetic testing. Whether the cause be environmental, genetic or both, we know recessive genes are complicated. I think most of agree that most couples want healthy children.

I will concede a little ground to the anti-abortion folks, if they would in return concede a little to science and responsible parenting. Marry in love, but if breeding is foremost in your plans, what would it hurt to consider DNA testing for recessive genes that might slow you down?

Yes, I am an idealist. The Earth is over populated, so until every child is adopted and every foster child has a permanent home, why risk the health of unborn children? As an animal lover, I would say the same to puppy and kitty lovers: stop encouraging irresponsible breeders by buying pets, when there are dogs and cats in need of your love available in animal shelters across our country.

Not taking “cover” for my comment. Just hoping all the wonderful commenters here will provide feedback and keep the discussion going.
