Louie Gohmert has a serious challenger. Dr. Brent Beal, who teaches business at the University of Texas in Tyler has announced that he’s a Democratic candidate for Gohmert’s seat.

Watched vid clips on BBC World News earlier, CurrOccu has just ceded American future economic, technical, and military dominance to other world powers, our competitors. (MAGA, make amurikkka grovel afterward)
Then watched PBS NewsHour and was dumbstruck (it reached out from the tv) by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT). OMFG, what an overbearing asshole.

And, F!, now the local PBS station has pre-empted a network JFK Inaugural Concert (previously never broadcast, w/Marilyn M, Sinatra, etc) with yet another rerun of the 2017 DC Memorial Concert. Even the DOTA tv sked showed that JFK prog for a few minutes, now blank). I guess that’s what happens when the Board and station management is wholly infiltrated by Rethugs.

Speak up Iowa. Will Kim Weaver defeat the second dumbest man in the House, Steve King? NV hopes to do its part defeating Mark Amodei in NV2. We also have an opportunity to vote Dean Heller out of the Senate in 2018.
Speaking of 2nd congressional districts, New York, do you have anyone to oust odious bomb thrower Peter King?
2018 will be an expensive midterm election. But to take back the House will be worth it.
Jon Ossoff (GA), Col. Applegate to defeat Darrell Arsonist Issa (CA), Loretta Sanchez to defeat Bob Dornan (CA). Then there is the weird turn of event in UT with Chaffetz not running for re-election which really improves the chances for a Kathryn Allen victory there.

I was going to mention Beal’s website deficiencies too but held back.
It does need expansion and verbiage, but a key element are the visuals, and the ones there now should be much improved.
Particularly the one on the “About” page. A ‘happy family’ picture is essential, but NOT shot in a back alley ferchrisakes; that’s just too edgy, especially considering the electoral terrain.
I really hope that he gets some pro help with all aspects of his campaign. TX-1 has to be one of the toughest districts for a Democrat anywhere today.
If y’all remember the Democrats had a most supremely qualified candidate a few years ago in TX-27 (against PJ Farenthold!) and the USMC (Rsv/Rtd?) LtCol fighter pilot apparently had little help in a reasonably winnable district.
Yes, the core Corpus Christi district had been gerrymandered six ways from Sunday, but it still isn’t near as bad as many; and certainly not TX-1.

19Okay, I can spare 20 bucks to defeat Louie. Done and done — also, if Juanita Jean says so, it’s good enough for me. Still, I’ll miss ol’ Louie and his idiocy, so I kind of hope that if he loses, he’ll still keep blowing BS out his mouth just for the fun of it. Who can ever forget aspersions on his asparagus?!? That was a classic. Nonetheless, let’s defeat that nincompoop.
20I happily chipped in $20 bucks to defeat Looney Louie. I’ll never be able to erase from my mind seeing Louie eating while giving one of his long, stupid speeches to an empty House.
21Trump’s speech? Actually, that was Steve Bannon talking through Trump’s head just like Edgar Bergan and Charlie McCarthy. I am older than dirt and right now I am going to admit that the Time Magazine feature was right. Gannon is actually the President. Trump is his front.
